Knitting is an extremely popular craft, and if you are looking to learn to knit or are searching for top knitting projects, you've come to the right place!
A shawl designed for my favourite cousin. Something out of regular track, assymetrical and irregular in shape. The shawl is started at one end of the wing tip with a few stitches and the volume is built up by increasing at one side. The picot border on each side is ‘knit as you go’.The pattern is easily adjustable in size by adding more repeats of the lace stitch pattern to make it wider and/or by working more repeats of the main pattern to add more volume. The bigger the shawl, the less regular the triangle, with bind-off side getting shorter in proportion to lace side.Any yarn from lace to DK weight will look good on the shawl. Consequently, needles should be adapted to the yarn used and the degree of lacy effect that you desire to achieve. I knit very loosely so my needle size is always smaller than average.Pictured shawl was knitted with Sonata Anilux sport / 5 ply on US 2 ½ – 3 mm needles. I used up 450m / 492 yards to obtain shawl that measures approx. 45x49x70”
If you purchase 5 patterns from my Ravelry Store at the same time (add them all to your cart before you check out), the least expensive one will be free. Sokol is the Russian word for “hawk“, and knowing this, it’s not difficult to imagine where this name comes from. Falconers need to protect their arms and hands, so they need long mitts, padded with an extra layer of fabric. Sokol mitts are knit in the round from the bottom up. The main part of the mitts are knit in plain stockinette, with just a few rounds of ribbing along the edges. The buckles are added at the end by turning the mitts 90º/270º and picking up stitches along the sides. They are knit flat across the width of the mitts and decreases are worked to form the tips. The tip of each buckle is attached with a button. Pattern has been tech-edited and test knitted. Do you like my designs and want to join me on the journey? You’ll find a Ravelry group for discussing my patterns, for test knits and KALs here.

A nice pin cushion is a must have for every needle-yarns-fabric crafter. I finally designed the first pin cushion in all my life! Its shape reminds me of famous French sweets and I called it “Macaron”. The pattern (6 pages) is very easy to follow. It offers detailed instructions and basics of this crochet technique as well as lots of progress pictures (a few for each round). All stitches are also explained in the pattern and I’m sure that advanced beginners will easily handle it. This pattern is written for one size. The size of the finished pin cushion depends on the yarn and hook you use. My cushion is approx. 6 cm (2 ½ inches) large across and 2.5 cm (1 inch) high. Materials: Leftovers of yarn in three colors, the crochet hook 2.75 mm (C) or the size that will give an acceptable gauge. You will need a very small amount of yarn. You will also need scissors, tapestry needle to weave the ends in and stuffing. I wish you pleasant crocheting hours and hope that you will enjoy this pattern!

Ever since I posted an image I found on the internet showing the larksfoot crochet pattern (or also known as the icicle stitch) the traffic I receive due to that image is mind-boggling and I've received so many mails from people asking for the pattern so I decided it is fair I post the pattern for it. Since this post was prepared long before I started my travels, I forgot to note down the size of the sample block so I will update this once I return home. For the sample block I used sport acrylic yarn and 3mm hook. The pattern uses multiples of 4. Let's begin: Foundation: for the sample block I chained (7 x 4) 28 + 1 Row 1: dc 1 in 4th st from hook (makes the 2nd dc), then 1dc, ch 1, sk 1, 3dc. Here's the first row finished. As you can there are 7 sets of 3dcs + 1 skipped stitch = (4 sts), which is 7x4 = 28 sts. Row 2: repeat row 1 To start it, chain 3 (counts as the 1st dc) and 2dc in the next two sts. Row 3: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and 1 ch), sk 1, 1dc (over the 3rd dc in the row below), 1 elongated dc (encompassing the space of this and the row below it), 1 dc in the next stitch. This is the pattern for this row. To divide it in steps it looks like this: How to make that elongated dc: Continue working the pattern to the end For my sample block I ended by making the first dc of the larksfoot stitch (look closely at the picture). So whatever stitch number you choose (for the foundation) do not get confused if it ends differently (and it certainly will) - you just follow the pattern and be fine wherever it ends. Mind the next row, though. From now on you repeat rows 2 and 3. Row 4: repeat row 2 (mind how you finished). As you can see from the picture, I chained 4 and repeated row 2 across. Row 5: repeat row 3 (the larksfoot stitch) Row 6: repeat row 2 The pattern is great for blankets and scarves. I made a scarf for myself but I'll show it in another post. I hope you put this to good use! You can find my blanket patterns here.

Size: Hat circumference at bottom edge is 22”. This hat should fit most adult head sizes. Yarn: 100g Artesano Alpaca DK If keeping the hat all one colour then 2x50g skeins are need. If the ears and muzzle are to be another colour then an additional skein of chosen colour will be needed. Knitting Needles: 3.75mm Double Pointed needles. 3mm double pointed needles. The 3mm double pointed needles are used for the muzzle and the ears as they need to be a denser fabric. Gauge: 22 stitches x 30 rows = 10cm (4 inches) in St st. The gauge is important for this item so working a test square before knitting is recommended. Also required: Small quantity of black yarn for eyes and mouth/nose. Yarn needle, 2 stitch holders, small quantity of stuffing for muzzle. You start knitting the hat by making the two ear flaps first and then link them with cast on stitches to form the body of the hat. The ears and muzzle are knit last and then sewn on. Finally, if you wish to have them, tie cords are made and then attatched to the tips of the ear flaps.
