Hi, happy Friday! Today it's Cardmaking Friday at the Graphic 45 blog and therefore I have a new card to share. I have fallen in love with the gorgeous Botanical Tea collection the minute I saw it. T
Hello everyone! Today I would love to share with you a project using the gorgeous Graphic 45 Ocean Blue Collection!! This is a beautiful collection of papers featuring images of all things Ocean. It is truly a favorite of mine. As a designer I love all things paper crafts and I love to create albums, cards, folios, and home decor. When I am finished with my larger projects I always keep my scraps to create with later. It is amazing what you can do with those leftovers and scraps! let me share with you my process. First I sort the scraps and leftover papers by size, starting with the larger pieces down to the smallest. Once I have them separated I set the larger ones that can be used for card fronts and mattes aside. Next I look through all of the smaller pieces and pick out those with beautiful images that I am able to fussy cut. I then fussy cut the images and place them in a container. To create this beautiful trio I gathered up the scraps and fussy cuts along with 3 5x7 kraft card bases, Navy and Ivory cardstock, and some small things from my stash such as ribbon and chippies. I used the Large Tag, ATC Tag & Flower Dies to create paper flowers from some of the scraps to embellish with. Card 1: Navy Matte - 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 Ivory Matte - 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 Background G45 Ocean Blue - Kauai 4 1/4 x 6 1/4 For this card I created a chipboard porthole wrapped with the papers and jute string. Fussy cuts were adhered at different levels using foam adhesive squares for dimension. Card 2: Navy Matte - 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 Ivory Matte - 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 Background - G45 Ocean Blue - Fiji - 4 1/4 X 3 1/2 G45 Ocean Blue - Antigua - 4 1/4 X 3 1/2 These two were placed on top and bottom and wrapped with a canvas/starfish ribbon and adhered to the base. A Kraft ATC Tag covered in G45 Ocean Blue Capri, fussy cuts, and a sticker sentiment. Card 3: Navy Matte - 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 This card background was made using strips of various sizes of the scraps and a 4 5/8" X 2 1/4 strip of Capri along the bottom. These were brought together in the middle with a strip of braided jute and the paper flowers were placed along with fussy cuts and a framed cutaway sentiment card. Inside the cards: Navy Matte - 4 3/4 x 6 3/4 Ivory Matte - 4 1/2 X 6 1/2 Strips from the G45 Ocean Blue cutaways What a fun way to use scraps!! I hope you agree and will create something beautiful with yours today too! Thanks so much for visiting my blog and viewing my post today. Hugs, Jenn Be sure to follow the blog at Graphic 45 for lots of inspiration!
Hey there Paper Peeps! I super love the project I’m sharing today. I got my delivery of Graphic 45 Gilded Lily and was really just blown away at how great my Really Reasonable Ribbon Trims ma…
Graphic 45 announced their top 30 Finalists yesterday! Read all about it HERE! You may notice that my name is NOT on that list. Well, per the new rules, a designer may only serve on the team for two years and then he or she must take a year off before reapplying. As my long-time readers know, I have been on the G45 team for three years now, starting in April 2010. Last year, when they instituted the new "2-year rule," they allowed members of the 2011 team to reapply for a third year; they sort of "grandfathered" us in. Thankfully! I am proud that I have been with Graphic 45 for 3 of their 5 years as a company! I have learned a lot in the past three years and grown as an artist. I thought it might be fun to share with you my favorite projects from each year I was on the team. (Just a note, my current term lasts until May 31st! More lovely things to come!) I started with Graphic 45 in April 2010 and the first collections I was given to work with were A Proper Gentleman and On the Boardwalk (both are retired, but you may be able to find them online at places like Overstock.com). I created this set of cards to show how you can use Graphic 45 with images colored with Copics. This is On the Boardwalk! But I used for a fall-themed card! When you look at the paper as "background" rather than "theme," you get more use out of the paper! Steampunk was also released in 2010 (I think! It gets hard to remember!) This layout was published in a magazine. I think it was my first layout ever published in a print magazine! This is a little "luggage tag" book that I made with a mix of papers, such as Communique, Transatlantique, On the Boardwalk, and other older collections. This is one of the first "big" mini album projects I made for Graphic 45. The collection is an older one called Fashionista. This was my favorite tag from 2010, using the Christmas Past collection. This is still my favorite Christmas Collection. I love to pair it with the newer (but still old) Christmas Emporium Collection. I have hoarded a bunch of both! Here are my two favorite cards from my very first CHA 2010. That's when Halloween in Wonderland and Steampunk Debutante came out. I think Le' Romantique came out in 2010 also. Like I said, it's hard to remember! I made the mini album below for a class I was teaching. It is one of my favorite little minis. At the time I love shaped mini books and they were all the rage! Here is one using On the Boardwalk. When 2011 came around, I was not sure I'd make the team again, but I tried out anyway. I was really happy that they kept me on! Here are some of my favorites from that year. Christmas Emporium was released that year, along with some Core'dinations cardstock to match G45 papers. I created this layout for CHA that year. Curtain Call, one of my favorites of the G45 line. I love the black and kraft theme. This is probably my all-time favorite project ever. It's an altered tray that I made for my scrap area. I made this just after the Metal Staples came out. It is on a shelf in my entryway. I think the paper is Le Cirque. This is a wall hanging made with Christmas Emporium. I have it hanging in my craft area. This is an altered G45 box. I used Le' Romantique and some of the Metal Staples. And a now a few cards using Curtain Call. I think these were for CHA that year. And below is my favorite tag of the year, using Curtain Call and Steampunk. One last card from 2011, using Once Upon A Springtime. I was so fortunate to get a "bonus" year with Graphic 45 in 2012. I cannot tell you how happy I was to find out they were keeping me on for YEAR THREE! Here are some of my favorites from 2012. (It is really hard to pick favorites since I make so many projects!!!) I used a bunch of collections for this layout, including Old Curiosity Shoppe. This is perhaps my all-time favorite G45 layout. It hangs in my scrap area. I really think I had my major rock star crafter hat on the day I made this. {grin} I used some older collections here, but also An ABC Primer, which remains one of my very favorite collections. My favorite tag from 2012, using Christmas Emporium. And maybe even some Christmas Past. (This may really be from 2011, I totally cannot remember!) Kraft Reflections and Old Curiosity Shoppe came out in 2012. I really like this layout. I was getting my altered art on here. I love making mini albums, and this was my favorite from 2012. I really love working with Olde Curiosity Shoppe! Altered art is fun, but I get a bit sick of having it hang around after I am finished with it. This project is an exception. I love it and it sits in my scrap area! I used A Ladies' Diary for this project. I love the black and pastel mix! Sometimes I get asked to create things for the Graphic 45 newsletter, and the project below is one that I made for that. I will admit that Happy Haunting is not up there with my list of favorites, but I paired it here with An ABC Primer and A Place in Time (which came out in November 2012). Tropical Travelogue was also not high on my list of favorites, but I adore how this layout turned out. This was for the CHA that year. (I cannot say I ever down right dislike a G45 collection, but I admit there are some I like less than others.) I have made a lot of projects with Little Darlings, but this tag that I made for CHA is one of my favorite projects using that line. Let's call the rest of these "2013" projects since they were made with collections that came out in January 2013. Place in Time was actually released in November, but it also debuted at the show in January. I love the vintage images in this collection. I had been "howling" for these images in a collection for a while, and it was awesome to see the idea "make the cut"! This card is part of my Place in Time Card Series. I really love this one! I made twelve cards for the set and my two favorite are the June and the January cards. My favorite layout so far in 2013 is this one below that I made with the new Secret Garden collection. I am in love with the green and purple in this collection! My new all-time favorite collection is the new French Country collection. I just sit and gaze at it! So pretty! I made this mini with the new G45 easel album and French Country. My favorite tag for 2013 was at CHA and uses a bunch of collections, all in the kraft and black theme! I love this one! This tag has 9 G45 Staples on it! These next projects sort of "go" together. I made the mini album first, in December, and then cheated off myself to make this card for Valentine's Day. {wink} I adore this next project. I love me a mini and this one just turned out too sweet for words! I hope you enjoyed this walk through the past three years of Graphic 45! I am sad that I won't be on the team for 2013....but you haven't seen the last of me....wait and see........
Recently I finished teaching a box and card set with Graphic 45's Couture line. I kept the box and cards simple so the set could be made in a 3 hour class. The cards don't have too many thick embellishments on them so 5 could fit in the box. Rather than decorating the whole box I put the elegant peacock paper on the backside of it and made a belly band that slides on and off. The picture and layer behind it are die cut with ovals and the peacock feather is tucked behind them. I put a little piece of black paper behind the heart opening and inked the edges black. I used the whole sheet called "Beautiful" for the belly band and cards. It was the inspiration for this class. Here are the 5 cards. They all have black bases and are A-2 sized. Tiny flowers are made by Maya Road. The pearl and rhinestone flower is made by Maya Road. The scroll die cut is by My Favorite Things. I taught this class 9 times. The boxed set is good for a gift and many students made duplicates. I had a great time designing this class and teaching it too! Stamps: Impression Obsession - Peacock, Graphic 45 Couture Set #3 for insides of cards Ink: Versafine - Onyx Black, Cat's Eye - Blackbird Chalk, Distress Ink - Broken China Paper: Graphic 45 - Couture 12 x 12, Neenah Black Linen Dies: Impression Obsession - Peacock Feather, MFT scroll, Spellbinders Labels 28, Nellie's Dies - Ovals Other: black rhinestones, 2mm pearls, May Arts black lace, Maya Road flowers & Pearl flowers, Envelope Punch Board (for box)
Hi everyone, I hope you had a great week! This is a special post today, I am auditioning for the Graphic 45 2014 Design Team. It would be an absolute dream and privilege to be part of Graphic 45. I have loved their designs and graphics ever since their first release. Most of you that know me know that I love anything vintage. So, grab a cup of coffee and have a seat this is going to be a much longer post than normal, enjoy! This first project was done with one of their newest collections called Botanical Tea, I love the colors. This is a rather large piece and there's plenty of room for lots of storage in both compartments. I love detail work and fussy cutting. Now this next project was done with another new collection called By The Sea. This project is very functionable as well, it can hold all kinds of little trinkets and treasures. Here are some close-up photos of all the fussy cutting and layering. This was a card I made using the Botanical Tea collection. Love the Graphic 45 metal staple pieces, they always add so much to a project. I made some fun tags using By The Sea. I love charms and baubles hanging off the tags and mini books that I make so, for this particular one I ended up using some of the paper from the collection and making my own charms. This is a scrapbook page from their Oriental collection called Bird Song. Again lots of fussy cutting and I love Glossy Accent so Í accented many areas on this layout. My final two projects that I'm sharing are a couple of mini books that I made to teach and I just really liked the collections. This first one is from the collection French Country, gorgeous artwork but I think I say that with every collection. This last project was from their Halloween collection Steampunk Spells. I hope you have enjoyed all of my projects. So wish me luck, cross your fingers... it would be an absolute dream to be a part of Graphic 45 Design Team. Thanks for looking! Oh my, have you seen Graphic 45's "Secret Garden" decorator paper? What a lovely pad of sweet prints...the illustrations remind me of early grade school days and the illustrations in books that I was learning to read. So special! The 8X8" paper pad includes precious image panels (so many to choose from!!!) that you can cut out and layer to create a quick and easy card...no stamping today! Sharon has also put together a Secret Garden Silk Sampler...gorgeous! You can see all Secret Garden products HERE. Here's a closeup: The image panel is layered over a Natural with Gold Cluny Lace border, then fancied up with a May Art's Champagne Silk bow, tied with a Bow Easy, and tiny Prima Miss Godiva Caramel blossoms. All supplies for today's project are from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store. Thanks so much for stopping by!

I am sharing the Graphic 45 Time to Flourish April class project sheet with you today. (Graphic 45 shared on their blog HERE.) Each class in this series contains two cards and two tags (three tags this month) using the matching monthly papers from Time to Flourish! Click HERE to print your step-by-step directions for these five projects! For the April class, we are using the April Flourish and Cut Apart sheets from Time to Flourish, as well as the Decorative Stickers sheet. Our Staples item this month is Antique Metal Door Pulls, which come two to a package. The techniques this month are "what's hidden?" as we make use of hidden panels, and fussy cutting! For the first card, I flipped the door pull upside down and used it as a "vase" for the flowers and postage images. The fussy cut images are so pretty when layered. I created a hidden panel on the front of the card, which is also a pocket! The front of card two not only contains a little hidden booklet, tied closed with twine, but this style of card is a fun way to use up scraps! The tags this month are the Ivory Artist Trading Tags. Since these tags are small, we will make THREE! Tag one contains the second door pull and more fussy cut flowers. For tag two, I used some of the fun sticker elements from the sticker sheet. Tag three is another example of fussy cutting that pretty paper! To print the step-by-step project sheets for all the available months, click each link below. January February March April Remember, these project sheets are released to the Retail Stores the second week of each month. The Consumer's get to see these on the blog on the first week of the following month - which gives the stores time to teach the classes locally. That means you get to see the May set in the beginning of June. For the seasonal projects that are coming to you "late" just think of it as making your cards and tags for next year! It never hurts to get ahead! Thanks for stopping by!
I follow a blog called In My Little Korner and this lady makes absolutely stunning cards. I love them. So after seeing this post by Kathy, I cased it and made the four cards you see below, using dies, lace, seam binding, cheesecloth and doilies. I didn't change a lot because I loved Kathy's version so much but had to improvise due to the different card sizes...eg metric and imperial. Thanks for visiting today,
Spring is here, so more cards to create inspired by spring are planned. За окном такое солнце, дома у нас так тепло, а выйдешь на улицу - ветер ледяной. вот такой обман зрения почти. The cards I mad

You definitely need this collection 'cause it is FABULOUS!! It is bright, it is bold, it is vintage, and it is wonderful!! This layout along with a really great mini from fellow teamie Arlene, is featured on G45's blog today. I hope you'll stop by and take a peek and leave a comment for a chance to win the most awesome An Eerie Tale collection! I decided to create a fun layout of myself with a photo that was taken at CHA Las Vegas 2013,visiting, what else, but the Graphic 45 booth! The bright and bold colors of World's Fair are some of my favorites, and the vintage images in this collection are just so fantastic!! I fussy cut the main image from the title page and layered it with several different patterned papers from the collection. I also fussy cut some flowers and leaves The photo, all of the words as well as many of the elements, have been popped up with foam tape so that they really stand out. In these closeups you can really see the dimension that is added by popping up different elements on the layout. Petaloo's Botanica collection of flowers really go great with this collection! Thanks for visiting me today!!

I'm not going to sugar coat it, there are things about this project that are a pain in the rump... but the end result is super duper cool. I mean, who doesn't need flying zeppelin boat sky vessel? I came up with this project a fair long while ago after watching Stardust a million times. Sky pirates? Heck yeah! How could I resist the inspiration? I've updated the project by adding some chipboard elements from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts. They add amazing detailing without adding bulk or weight. I've used pieces from the Gears Shape Set along with Propellers, painting these elements a sort of coppery gold for a metallic effect. But it's the addition of the chipboard Hinges that I think really add something to my sky vessel. They help to give the impression that this zeppelin is way more ornate with their addition. Finally, I've added some bits from the Keys & Plates Shape Set. I'm sure my sky pirates feel rather posh with all those additional bits and bobs! If you'd like to try making your own paper zeppelin, I've created a video walk through HERE. I highly recommend doing a dry run of the balloon and boat elements before cutting into your 'good paper'. There IS a learning curve to fitting the bits together and this is NOT a beginner project. But! If you're feeling adventurous and looking to make something really nifty, here are all the supplies you'll need: Gears Shape Set Propellers Hinges Keys & Plates Shape Set Balloon and Boat Template (see below) 12" scrapbook paper (I've used papers from Graphic 45's Master Detective Colletion for the sample) Brass Brads Thin doweling or wooden skewars Acrylic Paint Ribbon White glue Hot glue
Welcome! I am very excited to share the NEW Graphic 45 A Ladies' Diary collection with you today! StopAndScrap has this collection and MORE on pre-order! Since I am on the Graphic 45 design team, I have already gotten my hands on this fantastic paper! This is one of my NEW favorites in the Graphic 45 catalog! I love the soft colors paired with dark brown and black. Plus, any paper that has clocks and flowers is a hit with me! I used the 8x8 pad for this project. The smaller scale of the prints is perfect for cards, tags, and mini albums. I made a card with a removable book mark! Nothing says "friendship" like a pretty bookmark! The Simple Stories Odds and Ends Memorabilia Pocket is perfect for tucking the bookmark into. You could also tuck a gift card into the pocket for an extra special gift! I edged the pocket with brown ink, and attached an image cut from the paper. I used Prima Perle Bebe Fairy Belle flowers to decorate my pocket and bookmark. So soft and pretty! I found some stamps in my stash with a reading theme. I love to read, and I am sure I can think of a few friends who like reading also and would enjoy getting this card! You can see that I fussy cut the lady from the paper and raised the layer with foam tape for added dimension. I edged the cut-out with a marker to give it extra depth and contrast. Here is a look at the inside of the card. Thanks for stopping by. Make sure you visit the StopAndScrap Blog for more inspiration all week long! June is such a pretty time of year, and these cards and tags reflect that. Each project is completely different, yet are made from the same paper collection! This tag was made using the brand new wider stenciled tags! You will have the option of making this tag hang from a chain if you wish! I think you will have a lot of fun with this JUNE kit, as I have incorporated a few different techniques including fussy-cutting to create your own embellishments, adding flowers and real fabric lace, pearls and even metal to add interest and drama. To purchase the products seen on these cards and tags, go to our website HERE! I have lots of beautiful cards and tags planned for you this summer, so enjoy your June kit, and I'll see you next month! ~ReNae
When it comes to design, we can't all be Leonardo Da Vinci. Sometimes, however, you see a product, advertisement, or structure that is so embarrassingly messed up that you have to wonder who even approved it. Some of them simply suffer from unfortunate placement, but others are just completely out of touch with reality. We're pretty sure the employees who came up with these ideas had a 'long talk' with their bosses after the fact.
I am sure that if you follow my blog or know me at all, you KNOW how much I love any and everything that is Graphic 45! I love bold contrasting colors and seriously, no one does bold rich, bright and contrasting better than Graphic 45. So here I am, with my audition for the Graphic 45 design team. There are so many wonderful and madly talented designers that work utter magic with Graphic 45 that I am just a little intimidated! However, if you don't work for you dreams, they will never come true, so I've given it my best! 1. Let's begin with the really bold and bright Bohemian Bazaar collection. I was immediately reminded of my younger years when flower power and psychedelic colors were the rage when this collection came out! I was inspired to go back in time and create this piece showing a much younger me at a very carefree time in my life. I love making flowers and I made these from the Dazzling Delights paper so that they would perfectly blend with my layout. 2. Birdsong is definitely one of my favorite Graphic 45 collections. Lots of fussy cutting on this layout; Graphic 45 is always so perfect for trimming out their beautiful images! 3. I love this layout I did of my Mom when she was a teenager using Tropical Travelogue. I made flowers from glassine paper and added some Perfect Pearls powder to give this some luster. Then I added fussy cut leaves from the collection to complete my page. 4. One of my favorite color combinations is red, black and ivory; oooh these papers from Birdsong sure fit the bill. This is a paper mache trunk that I altered and it's perfect for storing tags and cards. 5. I loved using the Ladies' Diary collection to make this tag mini with Graphic 45's tag staples. 6. This is one of my favorite Christmas projects that I did with the Twelve Days of Christmas collection. The papers were so perfect for making my little drum gift box. Click here for a link to a tutorial for this project. 7. I made this tag to go with a gift of home baked goodies for a very special person in my life, my poodles' veterinarian. I paired an adorable chipboard poodle with the Twelve Days of Christmas collection to make this tag. 8. What could be better than the Sweet Sentiments collection for making a Valentine's tag for my special man? Here's a link to a tutorial for this tag. 9. My favorite projects of all time are these Steampunk dress forms, trunks and hats. I used Steampunk Debutante for this first dress along with some ruffled ribbon and netting. The trunks are fun to make and are great to use as gift boxes. Here's a tutorial with a template for making them. When Steampunk Spells came out I knew I had to make a special witch's dress and hat. 10. Typography is such a vibrantly colored collection, I really love these papers! I made this thank you tag so that it could double as a card too! It has a little door on the front that opens so that you can write a personal note. Tutorial here. 11. Pictured is a steam operated shovel and what could be more perfect for scrapping these pictures than the Steampunk Debutante collection? Mother Goose is the perfect collection for scrapping the little ones in your life and here is our grandson. I fussy cut some of the adorable images from this collection and emphasized the circular design by using the circle punch outs from the cardstock banners. 12. This is a cigar box I altered as a gift for a friend using the fabulous Couture collection. Then I made a tag to accompany my gift. top top - detail inside inside detail Accompanying tag 13. And finally a banner to decorate my craft room made with French Country! The letters are plain chipboard that I altered, here's a tutorial for the letters. Ok 13 is my lucky number and that's why I have 13 projects! I wish everyone applying for the DT the best of luck! Thanks to all my friends and followers that stopped by to see my Graphic 45 projects. You gave me the courage to submit my work!

It is time to share the Graphic 45 September Place in Time Project Sheets! I think this is my favorite set so far! To get these delivered to your email, sign up for the Graphic 45 Newsletter. The local stores already have the October and November sets, only ONE more month of cards to create! Here are the three September projects. I created three school themed cards using the Place in Time collection. Each card has a "secret" pocket or special hidden message area, perfect for adding a gift card or a special note! To download each project sheet, click on the card titles below. Remember, to create the monthly projects, you only need a few sheets of the monthly Place in Time papers, some cardstock, and a few simple craft supplies (such as buttons and ribbon.) I am sure most of you have everything you need in your stash! Sometimes there are other items added from the Place in Time Collection or from the Graphic 45 Staples Collection. This month we are using some of the Place in Time Chipboard 2 elements. School Days Project Sheet I created a grid pattern for this card, using some of the images from the September Cut-Apart sheet. The inside of the card contains a pocket to hold tags or a gift card. Back to School Project Sheet This card is an easel card, with a hidden journaling spot under the cover flap, and a gift card pocket (the ruler band at the bottom is a pocket). The card folds flat for mailing. Off to School Project Sheet I love the vintage school images of this collection, and had a blast designing these cards. This card is a simple card...with a secret pocket on the inside! You can tuck a gift card or a message into the pocket, and still have lots of room to add a photo or other message to the inside! Perfect for saying thanks to your favorite teacher! Enjoy this month's project sheets!
