Any questions you may have please send us an e-mail or call: 1-800-273-3022 "The gigot sleeve, also called the leg o'mutton sleeve, was named for its resemblance to a sheep’s hind leg: wide at the top and narrow at the bottom. This dramatic style of sleeve was first seen on women’s dresses in the sixteenth century but became a very popular style during the late 1820s and early 1830s, a romantic period that favored flamboyant styles. The gigot sleeve came into style again during the 1890s as part of the fashionable hourglass figure, for which women were supposed to be wide at the shoulders and bust, narrow at the waist, and wide at the hips. Second Outfit Entry From Ravelry's Cataddict SUMMER WARDROBE The project is for American Girl dolls and Götz dolls 46 cm. The project is knitted with cotton n. 3 and crocheted with cotton n. 5. The trademark of the cotton n. 3 is Manifattura Primavesi but I have no idea of the trademark of the cotton n. 5 because I got it from my stash. I planned a SUMMER WARDROBE with patterns all created by me except for the yellow dress which is a very strongly modified combination of 2 patterns from Taiga Hilliard. I made 5 complete outfits, including shoes and a purse for each doll. Plus each doll has a hat or a hair band and/or a decoration to put in her hair. • SAIGE has a knitted skirt and a crochet boat neck shirt. • ADDY has knitted capri trousers and a knitted summer top. • JULIE has knitted shorts and crochet lacy summer breeze tank/tunic. • KANANI has a knitted and crocheted pretty summer dress. • JULIA has a knitted cool summer dress. All the sandals and the shoes are in matching colors with the outfits, and the same is to be said for the other accessories (bags, hats, hairbands, etc.) Sandals, shoes, bags, hats, hairbands etc. are all crocheted. EXTRAS The picnic items, the earrings and the sunglasses are American Girl. The stand is a present from a friend and the clothes hangers are from the Furga Alta Moda dolls. The butterflies and the birds are from the TIGER SHOPS and the tree is a bonsai that is not anymore so much a bonsai. In-Progress Pictures Completed Outfits Thank you for your entry! This is a simple to knit stocking stitch crossover cardigan, which buttons with one button at the waist. It is knitted flat in one piece to the armhole divide. The sleeves are knit separately and set in afterwards. There is a cute matching headband which has a one colour dropped stitch design. The dropped stitch pattern is continued on to the skirt but done slightly differently and in 2 colours. Giving a "houndstooth" check pattern to this trendy little pull-on mini skirt.
