Hello there, today marks the release of the My Favorite Things August stamps, dies, paper, stencils and much more! This release has a very autumnal/fall and Halloween feel to it and there are some super fun sets. For my card today, I thought I would use the fun new Hey, Ghoul Die and Rolling Clouds Stencil. I started off my card by die cutting the ghost from the MFT Hey, Ghoul Die-Namics set. I die cut the main body from white cardstock. I added a small piece of tape to the back, so that I could piece in the eyes and mouth from black cardstock. I then cut the cheeks from pink and adhered them on top with glue. I cut the 'hey!' portion of the sentiment three times from white cardstock (with Stick It Adhesive on the back) and layered them up one on top of another. I took an A2 white card base and using the MFT Rolling Clouds Stencil, blended on Distress Inks for the clouds. I started at the top using Black Soot and then blended down to Dusty Concord. For the first two layers of the purple, I blended over a little Black Soot as well, to darken them slightly. I then added the sentiment with the Stick It Adhesive on the back to the right hand side and the ghost to the left with foam tape. SUPPLIES: Here are the links to what I have used on the card. Hi everyone! Happy Wednesday! It's time for a new Color Throwdown Challenge, and this week, Lisa has challenged us to use orange, gray and cream! Great combo!! I had lots of fun with these colors! I began with a panel of Smooth White Card Stock, cut using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX 2 Die-namics, and using the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil, I created the background with Grout Gray Premium Dye Ink. I cut panel of Milk Chocolate Prestige Card Stock using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX 2 Die-namics, and then again using the Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics, for the "ground". I used the sweet PI Sending Blessings, and cut her, the tree and the leaves from No-Line Coloring Card Stock using the Sending Blessings Die-namics. I stamped them using Exteme Black Hybrid Ink using Sending Blessings, and then colored them all with Copic Markers. I added the images to the scene, popping her up with foam tape, and then stamped the sentiment on the top using Extreme Black Hybrid Ink. Check out what the rest of the team has created! Barbara Anders Broni Holcombe Lisa Henke Lori Tecler Lynn Put Vickie Zimmer Wanda Cullen Amy Rysavy Amy Rohl Rosemary Dennis - this month's AMAZING Guest Stamper! Sue Jackson - this week's FAB Guest Star Stamper! Thanks SO much for stopping by!
It's hard to believe that the month of February is almost upon us! However, that means that it's time for a new MFT Release Countdown! I am so excited to share the newest Stacey Yacula stamp set with you today! It's called "It's a Mice Time to Celebrate" and it's filled with a bunch of cute partying mice. As many of my followers know, I love to create box cards or cards with scenes and/or dimension. I thought that these mice would be perfect for such a card today. To start, I first created the box/base of my card. You can see a quick and simple video that I made HERE on how to create this A2 sized box frame. I then used some Blu Raspberry Card Stock and some patterned paper from the Sweet Celebration Paper Pack to decorate my box panels. I added some grass using the Grassy Fields Die-namics and some Sour Apple Card Stock. I also added some clouds in the background by blending some Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink onto a sheet of Smooth White Card Stock using the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil. Lastly, I adhered my images which I had stamped with Copic friendly Black Ink, colored with Copics, and used the coordinating dies to cut out. Make sure to stop by the MFT Blog for more sneak peeks and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 MFT Gift Voucher! Stay tuned for more peeks at the February Product Launch over the next few days! All new products will be available this coming Tuesday, February 5th at 10 AM EST! I hope you enjoyed my card today! Thanks so much for stopping by! If you liked this card and want some more crafty inspiration, don't forget to check out my INSTAGRAM feed! Wishing you all a lovely day! ♥ Rachel
It's the final Countdown Day of My Favorite Things August Release! All new products will go on sale tomorrow, August 6th at 10AM EST. Have you ever wanted to thank your favorite nurse or doctor, or both, as a team? Birdie Brown has you covered with two new sets--Call the Shots and Bedside Manner. The stamp sets and Die-namics are sold separately, but I've combined them on my card. Both images were stamped and colored, then cut with the matching Die-namics. I stamped the smaller images from both sets with Grout Gray ink on a stitched rectangle panel and adhered it to a Grout Gray Card base. The nurse was adhered directly to the card and I popped up the doctor with some dimensional adhesive. The stamped sentiment finished off the card. I inadvertently colored the images after our daughter's pediatric oncologist and nurse--Dr. Bob and Linda. Over 30 years ago, they took very good care of her and they helped us through some trying times as well. Visit today's Countdown post at My Favorite Things and don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win a $75 prize. Hope to see you here tomorrow for MFT's Release Day!
Hi everyone! Happy Tuesday! It's time for a new Color Throwdown! This week, we are up to CTD312! This was a fun card to create! I used the current Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, MOJO365, for the layout, and it’s a skinny card, 3.5 X 5.5. I really enjoy this size and will be making more this way for sure! The colors this week just screamed Halloween to me, and I’ve used the darling Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin and stamped her using Black Licorice Hybrid Ink onto X-Press It Blending Card. I colored her with Copic Markers and then fussy cut her out. I popped her up with Jody Boosters onto the Kraft Card Stock panel stamped with the Burlap Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. I used Steel Grey Card Stock for the top panel, and stamped it using the “Happy Halloween” sentiment from Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. The trio of flags were cut with Fishtail Flags STAX Die-namics and Fishtail Flags Layers STAX Die-namics. The Orange Fizz Card Stock flag was stamped with the Star Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink, the Smooth White Card Stock panel was stamped with Steel Grey Premium Dye Ink using the Diagonal Stripes Background, and the Black LIcorice Card Stock panel was stamped with the Fine Check Background using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink. I topped the flags off with a Kraft Button tied with Hemp Cord. On the inside, I cut a panel of Kraft Card Stock and stamped “Hello, Pumpkin” from Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin using Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink, and added another panel of Steel Grey Card Stock stamped with “Happy Halloween”, also from Pure Innocence Pretty Pumpkin, using Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.
