If you haven't noticed (via love and wool), my favourite thing in the world is fairisle knitting. I love stranded colour work. I adore the way the Jamieson's of Shetland yarn stretches over my fingers, I love the sticky nature of it, weaving in the ends when I'm finished, and most of all, the risk of cutting a steek. I was lucky enough to make a sweater for England's own David Evans. I'd been reading his blog for ages, and I was a long time admirer of his work promoting handcraft. I won'

Noux is a circular yoke sweater that is worked seamlessly from top down. The neck ribbing and a couple of increase rounds are worked first, followed by the beautiful stranded section. After that, some raglan shaping and short rows are added to ensure a better fit. Sleeves are then placed on hold and the body is worked toward the hem, adding a bit of A-shaping. The sleeve stitches are then placed on the needles again and worked in the round toward the cuffs. The pattern includes a photo tutorial for German short rows. Please note that the stranded pattern is charted only. The sweater is designed to be worn with approximately 4”/ 10 cm of positive ease. Shown in size S. GAUGE: 22.5 sts and 34 rounds in single color St st using larger needles = 4” / 10 cm 22.5 sts and 28 rounds in stranded colorwork using larger needles = 4” / 10 cm Use the needle size that gives you the correct gauge. Swatching for both the stranded colorwork and single color stockinette is recommended.
