This beautiful 1936 RCA model 5T1 two-band (AM and shortwave) radio is in excellent working condition, and features an Art Deco tombstone cabinet design with a 5 tube Superheterodyne chassis that receives AM from 540-1820 kc and shortwave broadcasts from 1.8 to 6.6 mc. An MP3 minijack in back allows connection of your smartphone, iPad or other compatible music storage device with the 5' cable (included) anytime you prefer to listen to your own music through this radio's amplifier and speaker. If you'd like a Bluetooth receiver that attaches to this same jack, it will be an option available when you complete checkout. Just professionally serviced, all components were tested with the following replaced with new: 1 tube, all capacitors, several resistors, the power transformer, and the dial lights. All controls and switches were cleaned and lubricated, all tuning circuits were aligned, an antenna extension wire was added, the MP3 jack was installed and the set was fully tested. It performs superbly with rich full tone, a good range of bass and treble, and full range of volume. It has excellent reception and selectivity across the dial, with lights and all control functions working as intended. Cabinet dimensions are 17 1/2"H x 13 1/2"W x 8"D, and the radio weighs 18 pounds. The factory finish on the wood cabinet still nicely displays its contrasting wood grain variation and coloring, as the pictures show. It has its original dial, bakelite knobs, grill cloth and factory paper labels, all in excellent shape. The veneer is all original, tight and straight, and all seams, joints and internal braces are present and tight. This radio will be packed with great care and sent fully insured with tracking.
