Burton Silverman’s iconic cover portrait of ‘Aqualung,’ the wheezing, shabby homeless man ‘eyeing little girls with bad intent’ who happens to look a lot like Ian Anderson In 2016, Jethro Tull is one of those utterly amazing bands that is—sadly—very difficult to explain to those for whom they seem to hold no obvious appeal. Although once one of the very biggest concert draws in the world of music—and don’t get me wrong, they’re still a popular group—their fanbase is getting older each year and I don’t think it’s exactly getting any bigger with the passing of time. But for the sake of “the young people” who are reading this I’m going to try to get across why I think Jethro Tull are so great and why they deserve your attention. The occasion is Rhino’s re-release of their classic 1971 longplayer Aqualung, an album that I’m absolutely nuts about, on a 2 CD/2 DVD box set. I hope my enthusiasm will be contagious enough that you’ll give it a listen yourself. I canvassed some of the other Dangerous Minds contributors about their opinions of Aqualung: Editor-at-large Marc Campbell relayed that he...
Good music is almost as hard to come by as a girl with good taste in music. It’s hard enough to find bands like The Stones and The Beatles, but to find a woman who also thinks that John Bonham is more God than man is like finding someone in Brooklyn…

Elegí este tema porque creo que enmarca perfectamente como es la vida en realidad, con sus altibajos, con sus aciertos, con sus enclaves, así es la vida. 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony this life Trying to make ends meet, you're a slave to the money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah No change, I can't change, I can't change, I can't change, but I'm here in my mold , I am here in my mold But I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mold, no, no, no, no, no Podemos destacar que habla de lo agridulce que es la vida, que nunca esta la perfección, todo lo contrario, que siempre hay algo que arruina o hace menos importante lo que hicimos, que intentamos poseer plata, que luego la perdemos cuando morimos, dice que tomamos la dirección que conocemos, que no nos arriesgamos, se hace difícil cambiar, nos quedamos como estamos, por miedo, por inseguridad, por dejadez tal vez. Well, I've never prayed, But tonight I'm on my knees, yeah I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind , I feel free now But the airwaves are clean and there's nobody singing to me now Después de escucharse el mismo, se siente libre, su ente se encuentra en paz, pero ya nadie lo espera, todos siguieron su camino, se desvanecieron. No change, I can't change, I can't change, I can't change, but I'm here in my mold , I am here with my mold And I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mold, no, no, no, no, no (Well have you ever been down?) (I can't change, I can't change...) (Ooooohhhhh...) 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony this life Trying to make ends meet, trying to find some money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah You know I can't change, I can't change, I can't change, but I'm here in my mold, I am here in my mold And I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mold, no,no,no,no,no I can't change my mold, no,no,no,no,no I can't change my mold, no,no,no,no,no (It justs sex and violence melody and silence) (It justs sex and violence melody and silence) (I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down) (It justs sex and violence melody and silence) (I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down) (Been down) (Ever been down) (Ever been down)(Lalalalalalaaaaaaaa...) (Ever been down) (Ever been down) (Have you ever been down?) (Have you ever been down?) (Have you ever been down?) Tambien si vemos el video, podemos observar que no se detiene ante nada y ante nadie, sigue y sigue caminando, busca algo, no se sabe que, pero sigue por su camino, ese camino que no lo dirige a ningun lado, esta perdido.
