Stopping in today to share a little project with you that celebrates the beautiful liturgical seasons of our Church: Father Pine Liturgical Vestments.
Aaron and I try to be intentional about living out our faith for Mackenzie to see so we can teach her to know and love the Lord and live her life for Him. Lately I have been brainstorming some new, fun ways to implement spiritual disciplines and truths into our day. And I came up with the Prayer Pail. The plan is to let each of our kids pick one (or a couple) sticks out of the prayer pail while we are at the dinner table and then let them pray for whatever or whoever is on the stick. Hopefully it will work out well! Want to make your own prayer pail? All you need is: -large craft sticks -a bucket (or you can use an empty tin can, flower pot, mason jar...whatever really) -scrap paper -markers -stickers -scissors -double sided tape -ribbon Step 1: Cut out a strip of card stock, add the words "Prayer Pail" with stickers or a pen, and attach to the front of your bucket with double sided tape. Feel free to decorate the back as well with some stickers, verses on prayer or anything else you would like! Step 2: Write the names of friends, family and any other people or things you want to be praying for on the craft sticks and place in your bucket. Some of the ideas I added: -The names of Friends and Family -The Lost (People who don't know Jesus) -Missionaries we know -Our Church -Our Neighbors -Our City -Thank Him! -Praise Him! -You Choose (they can pick anything they want to pray about) Step 4: Cut a bunch of ribbon pieces and tie on the handle to spice things up a bit. Yeah! Your done! Deuteronomy 6:1-9 1 These are the commands, decrees and laws the LORD your God directed me to teach you to observe in the land that you are crossing the Jordan to possess, 2 so that you, your children and their children after them may fear the LORD your God as long as you live by keeping all his decrees and commands that I give you, and so that you may enjoy long life. 3 Hear, O Israel, and be careful to obey so that it may go well with you and that you may increase greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, promised you. 4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. 5 Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. 6 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. 7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. 8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. 9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

Mary Joseph Baby Jesus Jesus: The Reason for the Season The Nativity Picture Activity Suggested Answer Keys for ALL Foldables – print or display on projector Each foldable is designed to engage your students as you teach and review the important details of the Christmas story found in the Bible. Complete student directions are included for each foldable. Your students will need scissors, glue, and a place to attach their foldables. In the past, I have used journals, file folders, and large pieces of construction paper. Each page in this packet is designed with TWO of the same foldables to save on printing and copying costs – simply copy ½ as many copies as the number of students in your class. I’ve also included lined writing paper for your student to glue under the flaps of the foldables that require a lengthy response. I’ve included two options per foldable: college-ruled lines and wide-ruled lines for younger students. As a way to extend their learning and give my students practice sharing their faith, I often have them take their foldables home and share them with a relative or friend. The person they explained it to would initial in the corner for my students to receive credit. Resource created by Jessica Lawler Joy in the Journey

Inspired by the Easter Story Wreath I saw at Oriental Trading (pictured below), I thought it'd be fun to draw my own version for kids to color, cut and assemble! I wanted to include Pentecost in my wreath (it's not included in the one above) and also add scripture verses to make it tell the Easter story in better detail. (And by-the-way, I really didn't care for the "happy hippy" Jesus in their wreath--I mean, he's SMILING during the agony in the garden? Really?) So anyway, here is my own version of an Easter Story Wreath. Please feel free to print as many as you like! There are three documents to print (2 image docs and one scripture egg doc). To assemble the wreath simply print, color and cut out the images. For a wreath base I used a large circle (approx. 11 1/2 " in diameter) cut from a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock: I arranged the pictures to "tell" the story from Palm Sunday (starting on the top right) through Pentecost (placed in the top center). If you're interested in making this wreath I'm sure you're already very familiar with the order of the events, but I will go ahead and list them just in case: 1. Jesus enters Jerusalem (palm branch and donkey pictures) 2. The Last Supper (bread and wine pictures) 3. Jesus Prays in Gethsemane (praying hands picture) 4. Jesus is Crucified (cross picture) 5. Resurrection (empty tomb picture) 6. Ascension (Jesus in clouds picture) 7. Holy Spirit Comes Down (dove and flames pictures) Here is an example of an assembled wreath will look like: I overlapped some of the pictures on top of each other to make them fit nicely--feel free to arrange them however you like! Glue stick or Glue Dots work well to affix the pictures to the wreath base. You can print the wreath images by clicking on the links below: Easter Wreath Pictures Page 1 of 3 (Microsoft doc) Easter Wreath Pictures page 2 of 3 (Microsoft doc) Easter Wreath Pictures page 3 of 3 (Microsoft doc) NOTE: Some people have mentioned that their scripture eggs are printing out blank. If you experience this, you can try editing the document to re-arrange the order of the "egg shape" to send it to the back. This has fixed the issue for most people. I hope that helps. If you are still unable to print the eggs with scripture in them, you can also print the text separately and simply cut and paste it onto the blank eggs. Below is the document with the scripture verses by themselves: Scripture Verses TEXT ONLY (microsoft doc) I hope this wreath helps make the Easter season more meaningful for your family!
