Hello Kindred Spirits! It has been a couple of weeks since my last post! Today I want to share with you this Lapbook that we had made a couple of years ago. {You may have already viewed some of these pics on my website "Lee Ann's Girl Guide Notebook"}. We did the Anne of Green Gables Challenge with the Guides, Brownies, and Sparks over the course of three meetings; two meetings for learning about Anne and preparing for a recital...and the last meeting was a Recital. We had Service Learning students from St FX University come in to lead the Challenge as part of their course requirements. One of the challenge activites was to make some sort of scrapbook {a fitting activity since Lucy Maude Montgomery was a HUGE scrapbooker}. I thought this Lapbook would be an inexpensive and fun way to incorporate that element into the challenge. The colourful paper flowers came from the Dollarama store. The Anne colouring page came from Annetoon website...I can not seem to find the page where I got the writing though. This view shows the back cover of the Lapbook...a few colouring pages and a wordsearch that I had created especially for the Anne of Green Gables Lapbook were attached to the back. The inside view shows a Layered minibook for images related to Anne of Green Gables {images were found on Google search for Anne of Green Gables images}...images from Imagining Anne The Island Scrapbooks of L.M. Montgomery showing the popular "Puffed Sleeves" fashion...more Annetoon clipart...a folded double pocket...green cardstock to add support to the folder...two oval frames to add photos...stickers that I had in my stash from years ago...a homemade laminated Anne bookmark...a printout of the challenge patch...and gold photocorners that I had in my stash. This is the Invitation that the Brownies had made for the Recital. I found this idea in The Anne of Green Gables Christmas Treasury {I no longer have this book but I am almost certain that is where I found the idea} Inside view of the Invitation This is a craft idea that I had created...mini straw hat...ribbon...yarn braids...safety pin...white glue. So simple! After I had thought of this idea I later learned that similar magnets and life sized hats with braids were for sale at the Anne of Green Gables gift shops! Darn, I could have been rich with this idea LOL oh well LOL {I wish!}. This is the Challenge patch...100 YEARS OF ANNE...I do not see it for sale on the online GGC store so I guess they are no longer available. Does anyone out there know if this challenge patch is still available for GGC Units to purchase? This was a fun and entertaining challenge! A few of the girls came dressed in Anne costume which was a treat to see! We invited the parents to attend the Recital. The Guides were responsible for making a "Program" for the recital...which included a poem recitation , dancing, a skit, singing, lapbook display, food, and of course Raspberry Cordial {not the real raspberry cordial but a similar type punch...the real stuff is amazing! you can purchase it in PEI}. Cookie Owl had made several Victorian Sachets for the girls and a delicious cake! The Guides did an awesome rendition of a scene from the book. The Sparks shared a waltz and the Brownies shared the friendship dance. It was a pleasant evening for all! I spent 6 years as the executive chef of Events and Continuing Education at the now shuttered French Culinary Institute/International Culinary Center in New York City. One of my duties was assisting our Deans of Culinary Education. I worked side by side with Chef Jacques Pépin, the Dean of Special Studies, who taught me how to debone a whole chicken while keeping the carcass intact. Subsequently, I have made many chicken roulades, always reminiscing about my time working with Chef Pépin.

** We will be donating 20% of all sales of the LW collaboration to Marnin Studio** Bored of black this season? The Scrunch Trench will brighten up any winter day. This style features front pockets, a back slit, vintage buttons and a half lining. What makes this pieces really stand out is the gathering details and the incredibly special print by Indigenous artist Lee-Anne Williams. Lee-Anne Williams is a proud Bunuba/Wankatjunka woman who lives in The Kimberley and is supported by Marnin Studio. Lois met Lee-Anne through her partnership with the Design Within Country Project, working with local Indigenous artists in Western Australia. Lee-Anne’s artistic background is both Desert and Riverside from both of her grandmothers. The print represents of the dry river beds, like cracks in dry mud after a big flood. She loves painting because it takes her mind off everything negative that is happening around her; it's like therapy. Product Story MAKE - Maker: LH Studio - Location: Brunswick,...
