Welcome back and hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Nancy, here, and I created my own tutorial for you to print out and follow if you are doing the Lawn Fawn Magic Iris for the first time. The Rubber Buggy has all of the supplies and products you will need for crafting this card. I would highly recommend you to view the Lawn Fawn tutorial, click here, as well. I still had problems with assembling the Magic Iris after watching the Lawn Fawn tutorial so I thought I would do a written tutorial for you with lots of photographics and also go over some of the tips and technique that helped me since I had a few throw-aways and this can become very frustrating when the Magic Iris can't open up after hard work assembling all three layers. There will be three layers to the Magic Iris and I will highly recommend that you have fairly new Mini Dots that aren't slightly dried out or fast adhesive tacky glue for adhering the green tabs only on the PLUS SIGN that is included in the die cut and possibly two-sided tape for the brown tabs. Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Die Set Lawn Fawn A Bug Deal Stamp Lawn Fawn Magic Iris Circle Scalloped Add-On Since I had the Lawn Fawn Scallop Circles die set, I used it for this card. Additional supplies: Beacon 3-in-1 Advanced Glue, Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Die, 1/2" Wide Scor-Tape, Mini Glue Dots, Scrapbook Adhesive ED Foam Step #1: Cut out 3 circles, 3 green tabs, 3 brown tabs, 1 orange tab and 1 red tab. NOTE: I have colored each section a different color to make it easier for you to follow the steps. Unfortunately, I have added other photos of my other Magic Iris since the photos came out clearer. Normally, I would have cut all the die cuts in white 80lb cardstock but used different colored circles for better guiding you through this assembly. I numbered each circle for each layer. Stamping the tab tip: Easier to take the the green tabs and then put each tab into the cardstock and then into a stamp tool and stamp the leafs. Step #2: Take this die and align along the center of the circle and die cut. Sample on the right of after the circle has been die cut with this die. Step #3: Take each green die cut and insert in each tab but DO NOT Glue yet. Step #4: Each green die cut has a plus that has been cut through each of the green cardstock. Add small glue dots of just a small (tiny) drop of glue on each plus mark. (NOTE: Since I haven't used my glue dots for years, the dots were dried out and didn't adhere well. Therefore, had to purchase new ones. Sometimes glue works as well but only a dot). Might have to align the green tabs again perfectly on the inside and outside of the circle with your fingers since these tabs move around by holding them. Step #5: Take the #2 Orange circle, align on top of the green tabs and press down which will adhere the two layers together. Step #6: Turn over the circle over and use two-side adhesive tape on each die cutted stitched rectangle that was on the circle. (See photo above for arrow where stitched rectangle). Step #7: Adhere the three brown tabs and bend over to the front of the orange circle. Step #8: Note the above and below photo. Using a different sample: Adhere the printed tab with the arrow on the pink tab and then adhere this pink tab on the right side of the brown tabs that will be on the right side of the card. Step #9: Lay the white or blue circle on top of the orange circle. Take each brown tab and adhere to the top the blue or white circle. NOTE: Make sure to not get glue or tape stuck on the inside of the layers as well as don't get the tabs wrapped tightly on the next circle. Step #10: Now you should be able to move the orange tab with the arrow back and forth for the Magic Iris to open and close. Again: I ended up with dried up Mini Dots and used a slight amount of glue. Let dry before trying to open the Magic Iris. Also, don't stamp next to the Plus Sign for the glue since glue and especially the Mini Dots will not adhere and pop right off when opening the Magic Iris. Note Blue Example when closed with the arrow next to the tab. Step #11. You can stamp the image of the circle cut out of the Magic Iris and adhere in the center of the Magic Iris on the frame. I did it different on my second card and traced the center of the Magic Iris on the frame of my card, stamped my sentiment and then glued the Magic Iris on top of the sentiment. Optional: I used foam adhesive tape to adhere the Magic Iris on the frame after gluing the Magic Iris Scalloped Circle on the Magic Iris. I had so much fun making these cards and hope you will too. Hello there! Happy Monday! Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week is in full swing, and today, I have a card to share with you using the new Slide On Over Circles die set, along with the Out of This World stamp set that was showcased yesterday. To create my card, I first splattered a piece of Blue Jay cardstock with metallic gold watercolor. When I was dry, I used one half for a card base, and diecut another rectangle with the Dotted Recrangles Stackables. From that rectangle, I diecut the middle sized Slide On Over Circle. On the bottom of that panel, I added three layers of Puffy Cloud Borders to the bottom of the panel, adhering them only on the sides and bottom so that the spaceship could move freely around the circle. I stamped, colored and diecut images from Out Of This World, and arranged them, popping each one up with foam tape. I stamped a sentiment from the same set on to a stamped banner from the Bannerific stamp set and diecut it with coordinating dies before popping it up with foam tape. Hi everyone, thank you for stopping by. I hope you're having a great day. Today I am beyond excited to share with you an interactive card using the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider die. If you are anything like me, you've been looking at this type of card and wanting to make one but being super intimidated to do so. I watched all the videos I could find that used this die and I couldn't wait to try it out. I started by die cutting all my pieces from 110lb Copic-friendly cardstock. There is a "U" shaped track piece that I felt needed to be doubled up, and I'm glad I did. Using the MISTI stamping tool I stamped and masked each of the flowers on the paper using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and then again on the acetate using StaZ-on black ink. Because of the overlap I stamped the middle flower both times, masked it, then moved on to the flowers on the side. While I'm sure this can be done without the use of the MISTI, I was thanking my lucky stars that I have it because my inks seem to be running low and I needed to restamp the images -- having the MISTI makes it so incredibly easy. I used Shaded Lilac Distress ink to add colour to the frame piece. I coloured the flowers using Copic Markers. The hello die is included with the set and I couldn't NOT use it. I die cut the word four times and stacked them up using a liquid adhesive. Because I wanted the slider to be the star of the show, I kept the background of the card simple, but adhered a piece of Lawn Fawn patterned paper and left it at that. Everything you could possibly need for a fantastic card is included in this die set, and once you get the hang of the assembly, putting it together is like a dream. I do recommend using a powder tool to brush the sides of the slider area so nothing sticks. I think the thing that I love best about this die set is that I am still able to make cards that can go in the mail! Even though the slider area of this card is popped up on foam tape, that is literally the only dimension that there is! I should have taken a picture of the card laying flat to show you, but hindsight and what not. I'm sure I'll be making and sharing more cards just like this one in the future so hopefully I'll remember then. I hope you like today's card and are inspired to create something of your own. Hello there, In today's video I'm going to show you how I created this card using the brand new Flippin Awesome die set and add-ons by Lawn Fawn. This new interactive die is just awesome and so easy to use, and I can't wait to create more cards with it. So I first started by cutting the main moving piece out of kraft cardstock. The die creates four score lines in the center and two other score lines to create tabs. I simply folded those four lines first using my bone folder. I'm doing it in both directions, it will help the flippin mechanism work smoothly. And next I folded the tabs. To create my small sceneries, I cut four squares out of kraft cardstock, four squares out of pattern papers from the Spiffy Speckles paper pack, four stitched squares out of the same pattern papers, and four squares out of different cardstocks that I will use for the ground. First I adhered each stitched square to a kraft square, and next I attached each kraft panel to the coordinating square: yellow with yellow, lilac with lilac, green with green. The blue panel will be totally glued to the moving piece so no need to back it with a blue square like the others. Before attaching my small panels, I wanted to create a pocket, so I used the diagonal gift card pocket die to cut a nice plaid pocket that will coordinate with the Spiffy Speckles papers. The die creates score lines so i folded them, applied liquid glue on the tabs, and attached the pocket to the main piece. Next I flipped the main piece over, applied double sided tape on the tabs, making sure to cover them entirely (I like to use a small acrylic block to cut the tape right on the edges of the cardstock), I applied tape on the square part, and also on each strip. The blue panel will be my last panel in this flippin scene so I'm going to attach it first to this square part. The square part will always show the last panel of your flippin card so if you create something chronological, be sure to put your panels in the right order. Next I removed the back of the tape on each strip and attached the other panels. To give a nice and colorful background to my flippin element, I used the scalloped rectangle die from the add-on set to cut a beautiful panel out of the same plaid paper as the pocket. To attach the whole flippin element, you have to fold it to be able to hug the tabs around it. So you remove the back of the tape on the tabs, you hug those tabs around, and you press down to your panel to attach the tabs. Next I stamped my sentiment on a white banner using the brand new Crunchy Leaf ink. I cut a 5,5 x 4,25" stitched rectangle out of woodgrain cardstock and adhered my flippin panel to it using one layer of foam tape. And the banner was attached using foam squares. I stamped the four trees from the Tree before 'n after stamp set on white cardstock using jet black ink, as well as some additional images to help me create my little scenes. My idea was to create the exact same shot of the same house during the four seasons, like the ones we see in movies sometimes. There is a still frame on screen and only the seasons change to make people understand that time goes by. I've always liked that kind of shots in movies so I tried to recreate that as best possible. When all the images were colored, I used the coordinating dies to cut them, and I sorted them by seasons. But before adhering them, I cut borders out of the squares I cut at the beginning of the video. These borders will help me ground my scenes. Next I assembled everything, attaching each season on a square panel using 3mm glue dots. I also added cute details on each squares: some leaves in the fall sky, some snowflakes in the winter sky, some butterflies in the spring sky and finally some clouds in the summer sky. I cut the pull tab arrow out of two different cardstocks, and I kept one arrow and one tab to create the pull tab at the end of my flippin panel. And the very last step was to adhere my panel to a kraft card base.
