French galettes are a paradise for celiacs and gluten-intollerant people! When I studied in France it was love at first sight. It's a sort of whole-grain crêpe, but it's 100% gluten-free because it's made of buckwheat. It is richer in flavor than usual crêpes and for me it's a better combi

If you’ve been following along for a while, you may remember this post, but I’ve been getting a lot of French seam questions lately so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to resurrect this tutorial from the blog archives and set it free a second time. I’m first going to do a run through of the french seam and then will show you how to apply it to the armhole. Just a few notes before we begin… 1. french seams are usually best used on light to medium weight fabric. 2. French seams require you to split your seam allowance in two parts. This tutorial is done using a 1/2″ seam allowance, but if you are working with a 5/8″ seam allowance, sew the first seam at 3/8″ and the second at 1/4″. I’ve tried to notate where this applies. With that, lets get to it! Click through to view the tutorial. French Seams on Straight Seams Step 1 | Cut your pieces from your fabric. I only made a half top for this so photographing would be easier, but yours will look normal of course. Step 2 | Sew the sides and shoulder seams with the wrong sides of the fabric together at 1/4″ (or 3/8″ if you have a 5/8″ seam allowance) and press the seam open. I like to do all of the seams at once instead of completing one seam at a time because you are much less likely to end up with one seam backwards. Step 3 | Grade your seam allowance down to 1/8″. Step 4 | Fold and press along the seam so that the right sides are together and stitch at 1/4″. Step 5 | Press both the side seams and shoulder seams towards the back of the garment and this part of the process is over! French Seaming Armholes (and other curved seams) Step 6 | First we will assemble the sleeves, this part is a bit repetitive. Sew the underarm seams with the wrong sides of the fabric together at 1/4″ (or 3/8″ if you have a 5/8″ seam allowance). Step 7 | Press the seam open and grade the seam allowance down to 1/8″. Step 8 | Fold and press along the seam so that the right sides are together and stitch at 1/4″. Press seam towards back of sleeve. Step 9 | Sew a line of gathering threads from the front notch to the back notches. Step 10 | Pin your sleeve and armhole together with wrong sides facing. Begin by matching the underarm seams and notches. Step 11 | Pull on your gathering stitches to ease the sleeve cap into the armhole. Stitch around the seam at 1/4″ (or 3/8″ if you’re working with a 5/8″ seam allowance). After sewing this seam, check for any tucks and remove them if you have any. Step 12 | Press the seam open and grade the seam allowance down to 1/8″. This will be most easily accomplished by cramming a ham or sleeve roll inside your shirt and pressing the seam around that. Step 13 | Fold and press along the seam so that the right sides are together and stitch at 1/4″. Check for any tucks and correct those if you have any. You should now have a french seamed armhole like the one below, congrats! And that’s that! As always if you have any questions leave me a note below and I’ll leave you a reply; I try to respond to all comments. Hope you find this tutorial useful!
Please be noted that: 1. What you will receive are the separate pieces of the corners. They are to be installed one piece by one piece onto the ceiling. 2. The molding is packed in 45 inches. 3. There is color difference between pieces, because they are made of two different materials, some HDP and the others resin, though they are all in white color. The density of HDP and resin is different, so you will feel HDP piece is lighter and resin piece is heavier. 4. You need to paint them when all pieces installed and joints filled well. - Painting is to cover the color difference between the pieces. - Painting is to get seamless effect. 5. It is skilled work to install the pieces, fill the joints/gaps seamlessly and paint colors. So you or your contractor should be highly experienced in interior building. 6. You need to prepare installation tools and materials by yourself, which mainly includes gun nail and applicator, construction glue, acrylic gap filler sealant, paints. Gun nail and applicator is used to - tack all the pieces to the ceiling, besides construction glue applied onto the back Construction glue is used - onto the back of the pieces for attaching to the ceiling - to glue the broken piece of HDP pieces if there were. (Use quick-dry glue if the piece is made of resin, resin piece is heavier than HDP) Acrylic gap filler sealant is used to - joints between the pieces and the surface of the ceiling - joints between moldings - joints between corners and moldings - Nail holes tacked by gun nail Storage of Molding Long molding is easily to be bent if leaning on a wall single by single. To avoid bent, please bundle the moldings tightly at the middle and two ends in per bundle, and then store the bundle of molding at a flat surface. Never place the moldings loosed or place each molding in single for days or months, or even leaned on a wall or object. A bit bent is not a problem, use gun nail to tack along the straight line on the wall. Sample Video of installation: Here is a sample video of molding installed on the wall https://drive.google.com/file/d/1EP0FpRRvQcWcZKQYh4QfFD6reukVS9eQ/view Size tolerance: There is always size tolerance. Usually the actual size made out is a bit smaller than the data we marked of the design. Size tolerance can be varied from 1% to 10% based on different sizes or batches. Take for example: (1) 12cm, tolerance may be 1cm (2) 60cm, tolerance may be 1.2cm (3) 120cm, tolerance may be 2cm Designs minor change: In rare time, the design of a wood applique and item received may be a bit different from the image shows, just a bit different, it doesn't affect the original design idea and structure. ------------ Importing Tax: No import tax for 99% parcels through Standard Shipping. Skiffers or corner protectors are attractive solid brass castings designed to prevent damage to skirting boards and wall corners, an elegant and durable way to guard against scuffs and damage. It is all too easy to scuff corners, for example when vacuum cleaning or moving furniture. Our corner protectors not only prevent this, but also add an attractive detail to a normally bland area. Choice of finishes: Antique Brass, Polished Brass, Bronze, Satin Brass, Brushed Chrome, Polished Chrome, Pewter, Polished Nickel, Satin Nickel, Black. Available in 3 sizes. Nothing creates more old school character and charm in an interior than beautiful architectural moldings. What do you do though when you live in a newer building and can’t afford to hire a contractor for fresh plasterwork or millwork?Fret not, friends, there’s hope! I asked a few of my favorite interior designers for advice on how to fake the look of moldings, wall panels, and more at home when you can’t afford the real thing, and these fool-the-eye upgrades made their lists.
