I'm so excited to bring you another peek at Flourishes April Releases! I did a little creative playing with this card and some pretty paper from Prima - Songbird making a very girly creation, playing off the other clothes-line image in this set. I created this 6 x 6 card for a very special baby girl. I was inspired by the pattern in this page of paper and created a "clothes-line" with the larger images in the set, making the baby onesie into a little dress, and pinning it all up with mini-clothespins. I think it's so sweet! As you can see I've colored the binding with copics and then stamped the flowers from our Tiny Flowers and Tags set all over the onesie in shades of coral. Then I added a little "skirt" with silk ribbon and edged it with cording. Adorable hey? Here's the little baby booties that I blinged up a little with some Prima faceted heart "buttons". I had a pair of leather booties just like this with laces from when I was a baby. I used Spellbinders Fancy Tags Three to crown the image off, Creative Pages Two for the decorative square framing and the Pennants die to add extra pennants to the line. Join the DT today in another look at these gorgeous sets. Remember today it the last day you can purchase the New Release Bundle at a 10% discount! Don't miss out! Today I took part in a "shoe box" swap with some of the other demonstrators in my local area - there aren't that many of us, so it was nice to meet up and share some project ideas. The idea is that everyone designs a project and brings everything needed to make it in a "shoe box" - the projects are then passed around the table and everyone takes home a selection of "new" ideas. I wanted to make a card with a small gift, something that makes a quick last minute gift. The colours I used are Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry and Very Vanilla, the stamp set is the gorgeous UK exclusive Everything Eleanor. This was a fairly simple design, with some flowers cut out and layered with dimensionals and a large pearl for the centre and a length of Victoria Crochet Trim. This is the side view of the card. This is the inside with the chocolate bar and a "thank you" stamped with the Oval All stamp set. My project was inspired by the colours of the wrapper on my chocolate bar!! If you would like to join our next "shoe box" swap, contact me to find out how easy it is to start your own Stampin' Up! business - join my team of Sparkly Angel's before 30th March and you can choose a stamp set of any value FREE!! I would like to say a huge "Thank You to Margaret who hosted this swap in her home and surprised us all with a gorgeous buffet lunch she had kindly made before we arrived. I will hopefully get the other projects I made photographed in the next few days and share them - there are some fabulous ideas!! Angela x
Happy, Happy Friday!!! I am so ready for the weekend, and I'm super excited to share today's card with you. It has been a LONG time since I went full blown "distress mode" on a card. Years I think. And it was so much fun!!! I have a baby shower to attend for one of my nieces this weekend, and she's from an antique loving family. Her colors were navy and gray, so I thought I'd lean towards grays for this baby card. I added some yellows to make it a little more happy. I used Power Poppy's Precious Baby stamp set. This image includes a set of baby blocks, but I didn't think they fit well proportionally on the card, so I just cut them off. Easy peasy. Below is a close up of the image. For the inside, I used another of the sentiments included in this set. That's it for today's project. I hope you'll check out what the following Bloom Brigaders have to share today: Christine Okken Julie Koerber Katie Sims Stacy Morgan Tosha Leyendekker---you are here Thanks for visiting!! I hope you have an awesome weekend filled with creative ideas!! Join me in welcoming back Angela Rivera one last time as our Guest Designer this month! You can follow her at her blog Angel's Creative World HERE. Let's see how Angela interpreted her final sketch as a guest designer with us: Angela went for a pretty direct interpretation of the sketch simply substituting the sunny girl from the Fun in the Sun stamp set in place of the main circle. The large flag is the perfect place to showcase a pretty patterned paper like the one she chose from the Fresh Squeezed Chevron Paper Pack. It looks like a pool full of cool water! The My Favorite Things Creative Team has been busy getting creative! Let's see what they have up their sleeves for Sketch 287! Julia also goes for a direct interpretation adding in lots of fun interest with the background stamping on the main panel and the flag. The circle is the perfect spot to feature one of your favorite Die-namics like the Bicycle. The delicious Julia-style additions of buttons, flowers, twine, and a tiny paper clip make this design extra special. Patterned paper is the key to making Debbie's design stand out in a crowd! Because she wanted to feature the fox from the Sweet Forest Friends stamp set, she needed to give a lot of weight to her design, and the patterns do the trick! I love how she added a little bow and homey stitching. Keisha creates drama with the Simple Leaf Flourishes Die-namics and a juicy color palette. The stitched Die-namics and Scallop Background stamp add flair and depth to her design. Amy took a sweet and pretty approach to her design with gingham, a bow, and a scalloped circle to feature her pretty flowers from the Delicate Pretty Poppies stamp set. Though the flag is missing from her interpretation of the sketch, the bow hearkens to that part of the design. Jodi's sweet tooth is obvious when she turns that circle into a donut using the Donuts Die-namics! The delicious color combination, Tiny Hearts Background, and repeated stamping on the flag make this card a real treat! Francine envisioned the circle as a moon and created this cute and spooky design using the super fun Witch Way Is the Candy? stamp set. What a rich and gorgeous color combination, and that night sky is absolutely dreamy! Congratulations, MeganBeth! You are the randomly selected winner of last week’s sketch challenge. I've been having another play with my Silhouette machine (I love it, I love it, I love it). I was a bit worried that the scalloped frame would be difficult to cut using some lovely sort of pearlised card I have because of it's thickness. I've read lots of comments from people saying that the Silhouette can only cut thin paper and card, but up to now (touch wood) I've not had a problem with anything I've tried to cut! I sized the frame to cut 41/2" square to fit on a 5" square card, but I could have cut it any size at all (it's so clever). The flourish was again cut out with the machine, this time I used white card and just inked it in black. The sentiment stamp is from Stamping Up. The rest of the items are all from my stash. Here's a bit of a close up so you can see how cleanly it's been cut - anyone ummming and ahhhing about getting this machine, I have to say that I think it's the greatest!!

I used Karen Burniston's Ring Accordion to create this stunning holiday card. I cut the ornament topper (included in the Ring Accordion) from Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz - looks just like metal. The holly from the Candle die set was cut from white cardstock that had Double Sided Adhesive applied to it then covered with Peridot Silk Microfine Glitter and the little berries were cut from Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz. The Season's was cut from Basic Black cardstock. I added Holly Flourish around the first ring, holly & pine branches from Candle was added to the middle ring and bows from Ornament Set 3 were added to the first and last ring. I die cut an opening in the center ring so the ornament from Ornament Set 3 would dangle. The glittered ornament is hanging from a jump ring attached to the top part of an ornament topper cut from Silver Metallic Shimmer Sheetz. I just sandwiched the little ornament topper between the layers. This card took a really long time to complete, but I love how it turned out. The other side of the middle ornament is cut from Peridot Shimmer Sheetz and Whisper White cardstock. Happy Stamping, Raquel To purchase Stampin' Up! products, please visit my online store. It's that time again! I know I mentioned that the new Maja Moodboard is posted the first Tuesday of every month but I have to correct that, since the beginning of the new year it is now the firs SATURDAY of the month. That being said here is the gorgeous Moodboard for February!... I love that the moodboard for February is not your typical pink/red/white color combination (although I do love to scrap pink)...this mood board has such lovely shades of violet/purple/plums with some beautiful neutrals. The moodboard is based on colors in the 'Ska vi ta en Fika?' collection. I used mostly papers from the above collectin but added a little bit in from the Vintage Spring Basics collection as well (striped background for the card) and a little bit of Vintage Autumn Basics (clocks). The roses I used on this card are from an old package of Prima flowers I had in my stash, mixed with small white roses from Dusty Attic Designs. The vine flourish design was cut from Maja papers using the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die cut. I created a shabby-chic frame design for my card title with a Dusty Attic Design frame and some white pearl 3D paint (I used Scribbles brand found in the T-shirt section of Michaels Craft Shop). Here is an even closer view of the frame. I usually like to machine stitch on my cards but I ran out of the heavy duty upholstery thread I ususally use for stitching on my cards and layouts, so I had to cheat and draw on the stitch design with a brown pen. Maja Design papers used on this project: ~ Ska vi ta en Fika (Favoriter, Blommor på bordet, Våffla m björnbärssylt-bs, Söders höjder - bs) ~ Vintage Spring Basics (8th of April-bs) ~ Vintage Autumn Basics (XVI) - clocks ~ Life in the Country (Sowing Seeds-bs) I hope you get a chance to play along with this months moodboard challenge at Maja Design, there is a beautiful Maja Design collection (of your choice) up for grabs as the prize each month!
