Lucy Locket may have lost her pocket, as the song goes, but you've just found it! This white cotton diaper-weave dimity pocket is based on two different museum examples dated to the second half of the 18th century. The fabric choice replicates a textile specified by Abigail Adams in a letter for use in making her own pockets. It is unlined, as is consistent with the document sources. The pocket is entirely hand-sewn using 18th century construction techniques seen on other extant pockets from the period. The slit opening and the edges of the pocket are bound with white cotton tape. This item is meticulously sewn to ensure 100% accuracy and would be appropriate for use in either reenacting or in a museum setting. The pocket measures approx. 16" long by 10" wide at the bottom. It comes secured to a 1/2" white cotton tape that meausures 65" long. PLEASE NOTE that this listing is for a SINGLE pocket. The third photo shows how a pair can be sewn onto a single waistband for you if you'd like to purchase a matching set. If you purchase a matching pair, please contact us to let us know whether or not you would like to have them sewn to a single waistband and how far apart you'd like the pockets to be. This item arrives to you with full period documentation and care instructions. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ CUSTOM ORDER: This item can also be created with your choice of a documented cotton print. A smaller child's size is also available upon request as a special order. Please note that a custom order may incur additional charges. Contact us to discuss details and fabric availability. Custom orders for pockets usually ship within 1-2 weeks.
This is a knitting basket I made from a felted wool sweater. I saw the tutorial on Martha Stewart's talk show, then found the tutorial on her website here. Part of it is hand sewn and other parts I used my machine. The hardest part of the thing was finding the perfect sweater at a thrift shop. I have to thank my mom for this find because she sent me this beautiful hand knit Irish sweater! I felt a little guilty felting it, but it is now filled with Noro Silk Garden and Kureyon and my most recent craft book purchase, Handknit Holidays. blogged

My First Cuddly has been designed to be baby’s first toy. It is small enough to be popped into a pocket or nappy bag, to have on hand when needed. I would recommend cotton yarn because it’s good for soaking up those dribbles; its “suckable”; chewable and washable! I have also tried a nice soft washable acrylic and this works well too. Very handy for a bit of stash busting or if you want to make a matching blanket for a new baby. There are four hat options included in the pattern. This, as with all my designs, is knitted flat and assembled. I have included a step by step assembly guide which is full of photos to help you. All babies have a favourite or special toy they attach to and want for comfort or snuggling down to sleep. How special would it be if your new little person chose your Cuddly as his favourite toy? Perhaps it would be best to make two the same in case one went missing!!

Loaded and ready to go to Canton that is! My small crew and myself have been working for weeks trying to get things ready to take to Laurie Anna's http://laurieannas.blogspot.com/ this month for the Canton show. Laurie told me to bring lot's and lots for the Fall shows, so that's what I'm doing my truck is full, from floor to ceiling. Laurie and Willie have redone the entire store and it's full of new treasures. I will be leaving in a little bit to take my things to the shop and I can't wait to see all of the goodies that she has! This is just a peek into my truck, ok.... I'm not the best at packing things! Here are just a few of the things that I will be taking to Laurie's. Our new hobo bags! It's been so hot here in Texas, but I've been hearing of a cool down, maybe down to 95 this weekend, I never thought I would be so glad to see it 95 degrees but at this point it sounds pretty good. Hope to see ya at Canton!!!
Molly's School Lunch (also known as the Brown Bag Lunch and later known as Molly's Lunchbox) was introduced to Molly's Collection in 1986, revamped in 1999, and retired in 2013 with Molly's archival. It is associated with the book Molly Learns a Lesson. Retail cost was initially $12 as the Brown Bag Lunch, then $16 with the lunchbox, and later increased to $20 and $28. The set was originally sold with paper bags, mentioning the metal shortage during World War II as the reason Molly had no lunchb

Hi, I am Stephanie Pokorny of Crochetverse! Our family is absolutely obsessed with all things Halloween and so each year I freehand crochet fully body costumes, with no pattern, for my children. Sometimes they are from classic 80s movies, other times from whatever movie or toy is popular at the time. Once they choose their costumes, I begin on bringing their costumes to life.

The purpose of this workout is to serve the needs of those somewhat familiar with basic punching techniques (possibly with a martial arts background) who are wanting to get a good workout on a heavy bag into a busy schedule. i am a father, husband, full-time student and full-time employee at Xerox, so my workouts need to fit into some pretty tight timeframes! I hope you find this workout useful to that end as well.
