I saw this Tuesday Trigger Simple Elegance inspirational photo over on the MoxieFab World blog and wanted to play along as soon as I saw it. I had a vision in my head for a few days before I finally sat down and created my card. I created the background by inking the top of my CB Victoria embossing folder with Memento Desert Sand ink, then embossing a piece of PTI vintage cream card stock with my Big Kick machine. I was trying to mirror the soft look of the chair in the photo. I added chocolate brown card stock, ink, and ribbon to bring out the darker color of the drapes. I tried using soft pink gemstones in keeping with the inspiration photo, but they simply got lost with the chocolate colors, so I used some Swarovski brown crystals for accents on the sentiment panel. The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations by SU! Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great Sunday! Carol

This handmade, wooden display adds a tranquil sense of beauty, peace, and grounding that nature brings forth into this design. The quartz crystal amplifies your card while displaying it as a reminder throughout your daily moments. Add a flower, a candle, incense, or a crystal and your ritual just got upleveled!
Splitcoast stampers held their mini Virtual Stamp Night last night and it was a rootin tootin good time. I tried to participate in as many as I could (you still have time to check them out and play along if you want to). The Houston Sized Rodeo is August 27 and 28th and I will be hosting one of the challenges then, so make sure you ride on over and join in the fun! I am showing off a couple of my faves from the festivities last night that I put together (and one my daughter did). First up is from the Challenge to Bring on the Clowns. For this challenge they wanted us to use 4 bright colors in our card. For the bonus round they also asked that we use something that was popped up. Ok, I cheated a bit and used the bling on that one. The bird is from the Bombshell A Pirates Life Set, and I colored it up with the Copics. My second card I am showing off today is a little bit of Faux Brayering. The challenge was to brayer a sunset on the plains. As I told them over there - I TRIED. REALLY REALLY hard. I just am very very bad at it. So I cheated, and used my airbrush and Copics to create the majority of this scene. Everything is airbrushed with the exception of the sentiment (Flourishes), and the little black shrubs (Stamps by Judith). And last, but certainly not least is probably my favorite from last night - the All that Glitters challenge - the challenge was to use SEQUINS. I don't ever use those, so that was a challenge. But luckily - - my assistant (12 year old daughter) came to the rescue and made this lovely card with the sequins as snow. Didn't she do a fabulous job. I am very proud of her. Thanks for stopping by, and I hope to see you back here really soon!

Good morning! I have another project I shared at the release party to show you. I used the cameo from Timeless Treasures for this card. Here are some details... I started by stamping the image with Memento Desert Sand ink. Used E31 Copic marker to add a bit of shading. Used YR2, YR12 and YR14 to color in the background. Then I cut out the center (colored portion) of the cameo. I stamped the cameo again, this time with Versa Mark and then heat embossed it with Ranger Superfine Gold embossing powder. Then I adhered the center I had cut out. Added Crystal Lacquer to the center of the cameo. I applied a total of three coats of Crystal Lacquer, letting it dry between each coat. I wanted to show you the close-up so you could see the dimension that Crystal Lacquer has when you build it up a bit. Next, I cut an oval from Pure Luxury Ivory cardstock and sponged with Blush Blossom and Pretty in Pink (SU) ink. Sponged Apricot Appeal around the edges. Then sponged just a tiny bit with Creamy Caramel. Cut a piece of Blush Blossom cardstock (SU) and sponged around the edges with Apricot Appeal, then embossed using my Perfectly Paisley Cuttlebug folder. I cut a paper doily into fourths and sponged very lightly with Creamy Caramel (nearly a dry sponge). I layered with Pure Luxury Ivory (GKD) and Groovy Guave(retired SU). I used scalloped oval and rectangle Nestabilities to cut some layers and my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder on a layer. Also added some self adhesive pearls to the lace doilies and gold cord to "hang" my cameo from. Just a reminder about the Timeless Treasures Blog Hop tonight at 10pm Central. You don't have to stay up late to hop. The posts will still be up Tuesday, so join us whenever it is convenient for you. I'll have some blog candy, too! Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!
I typically start the card-making process by choosing a color combination, possibly because I lack confidence in my color skills, and this step holds particular importance. I tend to lean toward vibrant hues and unconventional color pairings. In the case of the card I'm sharing today, I opted for a color scheme featuring bold reds and soft blues.
Hello friends! I'm sharing cards I made using one of Love From Lizi's paper packs. Along with the monthly kits, there are a variety of other paper collections available. This is the Birthday Bonanza paper pack and it includes 16 sheets of 8x8 pattern paper. Some are specialty papers with teal foil, spot gloss, and sealed glitter. I made

Hello friends! I had the opportunity to use another Love From Lizi mega pack. This one is called I Do. It is a wedding themed mega pack. However, the paper collection works perfectly for a variety of different card themes. Sympathy, birthday, general. I even made a Christmas card! The mega packs are different from the regular monthly
August is ticking right along and students in our area have already returned to school a week ago. It really feels like summer is slipping by quickly, so I'm cranking out as many floral cards as I can before the pumpkins and Christmas themed cards begin - lol! Here is my take on Julee's sketch for the Mojo Monday Challenge. I had fully planned on using a doily for the circle element, then got a brainstorm to die cut a circle and use the negative space to sponge a circle instead! I used WPlus9's Ocean Drive ink for both the sponging and the leaves but they appear totally different. I'm thinking I must have had some residual yellow ink on my sponge which affected the color. :-/ Here's what I used: STAMPS: Hope Blooms (Verve); Sunny Days (Verve). PAPER: Spring 6x6 pad by Echo Park; White Linen CS by PTI for the card base. INK: Daffodil Delight (SU), Ocean Drive (WPlus9). MISCELLANEOUS: Yellow Stickles; Stitched rectangle dies by Lil' Inker Designs; Leafy Sprigs dies by Verve. Need some more inspiration for this sketch? Zva Creative and the Design Team welcomes you to join us this month for a blog hop that we feel is always extra special! There is now an added twist to our blog hops; as you know, Zva offers so many beautiful color groupings for pearls, flowers and crystals. We want to make sure that they shine bright for you, so each designer was asked to share a creation using a specific color or color combination on their blog hop project. The Blog Hop begins at Kim Hughes' blog. She will have the complete list of all blogs that are participating in case there is a glitch along the way. If you would like to play along, just follow along the blog path. I am linking to one of the Zva designers and that designer is linking to the next and so on. Be prepared to be inspired along the...
Hope you all don't mind if I share another project that I made weeks and weeks ago. This is something I made 'just because', with no particular person in mind. What better gift to give on a birthday than a hug? (...maybe something a little crafty might be nice, too....) This is an Inspired By Stamping sentiment. Sigh. Isn't this flower so pretty? It's from Webster's Pages. Last summer I bought their $25 clearance kit and this was in it. It comes with the pearl, so you KNOW I love that! I'll pop back in soon with another old-but-never-posted creation! Dimensions: 4.5" x 6" Stamps: Old Letter - Hero Arts; Little Phrases II - Inspired By Stamping Paper: Garden Party - DCWV; Vintage Cream, White - PTI Ink: Crumb Cake - SU Fibers: white seam binding - Hug Snug Other: Amira Flourish, Estate Fence dies - Memory Box; flower - Webster's Pages; white doily die cut, tag punch - Martha Stewart; Labels Ten die - Spellbinders

Hello friends! I decided to venture outside the usual paper companies and use a paper pad from Graphic 45. I always try to remind myself the cards aren't for me, so I should use a wide variety of paper styles. I bought their Farmhouse 8x8 paper pad along with the coordinating cardstock stickers. With the
