From 1937 The Directoire influence is seen in the upper bias bodice section which laps at front and continues low at the back. A long scarf falls from the left shoulder, very Hollywood. Bodice has soft fulness in front and is seamed at raised line. The skirt is straight at front with back fulness. Bust 34 Hip 37 A few suggested fabrics: Silk crepe, Satin, Metallic, Devore velvet. Originally by Hollywood, 'A shaped stomacher panel joins to the skirt to the gathered blouse section, which has a low back décolletage. An optional soft sash is pulled through a ring at the V-neck in front and wraps about the body to knot at the waistline in the back, falling in long ends to train length.' 1/2" seams are given. Ideal fabrics for this design are: silk crepe, printed crepe, satin, taffeta, faille, metal cloth or lace, novelty cotton, pique, linen, cotton lace, eyelet batiste or velvet. Sizes: Size set A fits 12-20 (30" to 38" bust, 25" to 33" waist, 33" to 41" hip). Size set B fits 40-46 (40" to 46" bust, 35" to 41" waist, 43" to 49" hip).
