Located on the banks of the River Trent, Nottingham Forest moved to City Ground in 1898 – 33 years after the club’s formation and six years after election to the Football League. Nottingham Forest needed to raise £3,000 to finance the move, so they asked members, supporters and businessmen to subscribe to ‘New Ground Scheme’ bearer bonds. These cost £5 each and raised over £2,000. The City Ground has seen a number of changes over the years, including the addition of an East Stand and renovation of the Main Stand. The stadium now seats 30,445 people. This beautiful piece of art was originally illustrated over many hours using pencil, fine liner and pro markers.
