Hello Pinkfresh friends! I am back on the blog today with a happy and fun Floral gatefold card. I decided to use the Never Give Up stamp/ Dies/ Stencils, Joyful Day stamps/ Dies and the Ornate Trellis Press Plate/ Die for this card. I started by an 8.5 by 5.5 inches white cardbase. Score at 2 and 1/8th inch mark on bot

I shared these cards last night on my Monday night Stamp with Me Live. They're called Angled Gate-Fold cards. These first two cards feature the Painted Christmas designer paper, the Thinking, Thanks & Peace stamp set & Seasonal Label dies. The large greeting die-cut was cut smaller by cutting once and reinserting it to trim off a bit. (shared in the video) On this card I added dimensionals to only the very left side of the greeting so it could...
I had so much fun creating these gatefold fun fold cards by repurposing pieces from the August Time For Cake Paper Pumpkin Card Kit! I couldn’t resist using the beautiful printed patterns inside the envelopes as backgrounds for my cards. To add a personal touch, I colored the Pretty in Pink ribbon with Moody Mauve Stampin’ Blends Markers to match the Moody Mauve card base. If you’re looking for a creative way to use your Paper Pumpkin kit, check out my free PDF with step-by-step instructions and explore more alternate ideas in my August Paper Pumpkin series!
I was surprised to discover that I hadn't done a tutorial for a basic gatefold card considering they are so easy to make and so popular amongst card-makers. There are many different variations on the gatefold card, but the basic idea is to create a card that opens like a gate or door, with two side flaps and a central opening. 1. Start with a card blank. Mine is 9" long x 41/2" high and will create a square card measuring 41/2" x 41/2". You can use any size you like as this card relies on proportions rather than actual measurements. 2. Now you want to fold the ends of your card into the centre so they meet like a gate. There are a couple of ways to do this - you can either score a vertical line at 1/4 of the way across the cardstock and again at 3/4 of the way across OR you can mark the centre of your cardstock and simply fold the two ends into the middle so they meet. Now you've formed a basic gatefold card. 3. To decorate, I cut two pieces of cardstock measuring 41/4" x 2" and another two measuring 4" x 13/4". I layered these together and then adhered them to the front flaps of my card. I also added a ribbon bow and a simple punched shape with a stamped sentiment. TIP: Don't throw out your off cuts. If they aren't big enough to use on their own, try cutting them into squares that can be assembled to form a patchwork. You'll have a lot less wastage and a pretty feature for your card.

Hi Crafty Friends, Today I have another Teacher thank you card I created for my grandchildren to give to their teachers at the end of the year. Taylored Expressions recently released a couple of items which I knew I needed to add to my stash. I am always looking for stamps/dies that would be suitable to make teacher cards and this pencil stamp called Create in Color Background is one I will think I will use a lot. I also make a few Gatefold cards, so the Better Half Cutting Plates were a perfect addition for these types of cards. Here is a quick video to see my card in action. I die cut the one of the dies from the Better Half Cutting Plate die set four times from white cardstock and once each from red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple cardstock. I then adhered each of the white panels onto white cardstock that had double sided adhesive tape on the front and paper pieced all the colored stripes into the white frames in rainbow order. I have plenty left to make more cards in the future. I stamped the pencil background onto white cardstock and then die cut this using a circle die and layered that on the centre of the card. I added sentiments from Heffy Doodle Stamps Teach Me Clear Stamp set and die cut using Honey Bee Stamps Banner Builders die set. Here is my card when it is partially opened. For the inside of the card I added two more of the rainbow panels I used for the front of the card. I created a Gatefold Shutter Card using MFT Stamps Shutter Card Components die set. I stamped the pencil background again on white cardstock and added that to the centre panel at the bottom of the card. I used Heffy Doodle Stamps Teacher die and Teach Me Clear stamp set for the sentiments. On both of the side panels I added two kids which are from Stamping Bella's Squidgy Pals stamp set.
