Deafgenic is a term for a system, sisasystem, or headmate whose origin is related to the trauma of, or is caused by, being deaf (D) or being hard-of-hearing (HoH).

**Update- created this as an editable file** Do you struggle finding special education caseload binder that fits for the needs of our Deaf/HOH children? Me too! I created a caseload binder for you to add information that fits your needs. It holds all the information I need access to daily on my Deaf /Hard of Hearing students. I refer to it daily when lesson planning, during meetings, and when I am surprised by a parent phone call/visit about a student. This binder is a great resource to have throughout the day and at home because you never know when you will be asked a question about a student, whether it is by another teacher, administrator, or parent. The data charts really help me keep assessment data up to date so I am always ready for IEP's and parent conferences without doing a bunch of prep work! The contents of this binder are as follows: Student’s information and hearing history Daily hearing aid check Daily cochlear implant check Interpreter information (optional) Related service team information Parent/teacher contact log Team member contact log Introduction to new concept/vocabulary Daily report for understanding IEP snapshot IEP Summary IEP at glance Student data sheet IEP goal progress IEP goal tracker IEP reading goal tracker Running record (100 words) Running record (50 words) Running record reading rate Vocabulary words bank Bridging words bank Meeting notes Birthdays Year at a glance Monthly calendar Lesson plan template. Thank you for viewing this product! I would love to hear if this product has helped you in your teaching, leave any feedbacks!

Self-advocacy for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students can cover so many topics, so I made it easy by making one page lessons to cover all the necessities! These lessons are no prep one page lessons. Simply print and bring to your sessions to cover many different self-advocacy topics. I keep mine in a page protector and use them over and over. Topics Included In Every Lesson: Listening Check Amplification Accommodations My Hearing Loss Social Skills Audiology The Ear Communication Repair Troubleshooting 3 Levels of Difficulty: Level 1: Ideal for young elementary Level 2: Ideal for upper elementary/middle Level 3: Ideal for middle/high school These are rough guidelines. Some of my older kids have huge gaps in self-advocacy knowledge and benefit from using the lower level sheets as well. Includes 12 lessons and a word bank for overall vocabulary review. Meant to spark discussion and conversation between teacher and student. Some prompts have spaces to write, fill in, or select answers, and some are conversation prompts. These are best used in a one-to-one or small group setting that allows for discussion. Since each page covers so many topics, I use mine to determine which areas my students need more focus on.
