Don’t be afraid to reinvent the wheel, because these classic recipes with a trendy twist are the best things since sliced bread!
What is not obvious is the new design for a single drive flyer. The whorl is “changeable” for different speeds; to change bobbins, the front of the flyer simply pulls off - no drive band to deal with. Very fast bobbin change. Watch a video to see how it is done. The flyer also has sliding hooks. And both the flyer and the wheel spin on sealed ball bearings for a truly smooth feel. The Fantasia is made of European alder and available in several wood and color combinations. DECORATE your unfinished Fantasia, and send us pdf's of your artwork! We'll send you back a 10% OFF coupon code all your own for your next Mondaes purchase. If you are new spinner, you will want to add the Jumbo Ring Orifice and Hooks Kit for plying or larger yarns - this gives the wheel more grace for your intro-width yarns and allows it to perform well in art-yarn classes. Take a video test drive. Additional specifications: • wheel diameter - 18"; double treadle • orifice height - 28"; size - 3/8" • 3 bobbins; will fit all other Kromski wheels • single drive with Scotch tension with interchangeable whorls; flyer has sliding hooks • also includes threading hook, attached Lazy Kate and needle nose bottle of spinning wheel oil; uses an elastic drive band • Ratios: 5 and 8 to 1. Optional whorls - 10 and 14:1 and 18 and 20:1; whorls exchange very easily • ball bearings on wheel axle and flyer • wheel part is MDF or veneer MDF; available finished or unfinished • weight - 12.5 lbs. Available configurations and accessories: finished wood and veneer MDF wheel; walnut with clear wheel accent or clear with walnut wheel accent unfinished wood and MDF wheel; ready for you to finish as you like Jumbo Ring Orifice and Hooks Kit for plying or larger yarns What does it take to conceptualize and implement a new product? Look at some of Daniel Kromski's drawings on just small aspects of the Fantasia, a threading hook and a peg. As you will see, a lot goes into a Kromski product before any sawdust is made. This Fantasia was decorated by Ashley Eskew. See what your imagination can do! Send New Voyager/Kromski a picture of your uniquely finished wheel and they'll post it on their site!
A twisted finishing touch Schacht’s Fringe Twister makes it easy to create the final finishing touch on your weaving project. Schacht has re-designed the traditional straight-style twister into our curvaceous one. It wasn’t aesthetics that dictated this change, but rather its functionality: the round shape will never jam like straight twisters can. Using the Fringe Twister Hold the Fringe Twister in either hand and wind it with the handle or the turning wheel, whichever feels the most comfortable. The Schacht Fringe Twister includes 3 twisting hooks, but you can use only 2 if that is what the project requires. Meet the Schacht Fringe Twister
This is how they spin cotton, with a twist to a whirligig (?) in a calabash bowl
I have one natural/unfinished in stock; after that, it’s subject to backorder/delay. Depending on stock, this will either ship from me or direct from Ashford. Ashford ships via DHL international express, which is typically the same transit time as domestic ground shipping. I typically ship UPS ground. --- You can choose the unfinished version or the factory-lacquered version. The Kiwi Superflyer works on all Kiwi models. You'll never tire of watching steel balls race through this elaborate system of starts and stops, twists and turns. Build it with your own hands, crank the handle, and see it go into action as balls accelerate down spiral slopes, move through small switches, pass through a swinging ball separator, zoom down a S-shaped transparent orbit, ride a lifter, and more. Punch out the laser-cut plywood pieces and follow the step-by-step instructions. Wood and acrylic, 294 pieces, 10 steel balls. Finished size 8½"w x 13"h x 9"d. Ages 14 and up.
The Cotswold Craft Cottage 'Mayan Hand Spinner' is a tool for spinning and plying fibre, in a similar way to a drop spindle. Based on the design used by the ancient Mayans of Central America our Hand Spinner is twirled around to introduce the twist into the fibers. This is an easy way to hand spin, allowing a lot of control of speed for the beginner. When a length of fiber has been spun it is wound around the paddle and a further length of fiber is spun. (see photos above) You can spin quite a large ball on the Hand Spinner at one time. After spinning you can also ply your yarn on the Hand Spinner. The paddle can be decorated with pyrography or comes plain and is marked with direction arrows indicating S and Z twist; you twirl one way to spin and the other to ply. The Paddle measures 20 cm long X 2 cm wide and the twirling handle is also 20 cm long. it comes with instructions for use and a small amount of fibre to get you started.
The Sonata Magnetic Flyer Head is a breeze to use with a pre-assembled maiden and spindle. Comes ready to attach to the wheel post with the twist of a single knob, just like the original Sonata design. The ball bearing spindle offers an incredibly smooth rotation while spinning. Our innovative magnetic flyer attachment means that you can change bobbins in a flash. If you're familiar with the magnetic Fantasia flyer - this is similar, but with a slightly different style to go with the Sonata appearance. The magnetic flyer sets forward on the wheel (whereas in the original design, the flyer sets to the back of the wheel), bringing the orifice closer to the spinner. This gives the back of the wheel a cleaner profile as well. Also, the sliding hooks make filling the bobbin evenly so easy! No more hills-and-valleys! Included in the Sonata Flyer Head Kit: Mother-of All Base with maiden, 2 whorls (5,5:1/9,5:1 and 1.5:1/15:1) Magnetic Flyer with Sliding Hooks. Fits standard Kromski Bobbins (Bobbins sold separately). Available in all 4 Kromski finishes. The Do-it-Yourself finish (sold separately) also called unfinished because it has no finishing stain or sealer so you may paint it, stain it, wood-burn/seal it, or finish it in whichever creative method your heart desires. The finishes of Clear, Walnut, or Mahogany (sold individually) are already stained/sealed and ready to use. Please note: This listing is for the Magnetic Flyer Set for the Kromski Sonata Spinning Wheel. It does NOT include the spinning wheel. The spinning wheel itself is sold separately. The Magnetic Flyer Set does not come with bobbins. Bobbins are sold separately. The original (standard 4.2 ounce size) bobbins that come with the Sonata spinning wheel will fit this flyer set. The original flyer that comes with the Sonata wheel is designed with the whorl incorporated into the flyer. This new magnetic flyer is designed with a detachable whorl which allows for more ratio options. This new flyer design also allows the Sonata spinning wheel to be utilized as a double-drive or scotch tension. This unique flyer is designed specifically for the Kromski Sonata spinning wheel ONLY (spinning wheel sold separately). If you're looking for a flyer for a non-Kromski spinning wheel, this flyer will probably not fit. It is a unique design that is not applicable to other spinning wheels. I will NOT refund/exchange this or any other parts that are purchased for and do not fit a non-Kromski spinning wheel, but I do welcome good communication with my customers! Today as I picked up my second grader for my first group of the day, he said to me, "My mind is asleep. And my muscles." I'd been wanting to use the game "Twister" in therapy for a while - my mom even got it for me for Christmas because she knew I'd put a
*I have no relationship with Uno/Mattel or Toytheater.com.* This is meant to be a companion to Uno(R) or any 4 Colors game, such as on Toytheater.com. Put a new twist on a classic with these boards that will engage your students in conversation as they play! Each color corresponds with different "getting to know you" tasks. - Red: Name your favorite... - Yellow: Ask the person to your left about their favorite... - Blue: Would you rather? - Green: Tell us about a time that you... As students place their card down, they complete the task that corresponds to the color/number combination. Each # has 2 tasks based on the # of cards in the deck. Tasks are only given for # cards, not any "special" cards. Additionally, I have added a digital spinner that can be used in place of a card game. Students will spin the wheel hosted on WheelofNames.com and perform the task based on the color and number combination selected! Download Includes: - 1 instruction page with link to digital spinner and suggestions for use - 4 companion boards Check out more Social Skills Activities here!
