Esta casinha é um cofre que meu marido, Erasmo, fez para a netinha, Mariana. E ela guarda, religiosamente, "1 erral por dia" nele (ela acha mais fácil dizer erral do que real). As janelas e portas são cobertas (bem coladas) com plástico de radiografias. Prestem atenção na porta e verão as moedas lá dentro. Daí eu insisti e ele fez esta para mim. As telhas das duas são pontas de palitos de picolé. As casinhas são revestidas em marchetaria. Esta tem um desenho feito com retalhos de madeira na calçada de frente. Aqui está a parte de trás de minha casinha, onde ficam a portinha com cadeado, para tirar o dinheiro e os buracos para guardá-lo (o redondo para as notas, enroladinhas e a abertura para as moedas). Na primeira casa, estas aberturas ficam do lado esquerdo. Ele gosta e tem jeito para mexer com madeira. Para os outros netos, fez a miniatura de um "caixa eletrônico (Tiago) e um caminhãozinho (Felipe), que tem uma carroceria fechada, onde fica o cofre.

I had planned to post some more "in progress" pictures for this one, but became so involved in the process, I didn't want to interrupt the flow. I'm pleased with the way this has turned out. The deep eaves help to showcase the fancy barge boards, just as they do on real houses in this style. Here's the interior, with cottage style furnishings. Tea things on the table in the living room. The master bedroom has a tiny porcelain dog in a basket by Sylvia Mobley; the smaller bedroom has a dollhouse that doesn't show in the photo because it's tucked under the eaves.
