Birds-Flowers-Hearts Pennsylvania German Fraktur Art-Framed Print This is an 8" by 10" print from my original water color painting. The background for each print will be unique-I use parchment(hand distressed) paper and run my own prints on my Epson professional grade printer. This is a colorful fraktur painting sure to please anyone that loves flowers and birds. The Studio Decor designer frame is black barn wood. The outside of the designer frame measures 10.5" by 12.5". Fraktur Info Card Included. Fraktur art is nieve art at its finest. It corrals folk art, family, and American values tinged with a strong dose of Old World heritage. Fraktur brings all this together on colorful pages that delight the eyes while stimulating a curiosity about their archaic and decorative texts - texts usually written in German, even though they document events in the lives of some of North America's earliest immigrant families. Fraktur are hand-written manuscripts, or printed manuscripts that are hand-decorated with pen and ink and watercolors. Though made primarily for Pennsylvania-German and German-American families in the second half of the Eighteenth Century and throughout the Nineteenth Century, fraktur are being made even today. Shoofly Pie is the June 2017 square for the annual Ravelry BAM CAL. Designer’s Notes: Shoofly Pie is a Pennsylvania Dutch dessert that doesn’t seem to have made its way too far from it’s place of origin, so I thought I would share a slice with my crochet buddies around the world! It’s basically molasses pie and one of my favorite treats. I’m also a fan of Pennsylvania Dutch folk art so this square is a bit inspired by the themes and shapes that are commonly used there. I hope you enjoy it! Pagan folk magic or just a bit of barn decor? There's some debate about the origin of the hex sign, a bit of folk art that often marks the barns of Pennsylvania Dutch Country. Our hex sign was purchased as a souvenir on a trip to Lancaster, Pennsylvania when I was a kid. Pete was always into the o
