Sydney - So, I'd give ya an episode of The Daily Saga, but there's not much to tell. 1. I put in another 12-hour day at the day job... ensuring not much else gets done. haha 2. No word from the program other than their auto-sending emails that tell me to go take care of my action items... which I can't do since my background check never came back, and I gave up on them. 3. The apartment complex here offered to let me move down into a 1 BR here... didn't give me a price, but it's probably about $1750 instead of $1950... adding in the costs of paying someone to move us DOWN three flights of steps and all the hassle... It'd have to be for a move that made sense.... not a move where my adult son and I were stacking up like sardines. lol So, I thanked her and told her I could get closer to $1250ish in a variety of locations since I'm a remote worker for a newer 2/2, and I really think it's just time to get out of the area. So, she'll be marking me as not renewing. I think I still need to sign something, but one way or another, ONE decision has been made. We'll be leaving here within two months. I thought it'd be closer to two weeks at the pace we were moving for a minute there, but now it's time to figure out the where. Over the weekend, I searched the entire United States, eliminating the northern half because, let's be honest, I don't like cold weather. The middle is as cold and 'snowy-ish as I can stomach. The irony?? Springfield, MO, was one of the first places that the map popped back up at me... pretty much home,... lol. . Charleston, GA, several places in TX, and Tulsa, OK, all hit the radar, too... Of course, none ticked all the boxes like New Albany, Indiana did because of the program and the co-working membership they offered, the location, the exact apartment. So, now that I've given the notice, which is a 60-day notice, and most apartments only like to talk in 'today' or the next 30 days, maybe this is for the best. I'll continue my research and see what shows up on my radar. Maybe the stars will align, and the absolute perfect scenario will present itself in the next 2-4 weeks while we're decluttering and packing up for the unknown... If you know me at all... you KNOW that the old me would love the 'jump and run' (hell, I'm still down for it as you've learned)... but packing and waiting for something to present itself... now THAT... That is testing the patience virtue in me like it's rarely been tested. Haha. So... here we go... trusting that I'm doing the right thing and that SOMEHOW the perfect home/price/location/near a job for my son in a safe neighborhood, on a ground floor, or with an elevator for our scooters, etc etc etc... is going to present itself... ALLLLLLLL at a lower price per month than we're currently paying. If you have any spare energy to send our way... we appreciate all the positivity you care to spare! <3
