“God will strengthen,” from the Hebrew. Of the Biblical Hezekiahs, the most prominent was a king of Judah, a contemporary of Isaiah.
As we studied Hezekiah for this lesson, the kids and I built walls and learned how to build up our faith, a great takeaway for a Hezekiah lesson.

These preschool Bible lessons are created and used at home, so there are some basic preschool learning skills printables added to each post. The Bible lesson and Bible printables are suitable for home or Bible class use. This week we discussed H is for King Hezekiah. Hezekiah became 13th King of Judah when he was 25 years old. He was a king for 29 years. (2 Kings 18:2) Hezekiah was a very good king. He repaired the temple where the people worshipped God. King Hezekiah removed the idols. God had said "Do not make or worship idols." He also asked the people to return for the yearly Passover Feast. God had told His people to remember each year that He saved the Israelites with the 10 Plagues. He followed God and His commandments. (2 Kings 18:1-7) King Hezekiah became very sick and almost died. Isaiah the prophet went to visit him and told Hezekiah to put everything in order before he died. Hezekiah prayed and said that he had been faithful to God. Then Hezekiah cried because he was so sad. But, before Isaiah had even left, God told Isaiah to go back to Hezekiah. God said that He heard Hezekiah's prayer and would heal him! God said Hezekiah would live another 15 years! God hears our prayers. He doesn't always answer them with what we ask, but with what He thinks we need. (2 Kings 20:1-11) Hezekiah was faithful to God. He did what was 'good and right and true'. All the work he did was according to the law and commandments of God. Hezekiah put his whole heart into his works and he prospered (did well). (2 Chronicles 31:20) As I talked about Hezekiah, the kids acted out the lesson. It was short for preschoolers, but I mostly wanted them to understand that when we pray, we are praying to God. He always hears our prayers. He answered Hezekiah's prayers by helping him get better. But, God doesn't always give us what we pray for. Print the Hezekiah picture to color here. Click here to download the updated visuals. All are not Shown. Click here to download the pictures to color. (These are the same as the visuals but are black & white.) H is for heart, hand and hammer. I purchased heart sticker foamies for the heart page, but you could use stickers, hand cut them or use a diecut machine to cut them. We painted their hands to make the prints for the handprints page. The hammers are included in the download for the student to cut and glue. Print these here. The kids love these long-legged 'anythings'! So, adding the H is for Heart shape this week, they made these also! I will be adding all the shapes to the letters as we make them. Click here for the template. H is for House. You can download the house freebie here. The H for Hippo was purchased here. You can download the free alphabet crowns (they wore for King Hezekiah) here. They love puppets so I found this free horse paper bag puppet printable here. Also, the H is for horse was purchased here. I found a lot of the alphabet letter ideas and projects on Pinterest. You can see more on my H is for ... Alphabet Pinterest board here.
This week we are moving forward with our lessons about King Hezekiah. The KIDDOS will be learning about King Hezekiah's life being extended. The story comes from 2 Kings 20 and Isaiah 38. I LOVE seeing our WALL of INFORMATION GROWING!!!! It make is so easy to REVIEW PAST lessons!!! I am excited about teaching this lesson. The KIDDOS will get to learn all about the Miracle that occurred with a SUNDIAL. This is such an exciting lesson. This is our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" CARD. We have two new words to add to our "WORD WALL." I want to make sure the KIDDOS understand what a BOIL and SUNDIAL have to do with this story. The KIDDOS will have a new MEMORY VERSE this week. I feel like this is a good MEMORY VERSE for this LESSON. PRAYER changes EVERYTHING!!! I want the KIDDOS to understand the BLESSING of PRAYER!!! If you would like to hear the TUNE to our NEWEST MEMORY VERSE please click the link. It will route you to the FACEBOOK page for Hands On Bible Teacher. Psalm 55:17, Memory Verse Song . We will be singing the ENTIRE SONG this week! I am excited to teach the SECOND VERSE!! YAY! If you would like to hear how this song goes please click on the link. It will route you to the FACEBOOK page for Hands On Bible Teacher. Hezekiah Was A Good and Righteous King Song. The KIDDOS TAKE HOME PROJECT is a "SUN DIAL" The sundial is made from inexpensive paper plates, scrap cardstock paper, and little printed paper suns. The KIDDOS will get to use MARKERS to color their Sundial. Then the KIDDOS will attach the "ARROW" part of the Sundial. Then the KIDDOS will glue on the little paper suns. I think they turned out really cute.....I hope the KIDDOS enjoy making them. Our REVIEW game this week is called "Shadows, Shadows Everywhere" matching game. The KIDDOS will answer a question from the lesson and then have the opportunity to turn over a set of cards and attempt to find the "SHADOW" match for the "REAL" picture they turned over. I purposefully left a SPACE between the REAL and the SHADOW...that way it will be a bit easier for the KIDDOS to know to pick one card from one side and one from the other side. Next week the KIDDOS will make this and add it to their EXPLORER JOURNAL. After coloring King Hezekiah, sick in his bed they will add a 3D crown and color and add the Sundial. I am LOVING the progress the KIDDOS are making. They seem to recalling PAST lessons and enjoying the current lessons. It is truly a blessing teaching the KIDDOS!!! Blessings, Ronda
Scripture: 2 Kings 18-20 & 2 Chronicles 31:20 Hezekiah was the son of King Ahaz. Ahaz was the king of Judah. Hezekiah was 25 years old when he became the 13th king of Judah, and Hezekiah was the king for 29 years in Jerusalem. Hezekiah did what was right in the sight of the Lord. Hezekiah repaired the temple and took down the idols that the people had been worshipping. (2 Chronicles 29:3) God said 'Do not have idols!' God had told Moses to make a bronze serpent for the people to look at when they were bitten by a snake while they were in the wilderness. But, over time, the people started to worship it and burn incense to it. Hezekiah knew that was wrong, so he broke it into pieces. (2 Kings 18:4) King Hezekiah trusted God. The Bible tells us in 2 Kings 18:5-6 that there wasn't any other king of Judah before or after him that was like him. Hezekiah stayed faithful to God, always following Him. He kept God's commandments that had been given to Moses. The Lord was with King Hezekiah and he prospered (did well) everywhere he went. The King of Assyria sent a great army to Jerusalem. They were standing at the aqueduct and called to King Hezekiah. Some of King Hezekiah's men went out to talk to them. They made fun of them and mocked King Hezekiah. (19) The army wanted Hezekiah's people to make a pledge to the king of Assyria, and shouted to everyone that the king of Assyria would win the fight and they shouldn't listen to King Hezekiah! King Hezekiah will not win the battle! Don't listen to King Hezekiah! When King Hezekiah heard about this, he tore his clothes and went into the temple. He sent his men to find Isaiah the prophet. (2 Kings 19:2) Isaiah told them to tell the king that the Lord has spoken and said not to be afraid. God said the King of Assyria will hear a rumor and will return home. He will die by the sword in his own land. King Hezekiah prayed to God to save the people. God told Isaiah the prophet that the King of Assyria would not fight in their city. Here is what happened. During the night, the angel of God went out and went to the Assyrian camp. The angel killed 185,000 people. When the people got up early the next morning, they found all the people dead. So, the king of Assyria returned home and stayed at Nineveh. (35-36) 2 Chronicles 31:20 Hezekiah was faithful to God. He did what was 'good and right and true'. All the work he did was according to the law and commandments of God. Hezekiah put his whole heart into his works and he prospered (did well). Click here to download. We are officially back to normal around here. It is AMAZING what a VACATION and a NEW GRAND BABY can do to your schedule!! But, it was soooo worth the "interruption." We are have been so BLESSED. While I was away the KIDDOS had a few REVIEWS and were allowed to "make" their favorite KING and PROPHET. I was THRILLED at these projects!!! I LOVE the KIDDOS reasoning for choosing the King/Prophet that they chose. This SUNDAY we will have a BRAND NEW Lesson!!!!! We are still learning about King Hezekiah, but this lesson is about his TRUSTING GOD!! This comes from the events when Sennacherib was attempting to attack Judah. Sennacherib had scare tactics and a LARGE army....Hezekiah was concerned and consulted Isaiah and GOD for help. This lesson is from 2 Kings 18-19. We have a NEW card to add to our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" wall/timeline! This picture represents King Hezekiah in the Temple, laying the letter from Sennacherib out and praying to GOD. The KIDDOS will have a new word for our "WORD WALL." This is an IMPORTANT word to know...it will help the KIDDOS understand the story. I felt this was a PERFECT memory verse for this LESSON. After all, that is what King Hezekiah did--He cast all his cares upon GOD. If you would like to hear the TUNE for this Memory Verse, just click on the LINK below. It will reroute you to the Facebook page for Hand On Bible Teacher. https://www.facebook.com/photo.phpv=565828186806620&set=vb.315861918469916&type=2&theater We will be singing this song again for this lesson. ONLY the FIRST VERSE. If you would like to hear this song, click on the link. It will take you to the Facebook Page of Hands On Bible Teacher. https://www.facebook.com/photo.phpv=546644648724974&set=vb.315861918469916&type=2&theater I decided to make a "sandbox" style visual aid. I have each of the MAIN characters accounted for... Those with King Hezekiah: Isaiah, Eliakim, Shebna, and Joah. Those with Sennacherib: Tartan, Rabsaris, and the Rabshakeh. My plan is to MOVE the "Temple" forward and then add King Hezekiah in the praying position and the letter! I could NOT find a visual aid for this lesson. So, I had to make them. I HOPE the KIDDOS love them. The KIDDOS will be making a type of PRAYER Book as their TAKE HOME project. Each page of the BOOK has something we are supposed to be PRAYING about. Our FAMILY! The KIDDOS will be allowed to draw their family or add Smiley Face stickers to represent their family member. Our FRIENDS! Again, the KIDDOS will have the option of drawing their friends or using stickers. Our LEADERS! We have FOUR elders that we PRAY for and we PRAY for the LEADERS of our Country. Again, the KIDDOS can DRAW or use stickers. Our TEACHERS. We pray for our Bible Class Teachers and our Teachers at School. Our FEARS. I want the KIDDOS to know that GOD cares about their fears. Just like HE cared about Hezekiah and the people of Jerusalem. To represent some of our fears I drew DARKNESS, a Snake and a Spider. I am not really afraid of the dark...but, WATCH out if their is a Snake or a Spider around me...I REALLLLY do not like either one of those creatures. We Pray for the Sick and Weak. I will have the KIDDOS add names to the fingers of people we know that are sick or weak. We pray about our own Wants and Needs. I am hoping to use this LESSON as an opportunity to STRESS the importance of PRAYER!! Our Review Game is called: "CASTING CARES - Ball Game." The KIDDOS will each have the opportunity to toss a ball and then answer the question from the cup their ball lands in...I am sure you can see HOW easy this was to put together. Muffin Pans from Dollar Tree, Balls from Dollar Tree and I just printed questions onto circles of various colors. Next week the KIDDOS will be making this activity to add to their Explorer Journals. They will add jewels to the crown and the "LETTER" that Hezekiah spread out before GOD. I have a paper "spring" attached to the backs of the "LETTERS" ----that gives them the 3D effect!!! I am excited about this lesson---It will be NICE to be back to NORMAL Lessons and procedures!!!! I am a BIG fan of normalcy. Blessings, Ronda

This week our Lesson is about King Hezekiah. We are focusing on Hezekiah having a HEART that LOVED GOD. As you can see from the pic our Interactive Information WALL is BULGING with information. I love how this WALL of information GROWS as we LEARN more and more of GOD'S WORD. We have a KING HEZEKIAH card to add to our "GOD'S AWESOME PLAN FOR MAN" wall. We have a NEW word for our WORD WALL. Since Hezekiah PROSPERED, I want the KIDDOS to know what the word Prospered means. Our Memory Verse for this weeks lesson is Psalm 34:10. I thought this would be a GOOD verse to go along with the lesson. I will point out how Hezekiah sought GOD and he did not lack any good thing....So we must seek GOD and we will not lack any good thing. We have a NEW SONG to learn with this lesson....We will sing this one several times over the next few weeks. The KIDDOS TAKE HOME activity is a type of MOBILE. The KIDDOS will color the hearts and attach the hanging hearts to the BIGGER HEART. Because, I do not like for our TAKE HOME project to take up to much time....so, I have pre threaded the loops that form the chain....that way during class time the KIDDOS will just need to color and then slip it though the slit on the the BIG heart and staple it together. :-) The KIDDOS will be playing this "Pin The Tale On" type game as our REVIEW GAME. Each KIDDOS will have an opportunity to PIN on Hezekiah's Heart after answering a question from the lesson. I have 3 different masks from the KIDDOS to wear. Normally they choose the Monkey of Bear....they LOVE it when I get out the MASKS. :-) Next week, during our REVIEW DAY the KIDDOS will be doing this activity for their EXPLORER JOURNAL activity. They will color King Hezekiah and then add Jewels to Hezekiah's Crown and a 3D heart sticker that say "LOVES GOD." I am looking forward to teaching this lesson this SUNDAY. The KIDDOS LOVE learning about a GODLY KING!!!! Blessings, Ronda

The Song Every Praise was written by Hezekiah Walker in 2013. A simple and pure song about the essence of worship and God’s presence during challenging times. This inspirational tee echoes the spirit of the uplifting gospel song, celebrating the power of praise and devotion. Crafted with love and designed for spiritual expression, it's a meaningful addition to your child's wardrobe or a thoughtful gift.
As we studied Hezekiah for this lesson, the kids and I built walls and learned how to build up our faith, a great takeaway for a Hezekiah lesson.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK Title:Ikoko Aje (Poetry for the Goddess of Wealth) Medium :acrylic on canvas Size: 40x50 inches Year: 2023 Aje (Monday): This is the day on which money joined Orisa on earth and is known as the day of money. Yoruba people use this day to start business, and to discuss economic and financial programs. Ajé The orisha of wealth, economic enterprise, business, economic success in the Yoruba religion, believed to be a daughter of Olókun. Aje took its roots from Ile-Ife, being the traditional home of the Yoruba culture and tradition. Believed to be the custodian of economic activities, wealth and prosperity, came from the nooks and crannies of the country to celebrate the deity. Olokun is believed to be the parent of Aje, the orisha of great wealth and of the bottom of the ocean. Olokun is revered as the ruler of all bodies of water and for the authority over other water deities. If someone is working, you would say eku ise, meaning greetings for your work. The same thing too, if you see a business person or trader, for instance, you would greet, eku oro aje, meaning greetings over Aje's matter. You could also ask, se Aje wa? Meaning hope Aje is around? Oriki Aje: Praise Poetry for the Goddess of Wealth and Prosperity If one doesn’t work, one doesn’t earn money. It is said that Aje gives one the opportunity to earn money. Yorubas have a greeting for every situation. For instance, if people are just sitting down and relaxing, your greeting to them would be eku joko, meaning greetings for sitting. If someone is working, you would say eku ise, meaning greetings for your work. The same thing too, if you see a business person or trader, for instance, you would greet, eku oro aje, meaning greetings over Aje’s matter. You could also ask, se Aje wa? Meaning hope Aje is around? That’s a loose direct translation but to translate into English properly, that question is asking if there have been sales or opportunities to make money.
