Still Life Fede Galizia, 1607
Born in Milan, Italy, Fede Galizia, like many female artists of her time, was the daughter of a painter (a miniaturist), who is assumed to have taught her his craft. Little is known of her life, but her skill as a painter was first noted by Italian historian Giovanni P. Lomazzo when she was just 12 years old, and she was widely considered a prodigy.

The power of detail. Fede Galizia was only 18 when she painted this amazing fabric!
The flat and bold Fede Plate Earrings are reminiscent of Mexican Modernist design. They are showy, but feel perfect with blue jeans and a t-shirt. Sometimes simple is the strongest. The Fede earring series is named for the Renaissance painter Fede Galizia who is believed to be the first artist to date her work alluding to authorship and the ability to manifest self-worth. - Available only in sterling silver - Measures 2.25" H x 1.75" W
A Pioneering Old Mistress
Fede Galizia, an Italian Renaissance painter of still lifes, portraits, and religious pictures, wasn't discovered until the 20th century.
