Superb pair of poufs by Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti, Koala model, with bentwood structure and solid patinated bronze base. Garouste and Bonetti began their collaboration and gained worldwide recognition following the interior design of the Parisian discotheque Le Palace in 1979, commissioned by Fabrice Eamer. This pouffe was designed by the duo in 1995, and published by BGH. Each patinated bronze leg is stamped B.G. They have been fully restored, and covered with Pierre Frey reference Teddy, an extremely soft, thick mohair velvet fabric reminiscent of a teddy bear. Reference: Y. Brunhammer and M.L. Garouste & Bonetti began their collaboration and gained global recognition for their interior design of the Paris nightclub Le Palace in 1979. This model of Koala armchairs was designed by the duo in 1995, and edited by BGH Edition. Each foot is stamped B.G. They have been fully restored, and newly upholstered using French Métaphores St Germain forest green velvet, which is incredibly comfortable and soft, suiting these armchairs perfectly. Stamped BG on a leg, for Garouste et Bonetti Original condition. One scratch on the right side of the cabinet. This scratch will be erased and the cabinet fully refinished (wooden part). The three large feet are made in beautiful orange lacquered wood topped by gilt bronze elements, all stamped BG. This is clearly a statement piece, especially for those that believe passionate expressions of creativity go hand-in-hand with interior design. Elizabeth Garouste & Mattia Bonetti were a team of designers, based in Paris, who brought extraordinarily imaginative designs into the mainstream. Their work, like this console table, reflects their idea that furniture design should have no rules in terms of form and materials.
