The Holiday Catty is live today! Click on the link in the left column to view it online. I used Mossy Meadow ink for the evergreen sprig from Ornamental Pine (135104) and Real Red ink for the sentiment on Very Vanilla card stock. The ornament was stamped with VersaMark on Real Red card stock and heat embossed with Gold embossing powder. Then, I cut it out, mounted it with Dimensionals and added a Gold Baker's twine bow. Endless Wishes (136829) has several sentiments to combine. Mine is stamped with Pear Pizzazz ink. The snowflakes are stamped with Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz and Lost Lagoon inks on Whisper White card stock. I used Lost Lagoon 3/8 in. Silky Taffeta Ribbon (135841) and the embellishments are from Frosted Sequins (135835).

I have teamed up with 11 Incredible Demonstrators from around the globe to bring you a Tutorial Bundle, once a month for a 6 month period (August 2016 - January 2017). All tutorials are offered in both Metric and Imperial measurements so that everyone around the globe are able to recreate the projects with ease. You will receive no less than TWELVE tutorials in each month's Tutorial Bundle, one tutorial from each of the twelve designers. For a sneak peek of each month's Tutorials and/or to purchase them click below. Poppy Favour Tutorial Cut Two Ovals of differing sizes and stamp using Kinda Eclectic sunburst image in the same Real Red as the cardstock. Curl the edges using a bone folder (I have kept them flat here for the purpose of the photo). Snip into the centre where they over lap and interlock. Die cut the leaf from the Leaflets Framelits in Garden Green. Mount the poppy on a disc of Basic Black and sandwich your treat between that and another disc. Add the leaf and then the poppy head, before finishing it off with a smaller circle of Black Cardstock to the centre, which I've adhered using a single Dimensional foam pad. Notecard and Tag Gift Box for 3"x3" cards Click on the above photo to see the project post in it's entirety. Below are the instructions for making the box and insert divider. The enclosed Notecards are a simple 3" x 3" square card and the coordinating Envelopes were made using the Envelope Punch Board and Designer Series Paper. The tags are cut to 2" wide, finished using the Tag Topper Punch and cut to your chosen length to fit the box. Stamp up the cards to coordinate with your chosen DSP. Snip into one score line at each corner and use a strong adhesive to assemble. I have shown here with Sticky Strip so that you are able to see it clearly. It is a good idea to adhere the divider in place. This helps to give the box a little more strength to the base. If you are stamping on the Box Lid, you will want to do this before assembling. Wonderland Hanging Star Ornament Tutorial (6" x 6") Click on the photo, to be taken to the Tutorial Instructions. Envelope Punch Board Mini Album (6" x 6") Click on the photo, to be taken to the Tutorial Instructions. Envelope Punch Board/Paper Table Favour Click on the photo, to be taken to the Tutorial Instructions. The instructions will yield 12 favours from one sheet of 12" x 12" paper. Instructions require a 3" square piece for this size. Sprinkles of Life Slider Card Click on the first photo to be taken to the Photographic Tutorial instructions. Gift Card Envelope Box Tutorial Click on the photo to be taken to the Tutorial instructions. Santa's Face Embellishment Tutorial I have received some lovely comments and emails asking for instructions on how to make the Punch Art Santa that I showed on my Curvy Keepsake Gift Boxes of late, so without further ado ….. get your punches ready and spread a little cheer! You will need the following punches and dies: 2 3/8" Scallop Circle - White 1 3/4" Scallop Circle - White Large Oval - Blushing Bride Large circle from Owl Builder Punch - Blushing Bride 2 Medium Circles from Owl Builder Punch - Black Mustache Framelit - White Petite Pennants Builder - Real Red Petite Pennants Builder - Silver Glimmer (part punch) 1/2" Circle - Silver Glimmer 1. Punch out one each of the above (unless otherwise stated) 2. Assemble as shown. Taking the Pennant Parade part punch of glimmer paper and holding with a post it note, re-insert into the punch in the opposite direction to add a scalloped edge to the opposite side of the scalloped bottom edge. 3. Add the Mustache to the face using Dimensionals and add the scalloped punched glimmer strip to the bottom of the hat. 4. Attach the hat to the face and decide where you wish to use your cheerful Santa. Merry Christmas Mikaela x Curvy Keepsake Pumpkin Box Tutorial Place an online order with me during the month of October 2014, of £20 or more, and you will receive a kit to make two of these cute boxes. Look out for the Hostess Code to apply to your order at the beginning of October (Note that the Designer Series Paper may differ to that shown here). Cut two each of the Cardstock sides and two of the Polka Dot Designer Series Paper sides. Please note that this particular DSP has been retired, but the Designer Series paper Stacks would offer a similar polka dot. Die cut as shown here. Fold on the score lines and lay out as shown here. Adhere the cardstock base together, then trim off the excess DSP along the scoreline at the base of the sides. Add adhesive to the outside edge of the little side tab of the card stock base and marry up the base of the DSP side. Repeat on both sides. The base of your box will now look like this. Very gently, using the full length of a Bone Folder, curl each box side inwards on itself, in the direction of it being assembled. The Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits, comes complete with 3 possible tags. I've used the oval here and stamped using a Hostess Set called, Good Greetings. The leaf has been die cut using the Autumn Accents Die. Take a thin strip of matching card stock and wrap it tightly around a thin round pen or similar. Layer the tag and leaf, attach the card stock curl with a Glue Dot and tie to the box using Linen Thread. Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies £29.95 Autumn Accents Bigz Die £18.95 Pumpkin Pie A4 Card Stock £6.25 Old Olive A4 Card Stock £6.25 Crumb Cake A4 Card Stock £6.25 Linen Thread £3.95 Flower Shop Stamp Set Tip Should you purchase the gorgeous Flower Shop Stamp Set and Punch Bundle, then you will find this tip for setting up the stamps, very useful. Thankfully, I discovered this tip from one of my fellow Demonstrators in America, before setting my kit up. There is only one way that the punch will fit neatly around the stamped image, with an even edge all the way round, so you need to find this to start with … and here is how. Firstly you want to take a piece of cardstock and pushing the strip right down into the punch, punch out the image. Turn the piece of cardstock over and mark which is the top and bottom of the image (the bottom being the inside edge of the punch). It is important to turn the cardstock over to mark this, as you are wanting the punch to sit the way the image will appear when stamped. Now place each flower image in turn onto your acrylic block and with the punched out flower, sit it over the rubber image, turning it until it sits snuggly around the flower (there really is only one best way). When you've found it, mark on the edge of the rubber, where the bottom is (as shown in the bottom left photo here). Repeat for each flower image. I have marked the bottom, so that now when I stamp the image, I stamp it with the bottom mark of the image to the edge of the cardstock, so that I can slot it directly into the punch, without having to cut away excess cardstock to line it up. I have also marked the rubber that I store them in, so that I know which way round it sits neatly back in the case. I hope this makes sense. I think once you start rotating the cardstock, you'll see how it fits better one way more so than the others. Using the excess side strips of your dimensionals, add a height to one stem Using the Itty Bitty Punch Set, punch a LOT of flowers out of Wisteria Wonder cardstock and crumple between your fingers (you can do several at a time), before attaching the screwed up flowers to each dimensional line, until covered Add the Calypso Coral Butterfly and the leaves using Glue Dots Attach the fence to the main tag, lining up the bottom edge and tucking the leaves between the fence posts Using the Woodgrain Stamp, Crumb Cake Ink and the Second Edition Stamping technique, stamp strips of Crumb Cake Card Stock Print your chosen sentiment with Early Espresso Ink and punch out using the Ticket Duo Builder, before adding this with Snail adhesive to the fence Slot your ribbon through the curved cut at the top of the tag and secure with a bow of Linen Thread Enjoy making and creating your own versions! Good evening! I hope your weekend has started well. I had a good morning and even better afternoon and evening :-) During the morning I took Sally for a walk and also went to do some postal errands. This afternoon I got to make a card with a new set - Festival of Trees ! It comes as part of a bundle with a punch. so many little trees it is a lovely set. I wanted to make a shaker card - all those snow globes I have seen recently in the $2 Shop have inspired me :-) LOL! Just kidding - but I do love a good Shaker card and the new Confetti stars punch makes it so easy :-) So here is the card: For the card base I used some Pear Pizazz. Next I cut the circle from the card using the wonderful Circle Framelits and embossed the rest of the front piece with the On Point EF. I stamped the trees ( including masking) onto the cut out circle from the front. The front Frame is cut from Silver Glimmer paper and is placed over some acetate sheet also cut with the handy circles :-) To create the shaken snow I used the fabulous confetti Stars punch on all my Silver Glimmer scraps of card I'd kept in the packet - I knew I'd find a use for them one day :-) To hold the stars inside the window I used the Shaker Card adhesive rings. The circle here is bigger than the largest frame so I just cut into the largest circle and removed the backing tape and then you can create whatever shape you need - here a larger circle - so I used two rings and joined them together which is easily done. Then I tipped my confetti stars on top of the Trees before lining up the card front and finishing off by placing the Glimmer frame over the top. Even the greeting is from the same stamp set - I am in love with it already, can't you tell? LOL! And I stamped this one and then used the Itty Bitty Banners Frameits to cut it out. I also cut a 1" Pear Pizzazz circle and decided to emboss that too with the On Point EF although its hard to see. And finally, to complete the silver theme - a little Silver Twine to wrap around the top and a little bow. When I look at redoing this card I will make a coupe of changes - move the frame so it sits more forward than back…and stamp the second tree further back so it doesn't need so much masking :-) What do you think? Card stock: Pear Pizazz, Whisper White, Silver Glimmer Inks: Pear pizazz Stamps: Festival of Trees Accessories: Big Shot, Circle Framelits, On Point EF, Itty Bitty Banner Framelits, Window Sheet, Mulitpurpose Tombow Glue, Confetti Stars punch, 1" Circle Punch, Silver Twine And this evening I made a little journey to visit my good friend Katerina - so lovely to see her and the family and have a quackish catch up :-) We could've talked for many more hours I am sure but it had been a long day for both of us. It was so lovely to be able to see some of her Show and Tell - she is a very talented scrap booker! Always beautiful mixes of texture and colour :-) You can see a sample of her work here where she had decorated a gorgeous little paper bag to give me! Isn't it gorgeous!! And so is the inside - a stamp set she managed to find on Ebay that I had been looking for - the retired (Must Have for dog lovers!) D is for Dog! We have been waiting for this to come up for ages and finally it is here :-) So such a happy package it is! And just in time as will be needing to make a card to thank Sally's surgeon when she goes back for suture removal from her biopsy later this week. Here, the bag was plain to start with but Katerina has stamped it with the chevrons from the Work of Art in white . And while I don't recognise these beautiful papers that the banners were made from and layered so beautifully. I do the butterflies - a retired SU punch and and the Beautiful Wings Dies :-) so beautiful together !!Such a special way to dress up such a wonderful package! Thank you so much Katerina! Happy stamping until next time, Jan
I have some exciting cards to share! My delivery of some of the Holiday Catalogue items arrived yesterday and I was instantly inspired to create. As demonstrators not only do we receive a discount on our products, but we also get to order them early. This is where you ask yourself - why haven't I joined already? I am wondering why you haven't either. :-) The Four Feathers stamp set caught my eye in the catalogue and I had ideas before it even arrived. The ombré look is so hot right now - if you don't know what ombré is the dictionary definition is - shaded or graduated in tone: said of a color. So here are my Ombré Four Feather cards - This first one is using Rose Red, Strawberry Slush and Pink Pirouette - This one is using Perfect Plum, Rich Razzleberry and the NEW Blackberry Bliss And this one is Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay I don't get to use my subtle colours much - so this was a great way to get the dust off them and get them out. The technique to get this was using my markers starting with the lightest and then adding the darker colours. The washi tape I added a strip of while cardstock underneath. The size of the this washi was 1.6cm and it really made the colours pop and the black and white stand out. If you have any other questions please ask. You won't be able to order the Four Feathers stamp set in Australia until the 28th September - but if you would like me to send you a free copy anywhere in Australia then click here. You want to make sure you have this catalogue in your hot little hands. If you don't have the set of markers have a look at my marker club as it is a great way to get the whole kit on a budget and receive rewards. Please Pin my cards if you like them and feel free to comment below as I love comments.

During the next week I have 3 stamp clubs and this time I wanted to create something festive to celebrate our last club dates before Christmas. So here is a Sneak Peek at what I came up with. I've been thinking about creating a Diorama Card for some time now... and I decided that the Holiday Home stamp set would be perfect for this! It was actually really simple to make... but I love how it turned out! If there is enough interest out there I thought I might create a Video Tutorial for you so that you can make your own too. (Let me know if you would like me to do this so I can gauge the interest level) You can comment below, comment on my Facebook Business Page, or email me. And I hope that the Stamp Club girls love it too.... Which might make some of you ask... what is Stamp Club? Its a really simple idea.. each Stamp Club has 6 members. Most of my stamp clubs are bi-monthly, and so every second month we get together to make something that is a bit special (more than the average workshop project). Usually clubs are at my place, but I am happy to do them further away as well. Each club member commits over the course of the year to spend a minimum of $50 on Stampin'Up product at each club event. This means that we always have sales of $300 or more each time, and so each club member takes turns to be the hostess. Which in turn means that each time the hostess gets free dollars to spend on product of her choice. The only other commitment is that when its your turn to host, you bring along something to eat. So basically, its a club where you spend $50 minimum each time (every second month) and during the year you will get to take advantage of the hostess benefits when it is your turn. I have a few spots available for clubs starting in the new year. If you would like to be part of one of my clubs, or if you have a group of interested people who would like to start their own... then please click HERE to register your interest. Clubs are filled on a first-in, first served basis. And you will get to make some awesome things! Enjoy the Diorama today :-)
