Ideas for January Week 1 LDS Primary Sharing Time, 2018 Sharing Time Outline Theme: I am a Child of God January 2018 Sharing Time Topic: I Am a Child of God, and He Has a Plan for Me January 2018 Song: “I Am a Child of God” (CS, 2–3) January Week 1 Topic: God is my Heavenly Father. He knows and loves me. Preparation: Prayerfully study and think about what the specific needs of your primary are and how you can teach them this doctrine. The most important thing is to love those you teach and to teach them by the Spirit!! Focus on building their testimonies and helping them come unto Christ! (All printables for this sharing time can be found and printed by clicking the "Free Printable Download" button. They are free and can be printed and used for personal and church purposes) Sharing Time Instruction: To begin show the primary children a picture of the pre-existence. Explain to the primary children that before they came to this earth they lived in a beautiful place with their Heavenly Father and their Heavenly Mother. Each one of us are spirit children of our Heavenly Father. He knows us and loves us so much. He know each of our names, what makes us happy and what makes us sad. He desires us to return to live with Him. Show the primary children the month's theme poster and invite them to repeat, "God is my Heavenly Father. He knows and loves me." Give each primary child a coloring page. Invite them to draw picture of how they know that their Heavenly Father knows them and loves them. Maybe give them an example. While the primary children are drawing their pictures have "I am a Child of God" or "Heavenly Father Loves Me", playing in the background. When the primary children are done drawing their pictures, invite some of them to come up and share how they know that Heavenly Father knows them and loves them. You might share some other examples such as: He sent His son, Jesus Christ to suffer and die for each one of us; He created this beautiful earth that we live in; He has given us living prophets to guide and direct us; He has given us the scriptures to help us understand His plan and how to return home to Him; He gave us Families; He gives us temples; He answers our prayers, etc. Continue having the primary children share their examples of how Heavenly Father knows them and loves them until time is up. Close by sharing your own testimony of how you know Heavenly Father knows you and loves you. *************************** Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope that these ideas were helpful. Hey y’all! To celebrate the launch of our Intentional Prayer Journals, we are spending the Month of November focusing on the topic of prayer. I can admit that for much of my Christian life, prayer was a total mystery to me. I was convinced it was something I was obligated to figure and do for God in
