I have taken the photos for this post ages ago, and I would have waited a bit longer if I had not seen KyotoFoodie's blogpost about Quince liquor. I find it interesting that some recipes are rather universal. In France, sour cherries are commonly used for making liquor ('cerises a l'eau de vie', my favorite!), and although we had quince in the garden, we never made liquor with it, instead we made jelly and paste with it. However I have tasted some Quince eau de vie in Strasbourg, and I consider it my favorite alcohool, it is so tasty!! So in this post, I'll give you a recipe to make your own cointrea. You need - 1 ORGANIC orange (or a few kumkat or a few smaller citrus) - 1 preserve jar - strong alcohol (eau de vie) - sugar (1/3rd of the volume of alcohol) - 1 bit of kitchen string Pour the alcohool in the jar with the sugar, then suspend the fruit(s) above the alcohol - without direct contact - then place in a dark place for 3 months, that's it! You can use the fruit(s) cut in little pieces in crepes or pancakes, it is delicious!

Nu när midsommarafton strax är här så tänkte jag testa göra egen flädersnaps. På midsommarafton har det nog alltid stått en Hallandsfläder bredvid sillen och den nykokta färskpotatisen hos min familj. Då jag har ett stort fläderträd och mina familjemedlemmar inte dricker lika mycket saft som jag skulle kunna producera så försökte jag nu komma på något annat användningsområde för dessa underbara blommor. Ja, varför inte prova att göra egen fläderbrännvin? Resultatet blev riktigt lyckat och uppskattat av samtliga vuxna. Gör så här: · Plocka 5 st fina klasar fläderblommor. · Skala 2 st citroner i spiraler, undvik det vita så mycket som möjligt. · Lägg allt detta i en glasburk alternativt en flaska tillsammans med 1 tsk flytande honung (den kan även uteslutas). · Fyll på med 700 ml okryddat brännvin. Vänd på kärlet några gånger så att honungen löser sig. · Låt stå i 2-3 dagar för att sedan sila brännvinet genom tex ett kaffefilter. #elderflowers #schnapps #midsummer
Pour les petits et les grands ! Une version sans alcool du désormais célèbre cocktail au citron vert et à la menthe fraîche ….. Recette détonnante du Virgin Mojito, s’il vous plaît : Ingrédients (4 personnes) : – 5 citrons verts, – 1 petit bouquet de menthe fraîche, – 4 càs de sucre de canne, – eau gazeuse glacée. Presser le jus de 4 citrons. Prélever les feuilles du bouquet de menthe en réservant qq brins pour la présentation. Piler les feuilles avec le jus de citron et le sucre de canne dans un bol. Le sucre doit être dissout. Répartir ce mélange dans les 4 verres. Ajouter l’eau gazeuse glacée. Couper en rondelles le dernier citron et le répartir dans les verres. U ovomjesečnoj igrici Ajme koliko nas je koju je pokrenula Monsoon sa bloga Dalmacija down under, naša domaćica Valentina sa bloga Tina´s cookings za temu je odabrala - Vino. Odlična i interesantna tema i potvrda - vino je namirnica, vino je hrana ! :) Čaša dobrog vina je uvijek i u svakoj prilici dobro došla i ima svoje mjesto, uz dobar ručak ili večeru, uz druženje, uz trenutke odmora .......... Jednako kao što ima mjesto uz hranu, vino ima svoje mjesto i u hrani. Veliki je izbor kombinacija kako slanih tako i slatkih jela u koje se dodaje vino. Tako je i moja prva ideja bila napraviti neki kolač ili neko slano jelo sa dodatkom vina, ali kako sam krenula razmišljati što bih mogla napraviti tako sam i odustala. Nekako, htjela sam napraviti nešto drugo ali nikako da se dosjetim što bi bilo to „nešto drugo“. I pomoć sam našla kod moje prijateljice Jadre iz Dbk. Vjerujem da se mnogi sjećaju njezinih finih likera (od marelica i od bijelog grožđa) koje sam vam prezentirala. A imala je Jadre i za vino "jokera" , odnosno imala je recept za Liker od vina :) Meni se na prvi pogled učinilo neobično, Liker od vina ?!, nisam ga do sada probala , ne sjećam se da sam se susretala sa ovim likerom. Ali to me nije spriječilo da uz dobiveni recept ne iskombiniram odmah i jedan svoj. Tako danas imamo dva likera od vina :) Prvo pitanje koje sam postavila Jadri je koje vino staviti . Svakako, radi se o crnom vinu i kaže Jadre „najbolje ti je neko domaće“. Znam i ja da je najbolje neko domaće :) samo što sam ja daleko od domaćeg vina, pa da budem što bliže tome ja sam stavila Pelješki Plavac. Liker od vina sa rumom i kavom - 1 litra crnog vina - 700 g šećera - 2 vanilin šećera - 3 dcl ruma - 15-20 zrna kave - Vino staviti u posudu za kuhanje , dodati šećer i vanilin šećer i dobro umješati - Kuhati uz povremeno mješanje do vrenja i zatim još oko 10 minuta - Ohladiti pa dodati rum i zrna kave - Preliti u staklenu posudu , dobro zatvoriti i ostaviti da stoji najmanje 24 sata – meni se 24 sata činilo prekratko pa sam ga držala 3 dana - Procijediti liker u bocu i čuvati ga na tamnom mjestu Dobili ste nešto jači liker zanimljivog okusa,vino je a nije vino :) Mislila sam da će se rum dosta osjetiti, ali nije tako, prije ćete osjetiti aromu kave koju su zrna ispustila. Liker od vina sa narančom i limunom - 1 litra crnog vina - 800 g šećera - 2 vanilin šećera - 1 naranča – korica - 1 limun – korica - 7-8 klinčića - 2 štapića cimeta - 2 dcl ruma - Vino staviti u posudu za kuhanje , dodati šećer i vanilin šećer i dobro umješati - Kuhati uz povremeno mješanje do vrenja i zatim još oko 10 minuta - Naribati koricu naranče i limuna, umješati ih i kuhati još oko 2-3 minute. - Preliti u staklenu posudu , dodati rum, klinčiće i štapiće cimeta. - Dobro zatvoriti i ostaviti da stoji najmanje 24 sata – meni se 24 sata činilo prekratko pa sam ga držala 3 dana - Procijediti liker u bocu i čuvati ga na tamnom mjestu Dobili ste isto tako nešto jači liker koji je aromatičan i mirisan. I korice naranče i limuna i klinčić i cimet ostavili su svoj trag :) Likere šaljem Valentini kao moju prvu ulaznicu u ovomjesečnu igricu. Ja se ne mogu odlučiti koji mi je od ova dva likera bolji , oba su dobra i interesantna na svoj način. Koji god da isprobate nadam se da ćete u njemu jednako kao i ja uživati – Živjeli ! :):)
