Perfect for fans of Adam Silvera and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, this suspenseful queer YA romance from critically acclaimed author K. Ancrum reimagines the tale of Icarus as a star-crossed love story between a young art thief and the son of the man he’s been stealing from—think Portrait of a Thief for YA readers. Icarus Gallagher is a thief. He steals priceless art and replaces it with his father’s impeccable forgeries. For years, one man—the wealthy Mr. Black—has been their target in revenge for his role in the death of Icarus’s mother. To keep their secret, Icarus adheres to his own strict rules to keep people, and feelings, at bay: Don’t let anyone close. Don’t let anyone touch you. And, above all, don’t get caught. Until one night, he does. Not by Mr. Black but by his mysterious son, Helios, now living under house arrest in the Black mansion. Instead of turning Icarus in, Helios bargains for something even more dangerous—a friendship that breaks every single one of Icarus’s rules. As reluctance and distrust become closeness and something more, they uncover the gilded cage that has trapped both their families for years. One Icarus is determined to escape. But his father’s thirst for revenge shows no sign of fading, and soon it may force Icarus to choose: the escape he’s dreamed of, or the boy he’s come to love. Reaching for both could be his greatest triumph—or it could be his downfall. DETAILS ISBN-13: 9780063285781 Publisher: HarperTeen Publication Date: March 26, 2024 Pages: 400

A former operative of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Femi Michael Ajibade was today, February 19, 2014 arraigned before Justice Olasumbo Olarenwaju Goodluck of the FCT High Court, Abuja on a 2-count charge which borders on forgery. Ajibade who is being prosecuted by his former employer was alleged to have forged a Bachelor of Science degree certificate of the University of Ilorin with which he secured employment into the Commission. The forgery was uncovered in the course of the verification of the qualifications and personal data of staff, a standard procedure in the regularisation of the employment of newly recruited staff. One of the counts read: “That you Ajibade Femi Michael on or about the 25th day of November, 2004 at Abuja in the Abuja Judicial Division of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory did fraudulently make a document titled University of Ilorin certificate No: 004675 dated 24th November, 2004 and purportedly signed by the Vice-chancellor and the Registrar awarding you a Bachelor of Science (Geology & Mineral Science) with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) with the intention of causing it to be believed that the same was made by University of Ilorin which you knew did not make it and thereby committed an offence punishable under section 364 of the Penal Code Act Cap. 532 Laws of the Federation (Abuja) 1990 Act”. The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge. Upon his plea, counsel to EFCC, Charlotte Dennis urged the court to fix a date for trial. Justice Goodluck adjourned the case to March 25 and 26, 2014 and ordered that the accused be remanded in Kuje Prison.
