A journal made in response to an artist residency in collaboration with the British Council, One Resilient Earth, Living Story Landscapes and Hawkwood Centre. The residency centred the idea of Restorying our narrative around climate change, bringing together artists from the UK and Phillipines for an exchange over the course of six months. These were online, however the residency culminated in a week long in-person session at the lovely Hawkwood Centre for Future Thinking. I responded to the residency by thinking about the divergence and similarities between Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK) and Scientific Ecological Knowledge (SEK). What struck me was the quality of observation between the two - one more attuned to emotion and relations, the other more objective. I saw how this radical attentiveness infused with emotion could foster a sense of stewardship to place, and so endeavoured to record my own loving observations in my home in Oban, Scotland. This journal will keep growing!
