Sweater not included Digital download only Design — The Abeline Pullover is a top-down colorwork sweater with autumnal & wintry motifs in the yoke. See the star flecked sky, pine trees, field of flowers, and transport your mind to a walk outside with your favorite hot drink in hand. Construction — The Abeline Pullover is worked top-down in the round, beginning with a rolled purl edge at the collar. The yoke is worked in stranded colorwork using 2 colors to create the motifs. The sleeves & body are separated by placing the sleeve stitches on hold while the body is worked in stockinette stitch with a ribbed hem and tubular bind off. The sleeve stitches are placed back on the needles, worked in stockinette stitch and finished with a ribbed cuff and tubular bind off, repeating for the other sleeve. This sweater is designed with 4-7” (10-18 cm) of positive ease in the body. It is loose fitting at the bust and drapes straight down through the body for a relaxed fit. The sleeves are less oversized with 1-2” of ease at the bicep. Try measuring your favorite sweater and compare. Feel free to substitute the rolled purl cast on or tubular bind off with other methods. The body & sleeves can be made longer/shorter - this will use more/less yarn. Supplies — 2 colors of Originally Lovely Pura 100% Superfine Merino (50g, 136yd/124m per ball), or similar DK yarn. Anemone Sweater features an allover Fair Isle flower pattern and ribbed edges. It is worked from the bottom up in the round to the underarms. Work is then divided, and front and back are worked back and forth up to the shoulders. Sleeve stitches are then picked up, and sleeves worked in the round from the top down. Finally, stitches for the folded neckband are picked up and the neckband finished in rib. As an alternative to working the yoke back and forth, the entire sweater can be worked in the round and then steeked (cut). You will find alternative instructions in the pattern for how to work the sweater in the round with additional steek stitches. There are, however, no actual instructions on how to reinforce the steek, cut or finish the steek edges afterwards, and you are advised to use your own preferred methods for this. If you are new to steeking, this is not a good first-time pattern for learning, and we recommend that you work the yoke back and forth instead if this is the case.
