Build sentence and reading fluency with this "Feed the Frog" activity! You'll definitely spark high interest and engagement with this fun activity!! Students will love feeding the frog so much, they won't even realize they're working. This resource is perfect for your beginning readers and will build their sentence and reading fluency, while also practicing reading and writing CVC words. Students choose a sentence card and read it. The sentence cards use a picture for the CVC words, not the words. Students then find the CVC word and swat it to pick it up with the fly swatter template included that you'll attach to a magnetic wand (optional). After they swat it, they write it on the recording sheet and then feed the "fly" to the frog. The fly swatter is optional, but adds in a little extra fun. If you choose to omit the fly swatter, students can simply pick up the cards. There are 40 sentences included; broken into two sets 1 - 20. All sentences begin with one of the following: I like the..., Look at the..., or I see the... See the video preview to see it in action! NOTE: The capital 'i' on the frog cards has been changed via request to a traditional capital 'i' with the lines at the top and bottom.
