One envelope 11,5cm. x 16,5cm ( 4,52 inch. x 6,49 inch.) Because it is handmade, each card has its own subtle differences. You can see that the card is made from several different types of paper. The paper with real dried flowers and plants is my own creation. I have created a special method of producing paper with dried flowers, plants. My paper is thin but strong and has good light permeability. That way the flowers and plants are well seen. Other paper is recycled and is a pastel beige-gray color. Hi Stamping Friends!! I've been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since 2006. I became a demonstrator simply for the discount. I had begun to make invitations for people and I was purchasing large quantities of card stock and ribbon. And no matter how hard I looked, I could not find better quality products than what I was buying from Stampin' Up! So I signed up and have not regretted it since! Over the years I have made invitations for weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, birthdays, 50th anniversaries, bachelorette parties, and teas. I've also created thousands (Yes. You read that correctly. I said THOUSANDS!) of Christmas cards. One Christmas alone I made over two thousand cards. Many of my customers ordered between two and three hundred cards each so it was easy to get into the thousands quickly. Needless to say, I have a little bit of experience in mass producing cards. And even though I purposefully stopped taking large orders, I still stamp between 30 and 40 cards each month. I thought you might like to get a glimpse in the process that works best for me. Here is the card that I mass produced this month: Stamps: The Newborn King Paper: Very Vanilla, Elegant Eggplant, Gold Foil Accessories: Itty Bitty Star Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Circle Punches, Rhinestone Jewels, Vanilla Ribbon (retired) The first thing to think about when making a large amount of cards is the design and layout. How much time do you have? Do you want something simple or fancy? I tend to go with simpler designs and techniques. I try to avoid time-consuming things like sponging and heat embossing. I do like to use embossing folders because I love the texture. It just didn't work with this design. After deciding on the design, I score and cut the card bases: Next I cut the card fronts and either emboss them or in this case, stamp them: Next I stamp and punch out all the pieces for my embellishments. For very large orders, I would even pre-cut all of the ribbon. Now I have all of the pieces of my card ready for assembly: As you can see in the above pic, I stamped and punched the nativity scene and layered it onto the gold foil scallop so it would be ready to be attached to the card. When I have all my pieces ready, I begin putting the cards together a la assembly line style. This means that I attach all of the card fronts onto the card bases, first. Then I add the bigger embellishments. In this case, I added both of the circle elements. Finally, I add my "pretty" finishing touches which typically are rhinestones and ribbons. When mass producing you also need to consider your adhesive choices. Are you in a hurry? Are you trying to save money? Do you need a strong holding or fast drying adhesive? Answers to these questions will determine which adhesive you choose. In this case, I was in a hurry and was not worried about cost. I used Fast Fuse to attach my card front on to my base. I used glue to attach my nativity scene to my gold scallop. I used Dimensionals to attach both circle elements. And finally, I used Glue Dots to attach my gold star. Thankfully the Stampin' Up! rhinestone jewels already have adhesive on the backs so that was an easy choice. I ended up with 41 cards. People always ask me how long it takes to make a card and I've never been able to answer them. I rarely sit down and just "make a card". I get out card stock and ribbon for inspiration. Then I browse the internet for design ideas. Etc. Same for mass producing. I have no idea how long it took to make these because I easily interrupt myself. I stamp standing up so I give my legs a break every so often. Plus there is always kids, and laundry, and house distractions. But I did start these one day and finish them the next if that gives you a general idea. :) Anywhoo!! I hope you enjoyed this little how to. And I hope it gave you a few ideas on how to streamline the process of making a ton of cards at one time. But I hope you never have to make 300 of the same card. Ever. Christmas is a season for crafts, but also a time of year when the days aren’t long enough. We’re doing our best to show fun crafts, quick enough to squeeze in to the hectic time around Christmas. Inspired by The Crafty Crowand her experiment with Q-tips, we print pretty Christmas- and place cards in todays post. You need a tp roll cut in half, q-tips, two rubber bands and acrylic paint. A paper plate to pour out the color on can be good to have at hand. 1. We begin by attaching a bunch of q-tips around the tp roll. You need to be two to do this, one to hold the tp roll and the q-tips and one to attach the rubber bands. It doesn’t matter if the q-tips end up in a mess to begin with. When the rubber bands are on, you can gently adjust the q-tips evenly around the roll. Pour out a some acrylic paint on a paper plate. 2. Dip the stamp in acrylic paint and start printing! Good Morning! Today's project is super fun and practical. I created a bunch of money holders :) I don't know about you but I have many people in my life that prefer $$ to use as they choose. So, this is a perfect project just for them! As you can see, you can use any color cardstock and your favorite DSP. Then, you can create a centerpiece with either punches or framelits. I used a 5" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper: place the sheet on the punch board and line up at 2" and punch and score, turn the sheet and line up at 3" and punch and score. kind of like the Saturday Evening post... but on Thursday... anyway... happy holidays!!! I LOVE to shop... Rick teases me that if shopping was an olympic event, I'd be on the center podium... so it kills me... but sometimes you have to just give cash... but here's a quick unique way to make it a little more special... the first one takes a few minutes to figure out... but when you have a sample, it's quick to zip more out... the 2nd & 3rd take less than 15 minutes to complete... TRUST ME! here's how to turn a manila tag into a cash envelope... to look like this... if you want to play... start with a #8 manila tag... one tool that I don't use every day, but I LOVE, is the scor-it... it makes perfect folds very time... so... measure 2 inches from the top of the tag & score... and measure 1 1/2 inches from the bottom & score again... your tag will look like this... ink the tag with vintage photo distress ink using the blending tool & completely cover both sides... add walnut stain distress ink to the edges... working on the BACK of the tag... use walnut stain to stamp the ticking as shown... over the top 2 sections of the tag... for backgrounds, I usually, not always... press unevenly to create a worn vintage look... or I apply the ink in random areas... now it looks like this... use coffee archival to stamp the polka dot border on the lower section... use jet black archival to stamp the saying over the middle section... stamp the mini branch with forest moss... over the middle section... here's a tip... you can protect the top section with a post-it note, to prevent stamping on the top... this is the BACK of the tag... turn the tag over & work on the FRONT of the tag... use coffee to stamp the Christmas background over the top 2 sections... a little tip... the "have yourself a merry little Christmas" background has teeny tiny words, which makes it hard to read & tell which side is up... so, to avoid stamping it upside down... I used a sharpie & put an arrow right on the cling to know which direction is up... saves an oops & it's a quick tip... use fired brick to stamp the greeting... use forest moss to stamp the mini branches several times on the top of the tag... fold the bottom section up...and use jet black to stamp the mini scroll & "look inside" 2 times... fold the bottom up & use a thin line of Glossy Accents on just the edges to create the pocket... the inside now looks like this... stamp the holly 2 times on grungepaper with jet black... cut out one full image & an extra leaf... ink the leaves with forest moss... front & back... use a cut & dry nib to ink the holly berries with barn door distress ink... use jet black to stamp the border of polka dots over the leaves... add barn door distress stickles to the berries & dry... cut a ribbon to approximately 14 inches... put one end thru the hole, across the top of the tag & down the back... glue the holly over the ribbon to hold it in place... this is the only adhesive I used on the ribbon... it's not glued on the back, so the greeting can be read... fold the tag... and tie a bow to keep it closed... here's the finished envelope again... like I said... the first one takes a bit to figure out... if you're using text... but this next one took no time to finish... I needed one for a boy... so, the same folds, but a little different closure... tim's truck was stamped with jet black... the initial, from tim's new lost & found salvage stickers... was put onto black presentation board... cut out & distressed with tim's sanding grip then a little vintage photo... the T was glued with Glossy Accents to look like it's in the back of the truck... a simple way to personalize the envelope... so... follow the instructions above... and after gluing the edges to create the pocket, insert an eyelet on the bottom of the tag... this time I used black string to keep the envelope closed & cash safe... this also works for a quickie birthday envelope too... or it's a simple way to hide a mini love note! think valentine's day... YIKES... let's get thru Christmas first... one other tip... if you decide to use other background stamps for stamping the back of the tag... remember that when the tag is folded, text or numbers will be upside down... on the top flap... so, keep it simple & use patterned backgrounds to save time... just saying... how about more prizes???
