As we sit watching the 2012/2013 Premier League Season, Arsenal are sitting in a better position then last season. With all injured players returning to training it is time to look at what the ideal team would be. I have made my selection below and have given a few reasons. Make sure to add your team in the comments below and let's see who has what. Wojciech Szczesny; the young pole has been Arsenal's number one for a while now and has stated that he wants to play for Arsenal for the next 20 years. Even though Vito has been giving him some competition, I still think he is the man for the job. Bacary Sagna; the French right back has been Mr Reliable and is in my mind the best right back in the Premier League maybe even the world. He beats out the in form Jenkinson only because he has the experience and class that we have all come to love. Thomas Vermaelen; the Verminator and captain of the Arsenal when fit the first name down on the team sheet. He has brought a strength to the Arsenal defence that has been lacking for several years and let's not forget the goals he scores either. Per Mertesacker; the giant German beats out Koscielny for two reasons. This season he has been very impressive and has formed a partnership with Vermaelen in which they compliment each others playing styles. Even though I think the Frenchman is a better overall defender. The Belgian and Kos do not compliment each other as well as Verm and Mert. It is like when Lampard and Gerrard play together for England, something just doesn't click. Kieran Gibbs; the young Englishman has been in fine form this season, which has seen him receive a call up to the England squad. I am very glad to see his defence has improved as his attack always excited me. I am also happy that he is keeping Santos out of the side, the man can dance and smile, but he is as solid as Rio Ferdinand at the back. Mikel Arteta; what can I say about this work horse? He has in his short time at the club, cemented himself in the hearts of all Arsenal fans. His versatility in the midfield has seen him take a holding role this season. Many thought he wouldn't be able to do it, but my word has he proved them wrong. Jack Wilshere; the man has been out for more than a year and we have missed his magic. Gunners the world over breathed a sigh of relief when he returned to U21 level and will be waiting in anticipation for his full return. There were some questions as to who Arsene would have to sacrifice when the Jack returned, however I think he just has too much class to be left out. Santi Cazorla; the Spanish wizard has been wowing Arsenal and Premier League fans a like with his attacking and creative abilities. SANTI SANTI I like to chant over and over again has he cuts defense after defense to pieces with his poetic passing. Arsene Wenger has an eye for greatness and I think he hit the nail on the head here. Gervinho; the Ivorian has been in great form this season and has already netted the same amount of goals as he did the whole of last season. His strength and close technical skills have kept the likes of Theo out of the starting line-up. I predict great things for the man who shares his birthday with me and hope that he grows from strength to strength. Lukas Podolski; the German forward was the first of Arsene Wenger's summer signings and has thoroughly impressed all at the club. I have always been a huge fan of the player and when he signed I was quick to call up my father and say "you just watch he will impress you". So far I have been proved right, with even the German coach stating that Lucas has improved already under Arsene Wenger. He has power, speed and a finish to match, a must for any starting line-up. Olivier Giroud; the Frenchman has struggled to find goals at the start of the season, but has still for me looked a real threat. With his goal duck at West Ham broken I am sure that the goals will start to flow. He is able to make those runs that split defences open and has all the qualities of a complete striker. So that is the side that I would pick, a tough choice yes but it had to be done. Below is who I would have on my bench, I have left out Carl Jenkinson only because you simply can't pick everyone. What a great problem for Wenger to have. Vito Mannone Laurent Koscielny Aaron Ramsey Abou Diaby Tomas Rosicky Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain Theo Walcott Make sure you pick your side and write it below. Hopefully Arsenal will continue to notch up the victories this season push higher up the Premier league table.
