Situated one kilometre away from the R. Lopez de Heredia winery, the Viña Bosconia vineyard is situated next to the river Ebro (at an altitude of 465m), filled with clay and limestone soil and home to the tempranillo, garnacha tintorera, mazuelo and graciano grapes that go into creating this Rioja. Aged for five years in American oak barrels, it’s hand racked around 10 times and filled with a smooth, fresh and full-bodied taste.

Long Description#Tasting Notes#Our charming Harvey Nichols Crianza is lovingly made by Bodegas Las Orcas, a small family-owned winery located in the village of Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa. The Abando San Pedro family currently works with 10 hectares of their own vineyards. Raimundo Abando's daughter Lucía is now working with him at the winery, meaning there are now 4 generations of winemakers in the family. As intense as staring a bull in the eyes in Pamplona, this wonderful Rioja from Bodegas Las Orcas seduces with its dark spicy notes. Muy bien on its own with tapas or for something nearer to home a Sunday roast. Olé! Skilfully crafted using grapes grown on high-altitude vineyards Finca San Ángel and El Musco, the Harvey Nichols Rioja is a classic blend of Tempranillo and Garnacha. The wine sees 14 months in French oak barrels and, at least, 12 months in bottle. This seductive red is made in the traditional method and cellared at the Bodega to produce a wine of exceptional finesse and complexity. Intensely coloured, it displays inviting notes of dark cherry and woody spices supported by supple silky tannins that will allow cellaring for up to 5 years.#Product Details#Country: SpainRegion: RiojaGrapes: TempranilloAlcohol by volume (ABV): 14%Volume: 750mlAllergens: Sulphites

Long Description#Tasting Notes#96 points “A precise and polished red with cherry, plum, slate, iron, and powdered earth. It's medium- to full-bodied with sublime tannins that are beautifully integrated into the wine. It's structured, yet the tannins are very silky. It's curated and thoughtful. Two years in American oak (10% new) and 14 months in bottle. Sophisticated and very drinkable, but will age nicely.” - James Suckling 93 points “The 2019 Rioja Reserva, their flagship wine, comes from the 300 hectares of estate vineyards. Here, Tempranillo is the backbone, making up 87% of the wine in the low-yielding vintage of 2019 and complemented with 6% Graciano, 5% Mazuelo and 2% Garnacha. This is the second vintage in the new winery. It’s a balsamic and spicy version – a wine with muscle that they aged for a longer time in barrel, and it's more traditional and serious. It's ripe at 14.5% alcohol, a pH of 3.65 and 5.3 grams of acidity. They seek balance between fruit and oak, looking for freshness. A more powerful year.” - Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate The Marqués de Murrieta Reserva 2019 comes highly rated by the critics as always. 2019 is a brilliant example of the elegant, consistent and traditional wines that characterise the Marqués de Murrieta vineyard and shows the incredible personality of the Ygay Estate. Produced using a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Mazuelo and Garnacha grapes, the balance, finesse, depth and complexity shine through. What is drawn from the American oak barrels after 24 months of maturing is a sleek and stylish wine with strawberry, cherry and red plum fruits bursting through alongside notes of black pepper, sandalwood, Mediterranean herbs, red tea and hints of gentle ageing. It is well balanced with silky tannins, lively fruit and fresh acidity leading to a long, elegant finish. An excellent vintage that pairs exquisitely with roast lamb, seared duck breast, jamón, roasted vegetables, truffles, slow-cooked mushrooms and caramelised onions. Luciano Murrieta produced the first ever Rioja exported before anyone else in the region and built a grand “château” on the Ygay Estate inspired by Bordeaux. The wines from this estate are aged for substantially longer than the required legal period, meaning it therefore sits at the very pinnacle of the region’s hierarchy. In fact, when Tim Atkin ranked the producers of Rioja based “only on the quality of the winery and its wines” he placed Marqués de Murrieta in the very top echelon as a First Growth. #Product Details#Country: SpainRegion: RiojaGrapes: Tempranillo,Grenache,Mazuelo,GracianoClosure: CorkAlcohol by volume (ABV): 14%Volume: 750mlAllergens: Sulphites
