In "Worship," we sought to capture a deeply personal moment within the sacred space of a church. As Jesus walks down the center aisle, surrounded by worshippers lost in devotion, there's a palpable sense of His presence infusing every corner of the room. One of the motivations behind creating this painting was the realization that there was a scarcity of art depicting Christ's active presence during church worship. We wanted to emphasize this aspect of our faith, where Jesus is not just a distant figure in history but a living, breathing presence among us as we gather to praise and adore Him. We invite viewers to immerse themselves in the scene, to feel the warmth of His presence, and to experience the beauty of worshiping together with fellow believers, knowing that Christ walks with us. Reproduced from the artists digital A.I. file with digital editing. Created 2023. Our Float Frame is custom-made with a small gap between the frame and canvas to accentuate the edges of the artwork and give the illusion of a floating image within the frame.
"I Would Gather Thee by Liz Lemon Swindle portrays God's enduring desire to gather and protect His children, symbolized by twelve chicks representing Jesus' apostles. Liz Lemon Swindle's artistic journey started in childhood, guided by her father's encouragement and early exhibitions on the family refrigerator. Inspired by her faith, she transitioned to painting religious subjects in the 1990s, leading to widespread recognition and her works being cherished in collections globally.
"When you’re a journalist who works and lives in Jerusalem, you know that religious conflict is an important story," writes Thomas Coex, AFP's chief photographer for Israel and the Palestinian Territories. "There’s so much tension here. You see it every day. We’re never far from a new conflict throughout the whole city."
