This product will allow you to easily integrate a daily "On this Day in History" fact of the day into your Warm Up and/or Bellringer routine! Historical facts for each day of the month organized into an easy powerpoint, journal and bulletin board. I have organized these facts in a variety of ways so that you can choose what best fits you! This product began when I started failing miserably with keeping up with writing an "On This Day in History" fact on the whiteboard outside my room everyday. It seemed so simple, but ended up being just ONE MORE THING I had to keep up with. I started brainstorming on how I could still integrate an "Event of the Day" but be effective this time. This product contains all the ways I have integrated an "On This Day in History" fact in my classroom. When you purchase this product you have all these options: Option 1: Powerpoint & Bound Journal Display the powerpoint without prompts on your projector. This slide provides the event of the day and extra details to provide context for your students. Print the journal and bind/staple/hole punch so that they have the journal for the month. The journal has a shortened version of the event of the day and a response questions. Collect the journals at the end of the month for assessment or simply have them collect them as the year goes on. Option 2: Powerpoint & Weekly Response Sheet Display the powerpoint without prompts on your projector. This slide provides the event of the day and extra details to provide context for your students. Print the journal entries for a single week front–to-back so that Mon-Wed are on one side of the paper, and Thurs-Fri are on the back. Collect each week to check for understanding. Option 3: Powerpoint Only Display the powerpoint with prompts on your projector. This slide provides the event of the day and extra details to provide context for your students, and then has the response question from the journals. Students can respond on paper or in a composition book. Option 4: Bulletin Board Print the powerpoint without prompts to display on a bulletin board in your room. Consider printing, laminating and hole punching at the top and using rings to create a flip chart you can just flip each day. Students can read at their leisure. I also have displayed these outside my door for students to peruse in the hallway. Bulletin board letters also included in this bundle! Option 5: Interactive Bulletin Board Print the powerpoint with prompts to display on a bulletin board in your room. Consider printing, laminating and hole punching at the top and using rings to create a flip chart you can just flip each day. Students can read at their leisure, then respond on a sheet of paper. I also have displayed these outside my door, or on a whiteboard for students to peruse in the hallway and write their response on the whiteboard around the poster. Bulletin board letters also included in this bundle! All of these items are designed with a modern, clean look that focuses on the content and is in black and white- no need for color printing. These are designed to look fabulous printed on plain white paper, or if you're feeling fancy, colored copy paper. This contains facts for everyday in September, including weekends. The Journal contains only the facts and prompts for weekdays for the school year. There will be an update on the Journal each summer with free updates for life. Like this product? Good News! This Product is a part of a MONEY SAVING BUNDLE Questions? Please use the Q&A function if there is any information I can provide you to help you determine if this is the product for you or not!
