Many grant programs also provide educational resources to help business owners effectively utilize the funds they receive. Recently, a nonprofit organization called Regarding Her launched the Regarding Her Academy program specifically designed for women-owned businesses. The 2024 iteration of this program will award twenty grants of $5,000 each to qualifying women-owned food and beverage businesses. Additionally, recipients will participate in a ten-week educational program. Since its inception in 2021, Regarding Her Academy has awarded a total of $350,000 to 25 businesses in the Los Angeles area. This year marks the first time the program is open to eligible businesses in the D.C. area, extending its reach to Baltimore and Richmond. To qualify, businesses must be members of Regarding Her's D.C. or Los Angeles chapters, with the option to sign up during the application process. Moreover, eligible businesses should have been operational for between one and three years, be at least 10 percent women-owned, and project 2024 revenues ranging from $250,000 to $1 million.
