True Anarchists are against false liberty invoked by cowards to avoid their duty
"Revolutions without theory fail to make progress. We of the 'Friends Of Durruti' have outlined our thinking, which may be amended as appropriate in great social upheavals but which hinges upon two essential points which cannot be avoided. A program, and rifles."—El Amigo del Pueblo, No. 5, July 20, 1937. Spain 1936–1939: This is the story of a group of anarchists engaged in the most thoroughgoing social and economic revolution of all time. Essentially street fighters with a long pedigree of militant action, they used their own experiences to arrive at the finest contemporary analysis of the Spanish Revolution. In doing so, they laid down essential markers for all future revolutionaries. This study—drawing on interviews with participants and synthesizing archival information—is the definitive text on these unsung activists. This volume is translated, edited, and introduced by Paul Sharkey, acknowledged internationally as the foremost expert on the Friends of Durruti Group.

Lively, incendiary, and inspiring, No Harmless Power follows the life of Nestor Makhno, who organized a seven-million-strong anarchist polity during the Russian Civil War and developed Platformist anarchism during his exile in Paris as well as advising other anarchists like Durruti on tactics and propaganda. Both timely and timeless, this biography reveals Makhno's rapidly changing world and his place in it. He moved swiftly from peasant youth to prisoner to revolutionary anarchist leader, narrowly escaping Bolshevik Ukraine for Paris. This book also chronicles the friends and enemies he made along the way: Lenin, Trotsky, Kropotkin, Alexander Berkman, Emma Goldman, Ida Mett, and others. No Harmless Power is the first text to fully delve into Makhno's sympathy for the downtrodden, the trap of personal heroism, his improbable victories, unlikely friendships, and his alarming lack of gun safety in meetings. Makhno and the movement he began are seldom mentioned in most mainstream histories--Western or Russian--mostly on the grounds that acknowledging anarchist polities calls into question the inevitability and desirability of the nation-state and unjust hierarchies. With illustrations by N.O. Bonzo and Kevin Matthews, this is a fresh, humorous, and necessary look at an under examined corner of history as well as a deep exploration of the meaning--and value, if any--of heroism as history. | Author: Charlie Allison | Publisher: Pm Press | Publication Date: Aug 22, 2023 | Number of Pages: 256 pages | Language: English | Binding: Paperback | ISBN-10: 1629634719 | ISBN-13: 9781629634715

This image is a burning city and a small figure holding waving a black anarchy flag, with the words "We are Not Afraid of Ruins." THIS ORDER IS FOR ONE PATCH. Please tell us if you want the white or the black patch! The white patch may be a slightly off-white canvas material. The image is 7 inches by 8.5 inches (LxW) or approximately 18x22cm.) --------------------------------------------------------- It features a paraphrase of a quote from legendary spanish anarchist buenaventura durruti. a canadian journalist interviewed durruti two months before his assassination, during the spanish revolution. here is the conversation. Pierre Van Passen (journalist): And even if you win – you do know, don’t you, that you’re going to inherit piles of ruins? Buenaventura Durruti: …We have always lived in misery, and we will accommodate ourselves to it for some time yet. Don’t forget, though, that the workers are the only producers of wealth – we, the workers, run the machines in the factories, we extract coal and minerals from the mines, we built the cities… Why shouldn’t we rebuild them – new and better – to replace that which is destroyed? Ruins do not scare us. We know that we will inherit nothing more than ruins, because the bourgeoisie will try to destroy the world in the last phase of their history. But, I repeat, we are not frightened by ruins, because we carry a new world in our hearts, murmuring forcefully – a world which is growing this very instant." ------------------------------------------------ -Custom anything available, upon request! -If you would like to order more than one item with this image, this is also possible.
