I accidentally stumbled across an online challenge called "Februllage." The Scandinavian Collage Museum and Edinburgh Collage Collective are the hosts of Februllage -- a combination of the words "February" and "collage." The challenge is to make a collage a day throughout the month of February, using the prompts from the Februllage Official Word Prompt Calendar: The challenge is hosted on instagram. Even if you don't wish to participate, I think the work that people are doing is super inspiring. So I thought you might like to see a few of the entries from the first two days (these images are...

Welcome to our February Challenge. This month's theme was chosen by the Lovely Miriam. We are also excited to have a new Design Team Member join us too and we will officially introduce her later in the month Happy February. I am lucky enough to choose the theme for this month. for a lot of people the start of the year has been tricky - the pandemic still control a lot of our day to day, it has been winter and the nights are still dark. So, I wanted my theme to lift the spirits a little. That made me think of hope and new beginning and then I thought of Spring. So my theme is that, first signs of Spring. Here is my first project for the month I used lots of my favourite products and mediums on this card. Pop over to my blog to see what I used in this project. So there you go - I really hope to see you join in with the challenge. I hope to see lots of Spring themed projects. Happy crafting! Miriam Jane January is finally behind us. Our February "first signs of spring" challenge is very apt for us to all stay positive and look forward to brighter, lighter days. I decided to make tags for this challenge. Here is my first one. The birds will soon start looking for their mates and building their nests, such a wonderful sign that spring is on its way. If you would like to see how I made this and take a peep at the background before it all got covered up just fly pop on over to my blog where all is revealed. Monika Hello crafty friends, for our February challenge, First signs of Spring I created a card with a blue bird and a wreath. You may know by now that my favorite color is grey. THIS is a whole lot of color for this girl - but I'm feeling up to the challenge! Altenew's Inspiration challenge for February 2021 to be exact! Even though my stash didn't include a Bird of Paradise, I was so lucky to have an Altenew win at the end of 2020 - this gorgeous Craft-a-flower Poppy layering set came to live with me - hope you like it! I have a feeling it will be used quite a lot. I've used just one of the blooms on my card... I have to share a little closeup of this gorgeous Dotted Starburst debossing, and the gorgeous layers of this die set ... Several of Altenew's Rounded Rectangles were cut from Neenah 110# cardstock, and layered to create this frame - even the last final smallest rectangle was cropped for the perfect spot for my simple sentiment - from Fresh Freesia. My layered Poppy was cut from my small stash of colored cardstocks... so happy I had close-enough colors! Thanks for stopping by! =] Michele Thank you so very much Altenew for the win!
Servus, hello, welcome and thank you so much for stopping by! Today I want to share with you my latest DT project for SanDee&amelie's Steampunk Challenges. This month we have a theme and it is New Stash/Forgotten Stash which means that we want our players to create a steampunk or industrial style project on which they use either an almost forgotten item from their stash or something new (that they got for Christmas for example). Or both. ;) After long consideration I finally decided to give to myself for Christmas the lovely Tim Holtz "Village Brownstone" die from Sizzix. And as I wanted to create a little steampunk house I also decided to use my (never really forgotten) Tim Holtz Diamond Plate and Riveted Metal embossing folders. Alongside with these I used quite a collection of DecoArt's fab Metallic Lustres to give my steampunk house a metal look. And here it is: I used some heavy black cardstock for cutting out the house parts and then gave them a coat of Black Shimmer Metallic Lustre for the roof and Silver Spark for the other pieces. I applied the Metallic Lustres as you would apply normal paint - simply wet a bristle brush and the Lustre too so you can take up enough "paint" for brushing it on. Afterwards I dry brushed the dried pieces with DecoArt media black Gesso for a grungier look. The windows and door were given a coat of Iced Espresso Metallic Lustre. To make my house sturdier I cut out a base plate from a piece of foam board so I could glue the house "around" it. Using my mini hot glue gun I assembled the house parts after I had glued the door and window frames in place using DecoArt matte Decou-Page. Then I distressed all the edges with black soot Distress Crayon. To add a bit more colour to my house I added dashes of Copper Kettle and Gold Rush Metallic Lustre here and there: et voilá: I just love how very "metal" my house looks. The effect of the Metallic Lustres is just amazing! If you hop over to our challenge blog you will be able to learn about the new or forgotten stash my teamies and our players have used so far. I would love to see you play along! As always we have two prizes to give away - generously donated by our wonderful sponsors DecoArt media and boozybear! So don't miss the chance to win! Hugs and happy crafting! Claudia xxx

In February I will be holding my first solo exhibition of over 30 new watercolour paintings at Abbott and Holder in London. For this exhibition, I explore my vision of a botanical dystopia, challenging our own sense of scale, its value and how we measure it. The story began when I picked up a leaf from a London pavement in July 2014.

Hey, Hey, Hey Stampers! Welcome to my blog today....we are hopping around the world today with my creative friends over at Around The World on Wednesday Blog Hop. This month's theme is a bit different.....it is a Rainbow Monochrome Challenge. Each time zone in the world has been assigned a specific color. Then we are to use shades of that color as well as black and white to create our project! Fun! My color is yellow.....so.....and because I just got the new in-colors I took a bit of creative licence and stretched the yellow theme to include Pale Papaya..... this is what I came up with: Don't you just love the Magnolia bundle?! I am very sad that this beautiful set is retiring! And I think it looks fabulous in Pale Papaya! Here are a couple of close-ups: I wish the glimmer from the wink of stella on the flower would photograph better.....in person this flower is GORGEOUS! Here is one more look: Now hop onto the next blog for some more creative inspiration: If you get lost along the way here is the blog roll list: Jan Clothier - NZ Tatiana Tobin - AU Leonie Stuart - AU Rochelle Laird-Smith - AU Cheryll Miller - AU Melissa Gifford - AU Danielle Kassing - NL Satomi Wellard Pia Gephardt - DE Ximena Morales - DE Aurélie Fabre - FR Annette Ball - CA Angie McKenzie - US Mary Brown - US - Special Guest Connie Babbert - US - Special Guest Wendy Lee - US Shel Anderson - CA Chris Smith - US Lisa Martz - US - Special Guest Tricia Butts - US Wendy Weixler - US - Special Guest Elaine de Montmorency - CA Sharon Hashimoto Burkert - US Teri West - US Cheryl Hamilton - US

Exactly four years ago, on February 1st, 2020, I accidentally discovered the ITP Challenge group. This group consists of incredible individuals who inspire face painters to participate in daily face-painting challenges. Four years and over 730 paintings later, I still find myself reaching for my brushes and paints every day. Most of my paintings are modest, simple doodles (visible on my Instagram), but occasionally, I manage to create something more substantial.
