About the slide setup for Multi Age Units: As this is a multi age unit, often parts of the lessons or resources are relevant to either Stage 2 or Stage 3. To make this discrete, or easier to identify, I have used the following animals to assist. The koala icon identifies all Stage 2 content and resources. It was chosen as it is an animal that climbs height of the trees, yet also journeys back down to the ground on occasion. This symbolises building on the groundwork and foundations of Maths to develop deeper knowledge and understanding. Therefore, Stage 2 concepts will be identified by the Koala. The kookaburra icon identifies all Stage 3 content and resources. It was chosen as it is an animal that flies to new heights but also rests on branches of the trees at times. It symbolises extending on what they know, but also coming back to the foundations they were taught to consolidate their learning and then build upon it. Therefore, Stage 3 concepts will be identified by the Kookaburra. References and materials covered throughout are specifically stated/attributed within the teaching slides.
