Part of the last request included a cab simulator to run the headphone amp through. The ROG Condor is a great cab sim and has a fairly low parts count. It uses a JFET amplifier at the input, boosting the signal to drive the following 3 filters (Bridged-T notch filter, High-pass filter, and Low-pass filter). Much more info on the circuit can be found here, as well as a few mods. J201 apparently sounds the best for Q1, but similar DSG pinout JFETs will also work. Any dual opamps can be used for the 2 ICs, so socket and try the usual candidates (TL072, JRC4558, etc).

Here the Univox SuperFuzz with the mods done by FSB member derringer. It replaces the stock tone switch with a pot, as well as a few other useful mods. Socket the 2 ceramic caps going from the base to collector on Q1 and Q6 and try some different values (I'm guessing in the 100pf to 500pf range). This one's a little on the wide side, so you'd be hard pressed to fit it in a 1590B, but it should fit quite nicely in a 1590BB.

While I know we've posted this previously, I found this layout to be one of the more useful ones. Look into our archives / previous posts for more Valvecaster layouts. Power source I was getting better results with 12v 1A, see Garth's 24v version below. -K Another idea is to incorporate a boost of your own choice (i prefer the alembic stratoblaster) and hook that up before C1 . This gives the pedal an extra boost to the circuit so it distorts more. I would use separate pots for this, not a dual pot.
