A collection of images to inspire daydreams and fantasies. Feminine and romantic. Some vintage, some not. Some real, some imagination. And every so often you will see a furry friend -simply because they make me smile and remind me there is such a thing as unconditional love. A WORD ABOUT SOURCES: I post images from many different places and I try to give as much information about my sources as I can - usually in the caption. Sometimes I don't have the exact information, so if one of my images needs more credits please let me know and I will be glad to add it.

"The beauty that addresses itself to the eye is only the spell of the moment; the eye of the body is not always that of the soul." ~George Sand I came across a photo not long ago - I am not sure who it was by - of a room with an ornate settee covered in beautiful lace boudoir pillows, scarves, and various lovely things with a mirror in the background and a shelf with more objects and baubles. The photo was lush with beautiful things placed haphazardly here and there and I loved it immediately! Everything looked as if it had recently been touched laying across a cushion or stacked in lovely disarray. It inspired me to take this set of photos full of beautiful things displayed together in one beautiful 'mess'! It is amazing the unique and wonderful things you can discover when you are not trying to make everything perfect! I have also included an old sketch of mine. Have a lovely sunday and remember to look for beauty in imperfection! Everyone always asks me where I get the beautiful dyed ribbon roses - they are grouped in a bowl in one of these photos - they are from the wonderful site http://www.meadowstreet.com/. Definitely worth a visit! Drawing of Jennelise
After my adventures at Hope and Elvis and my trawls around Hemswell, I had a lot of scrappettes and fripperies waiting patiently to be used. This piece has taken a long time to make but I loved every minute. I really enjoyed trapping the lace fragments in the stitching, it's a technique I'll definitely be trying again. The only problem I have now is what to do with it, should I keep it as it is, like a textile picture, or incorporate it into something else? Any suggestions would be gratefully received! "What is Christmas? It is tenderness for the past, courage for the present, hope for the future. It is a fervent wish that every cup may overflow with blessings rich and eternal, and that every path may lead to peace." ~Agnes M. Pahro This time of year can go by so quickly because there is so much to do and think about. The first week of December is already almost over! This is why in my house we decorate early so that every ornament, bauble, and ribbon can be enjoyed to the utmost. Every year my Mother manages to create something new and extraordinarily beautiful from some small discovery we make in the array of Christmas decorations available everywhere. This year we found balls wound in pearls and then we used some of the fabulous french trims we have been collecting over the past few months and some gorgeous ribbonwork roses from Meadowstreet and Lambs and Ivy Designs to make the most beautiful ornaments I have ever seen! I actually had to give in and let my Mum have one of her Christmas presents early - a little ribbonwork brooch from Lambs and Ivy that was perfect for this project (See pics 6, 13,14 etc). Of course she was thrilled! (Thankyou Dana!) Decorating with my Mum is one of my favorite things about Christmas. Nobody can make a home as soft and beautiful as my Mum. I hope you are enjoying decorating for Christmas too! I am sharing with: What's It Wednesday Pink Saturday
