Edward Burne-Jones: The Golden Stairs. Fine art reproduction print. "The Golden Stairs is one of the best-known paintings by the Pre-Raphaelite artist Edward Burne-Jones. It was begun in 1876 and exhibited at the Grosvenor Gallery in 1880. Unlike many of Burne-Jones's works, The Golden Stairs is not based on a literary source. It has been called Symbolist, as it has no recognisable narrative, but rather sets a mood. It is a harmony of color in the tradition of the Aesthetic works of the 1860s and 1870s, as a group of young women carrying musical instruments descend a spiraling staircase, dressed in classically inspired robes in tones of white, shading to gold and silver. Critic F. G. Stephens wrote in The Athenaeum that the musicians "troop past like spirits in an enchanted dream ... whither they go, who they are, there is nothing to tell". You can choose from several sizes and prices. Our prints are of the highest quality. We care about the exact reproduction of the original colours of the painting. We use 12 colors pigment ink system, that produces the full spectrum of colours with unnerving accuracy and perfect balance. We care nature: we use only water-based pigment inks. They are UV resistant, and they do not release solvents into the air we breathe. Also our papers are very high-quality: artistic paper is 240gr., and has a linen effect. >>> FRAME NOT INCLUDED <<< NB. The watermark will NOT appear on your copy, being present only in order to protect the copyright of the work. We usually leave a blank contour of 0,5cm to help you with the frame. The dimensions shown are approximate to half a centimeter. >>>IF YOU WANT A DIFFERENT SIZE ORA A CUSTOM PRINT WITH A COLOURED CONTOUR PLEASE ASK ME! I'll prepare a custom ad for you!<<<

Like clothes or other fashion styles from the second half of 19th century, women's hats in this era were also very uncomfortable, and most were awful. Just only few look good. Check out these photos to see how awful they were.
