The influence that the terroir diversity of the South African Winelands has on the wine we produce, can be more than a media statement - you can actually experience it in your glass. Tasting the 2022 La Motte Sauvignon Blanc, one gets to enjoy fruit, vibrancy and classic elegance derived from the distinctive character of grapes from Stellenbosch (50%), Franschhoek (25%) and the Cape South Coast (25%). Approachable with a beautiful balance between tropical fruit flavours and minerality, the new release is polished by 5% of Semillon, adding complexity and interest. With an almost ideal growing season – a cold wet winter and initial cool start to summer - the 2022 Sauvignon Blanc grapes had exceptional flavour development. Heatwaves during harvest did, however, result in lower acids and higher pH levels compared to previous vintages. Grapes were harvested at between 17° and 23° Balling to optimise the natural acidity. The winemaking process was reductive with cold fermentation at 14°C. A delicate straw with a slight green tinge, the colour in the glass already hints on the wine’s fresh and fruity character. Enjoy a nose of intense gooseberry and lime and a palate vibrant with lemon and winter melon. A supple mouthfeel and nuances of dried grass tempers the vivacity of the wine for an elegant glassful that lingers on the palate. With its natural acidity and fine texture, the 2022 La Motte Sauvignon Blanc is a trusted choice for those who enjoy a refreshing aperitif-style Sauvignon Blanc, but also a versatile white wine with food. Enjoy with salads (fresh or with grilled vegetables), those often tricky and spicy Asian flavours and, especially, with seafood – from freshly grilled fish to the more luxurious options such as crayfish.

MS H.8 Illuminated around 1500 by the artist Jean Poyer, The Hours of Henry VIII receives its name from the possible but unproven eighteenth-century tradition that holds King Henry of England once owned this splendid manuscript. By following the simple instructions, you can explore every painting of this Renaissance masterpiece and learn how Books of Hours helped their readers to pray. Books of Hours contain more or less standard texts—Calendar, Gospel Lessons, Hours of the Virgin, Hours of the Cross, Hours of the Holy Spirit, Penitential Psalms with Litany, Office of the Dead, and Suffrages—as well as a number of common accessory prayers. Based on the frequency and variety of added devotions, it appears that scribes included these for owners who wished to personalize their prayer books. The Morgan Library.

Experience your wine with this refreshing addition to our iconic Tuscany Classics collection. In collaboration with renowned sommelier, Victoria James, we developed this carefully thought-out 4-piece wine glass set for cool region wines. It's simple: instead of matching your glassware to the grape, focus on where the wine was created. For cooler climates, the aromas are more delicate, so we designed this stemware with a smaller opening to capture every detail. Don't know if your wine is from a warm or cool region? Just ask your local somm! These glasses are made of fine European lead-free crystal and feature a thin lip to help coat your palate and a naturally thin base for perfect swirling and aeration. We etched a unique icon on the foot so you know you're drinking from your cool region wine glass. The icon showcases a tiny circle with a big space in the middle to represent the area of the globe further away from the equator. It's all a part of a collection designed to elevate your wine tasting experience with every sip.
