A choppy bob works for everyone—it's the ideal haircut for thin hair that needs texture and volume, and thick hair that could use lift and movement.
Que levante la mano quien quiera guardar YA el abrigo.
PRACTICAL COMFORT: A collared neck with full zip closure, zippered hand pockets, and a drawcord adjustable hem locks out the morning chill
A new version of our popular Cora Dress - we have added a flounce neckline and contrast bow making it reflect early 1930s styles. Dress has flattering V neckline with pleat details at the centre bustline which are reflected in the sleeve detail. The flounce/frill edged in contrast thread floows the neckline and finishes with a contrast drop bow at the centre front. Sleeves finish just above the elbow and have ruching on the sleeve and also on the sleeve head. Bias skirt panels with extra clever darts means that this dress has no fastenings and will drape beautifully around the waist and hip. A super flattering fit for all shapes and screams early '30s. No zip - due to bias cut - pull over head. Please note, dress is not lined so some may like to wear a vintage style slip underneath. Key 1930s features include:- - v neckline - with centre bust pleats- frill around full neckline- contrast bow- sleeves with gather detail - bias skirt- low calf length - approx 75 cms from natural waist (NB: this will change depending on your own shape due to the bias nature of the garment) Dry clean or cold hand wash - MUST dry flat due to bias panels. Fabric: 100% viscose crepe. Made in Yorkshire, England

I have learned, in buying for RARE vintage, never to say never. Because you never know. I never entirely shut the door on a designer - who may not be a favorite of mine - just because you never know when you will see something unexpected and fall in love. I always want to see before deciding no - or yes. And you know how I was just writing about Antonio Lopez and fashion illustration? How fashion illustration was never a particular favorite genre of mine until I saw Joe Eula's drawings for Halston. Well, never say never, because now I have fallen for the Swedish illustrator Mats Gustafson. Mats Gustafson saw the work of Antonio Lopez when he was growing up in Sweden and it "triggered something in me that made me think I can do this". And in 1978 he received a commission from Grace Coddington at British Vogue. In the 1980s Gustafson moved to New York and started creating illustrated advertising campaigns for Romeo Gigli, Commes des Garçons and Yohji Yamamoto. (Those were the days! Love all of those 80s pieces from Gigli, Commes, Yohji...) Mats Gustafson for Romeo Gigli. Vogue Italia. 1990 Mats Gustafson for Romeo Gigli. Swimsuit. 1989 Mats Gustafson for Yohji Yamamoto. Vogue Italia. 1999 And now Gustafson was commissioned by Raf Simons at the house of Dior to draw some of the pieces from Fall 2013 and Resort 2013 collections... I will definitely be ordering the book Mats Gustafson Watercolors. Dior by Mats Gustafson. 2014 Dior by Mats Gustafson. 2014 Dior by Mats Gustafson. 2014 love, kisses and vintage, Juliana
With the holidays approaching and all the festivities that this season entails, another tip from Ruth Wyeth Spears for her 1920s sewists on the subject of evening frocks seems appropriate! This tip is for creating a large ribbon rosette with streamers to accent your 1920s party frock. Key to her tip is two-toned or double-sided ribbon (a different color on each side, not two colors on each side). You create knotted loops and sew them in tiers to a circle of buckram - easy-peasy! I love Ruth's tips. Enjoy!
