Well no one else is likely to have one of these at the party. These skeleton hands were carved here in NYC and cast here as well. It is as per usual an original copyrighted design. The piece is 2 inches across the top and the hands making the heart are 1/2 inch tall. (5.08cm x 1.27cm) The piece is not skimpy at 3mm thick. It comes on a generous 18 inch open link 2mm sterling silver chain with a lobster claps. The chains are made in Italy. I cast this piece in solid sterling silver . The bails it hangs from are cast as put on the piece so it's solid state. It's going to last lifetimes. The hands are incredibly detailed right down to the little ring that some grave robber popped the stone out of. There are a lot of cute as kittens people flashing the " I heart you " sign. This one is for the rest of us. You know what I mean I think. Maybe it means I will always remember you. Shipping time : I usually have these on hand and we ship every couple days Mon-Fri. ****************************************************************************************************** Make sure to checkout the rest of my shop! Well paired sterling silver skeleton and his widow wax seal dangle earrings, Mr. & Mrs. Schondel ... or select a pair of skeletons or a pair of widow earrings ... historical wax seal jewelry! - description - The interesting full size wax seal depicts an oval in the center which reads, in Latin, SPES MIHI SUMMUM BONUM SCHONDEL with the initials JFA. A skeleton and a woman holding a bird leaning on a large anchor flank the oval. An hour glass, a rake and a scythe, a wheat sheaf are engraved under the oval. - symbolism - In heraldry, a skeleton is symbolic of mortality. A woman leaning on an anchor represents hope. I could use the assistance of a sigillographer with this seal! My best guess is that it once belonged to a widow, the oval center suggests this, along with the facts that she is leaning on a large anchor and there is a skeleton where I presume her husband used to be. It's likely the couple were agricultural farmers. SPES MIHI SUMMUM BONUM translates I HOPE FOR THE HIGHEST GOOD. SCHONDEL could be the surname. Hand cast from just a portion of a large, heavy steel Georgian era (1714 - 1830) desk wax seal. - approximate wax seal measurement - 7/8" x 1/4" (22mm x 8mm) - photographed next to an old US dime for reference to size - wax seal charm metal - sterling silver (.925 silver) - ear wires - sterling silver - little plugs are included on the ear wires - don't lose an earring! The last photo shows all the items that were made with this incredible antique wax seal. Sterling silver miniature straight razor on a curb chain. This is the same design as my first razor but much smaller. The razor is one inch long. Choose a length of chain in the menu on the right. Handmade Oxidized finish Killer cute!
Very unique and unusual Sterling Silver Brooch. It is marked 925 and with an artists signature/ mark that I can't quite figure out.It measures 13/4×11/4 andcweigh 12.8 grams. The animals and the Shepherd look very much like the drawings done by the famous Edward Gorey who is well known for his dark ,a little creepy and a bit "off" illustrations.I can not guarantee its his work...you decide what you think. Very good condition .
