Looking at inspiration for 1930s necklines and collars to go with a new vintage blouse I'm going to make using Art Deco style fabric
Button Dress 1930's Decades of Style Vintage Style Sewing Pattern Heavy tissue paper pattern. Here's your chance to use any vintage buttons you might have hanging around your sewing room. This ironically named "Button Dress" does not actually have any functioning buttons on it. All the buttons are decorative. The dress has raglan sleeves and an invisible zipper at the side. There is a decorative tie at the back neck and a tie belt that can tighten the fit at the waist if desired. Choose a medium to light weight fabric with a soft hand. If the fabric is too stiff, the sleeve will not drape nicely. The dress is cut on the straight grain. Rayon, voile, soft silk, handkerchief linen. Pattern includes all 9 sizes.Return Policy The return policy of Selvedge Studio is limited, but strives to ensure a satisfied customer. Cut yardage is not returnable except for manufacturer defect. Products can be returned within 30 days only because of manufacturer defect or shipping damage. If you need to return something, please contact us immediately and we will arrange for a replacement.
Edwardian fashion was characterized by the new S-bend corset and pouter pigeon shape. It was an era of luxury with elegant dresses and expensive fabrics.
This 1940s vintage pattern for full or cocktail length dress has the most beautiful draped asymmetrical neckline! The tie at the waist provides for perfect fit.

In Part IV of The Ideal WWI Figure, let’s look at how women with full busts achieved support and the fashionable silhouette of the period. Part I: The Ideal WWI Figure: a range of Ideals Part II: Breaking Down the Elements that Made the ‘Ideal’ figure Part III: The Changing Ideal Figure, 1913-1921 One of the most common questions I get asked about the Rilla Corset is how to wear it/what you do for bust support if you are very full busted, as it sits below the bust. To answer that question, let’s go back to the source, and look at period accounts, illustrations, and extant examples of bust supporting garments. There is no better way to find out how to support your bust then to see how it was actually done in period. As we’ve seen from looking at the figure ideals in the 1910s over the last three posts in the series, the ideal WWI bust, whether small or big, was low and drooping, rather than high and perky, as is the modern …

With the ease of the pattern and the instructions I created my 1930s style coat with similar colors from that era: hunter or forest green Melton wool with Ivory faux fur mink trim, vintage buttons and a vintage art-deco belt buckle. Very easy pattern to use and I have a collection from them. I highly recommend their patterns!'
