My LSS is having a contest this month to use the Abbey Road line of papers from My Mind's Eye. You just have to make a one or two page layout using that particular line of paper and only that line. Since I'm still using my friend Susan's sketches from her Sketch Savvy blog, I decided to use this sketch with that line of paper. Because the topic of the layout is the Mad Hatter, the White Rabbit and Alice, I wanted to papers to be vibrant and to mimic the craziness of the photo session we had that night. So I mixed and matched all kinds of colors and patterns from the line. I couldn't pass up the opportunity to use some of this fun trim! The little cotton balls reminded me of a white rabbit tail, and I loved the flowery teal Webster's Pages trim. Since I have been so inspired by my friend Susan lately, she has also been doing some templates, and I decided to try my hand at a couple of templates myself! Here are the two I made for this page. You're welcome to use them for a layout, card or party favor if you'd like. Just a warning though, they are a little time consuming so put on a good tv show and start cutting! Please let me know if you use the templates so I can link your project back here. It's so much fun to see what others do with something you made. Wow! Another whole layout finished!! That must be a record for me in the last couple of years. Here's hoping I get a few more finished before Spring Break is over. Now, enjoy A Little Cuppa Crazy --
The donkey painting, "Little Kevin." ABOUT ME My name is Lizzie Beckerley from the Sulky Cow Gallery in the UK. I am a Welsh artist and my passion is painting happy, whimsical, quirky pictures, usually of animals. ABOUT THE PAINTING Here are high quality giclee prints, taken from my original oil painting of my donkey painting, "Little Kevin." He would make the perfect gift for any donkey lover. PAPER PRINTS My donkey paper giclee prints come just as they are, unframed. They are printed onto our premium quality fine art paper. They come in a choice of two sizes, 5 x 7 inches and 8 x 10 inches. We have specifically chosen these measurements as there is such a wide choice of beautiful frames to chose from in these sizes. After we have printed our giclee paper prints, we leave them to dry for 8 hours and then we protect them with a matte varnish. They are then left for another day before packing. So the process of preparing prints for sale takes two days in total. CANVAS PRINTS If you'd like a canvas print of my donkey picture or even if you are interested in the original oil painting, please see my other listings. WHAT IS GICLEE? Giclee (pronounced je-clay) is a type of very high quality printing ink. Giclee comes from the French word "gicler" to squirt. The lightfast inks, which are acid free and lightfast, are sprayed onto the paper. It is believed that this process achieves the closest match technically possible to the original piece of artwork. Giclee prints use inkjet technology and are far more sophisticated than your normal desktop printer. Giclee prints are known for their longevity and are the choice of art galleries, museums and collectors. COPYRIGHT Copyright of all pictures remain with the artist Lizzie Beckerley at Sulky Cow art gallery. Thank you for looking at my donkey painting. Donkey lover gifts in art.

“Love Cats” is just the sort of card or picture which will delight any feline fancier. These cats are based very much on my own two lovelies Domino and Coco who rule our house by deciding where we can and can’t sit, and weaving through our legs trying to guide us to their food bowls. These cat designs can be created in traditional cat colors but you can have fun creating them with bright floral prints for a modern, fun look. The pictures rely on a strong contrast between background sky and the cats themselves, so choose your papers carefully for best results. Add bling and bows for an exotic pampered feline design. Paper Quilting brings paper and sewing together in a truly unique and beautiful craft. It is mastered quickly because of the easy to follow template patterns using ¾ or 1 inch squares which are cut out using a paper punch or die cutting plate. You can create greeting cards, pictures and gift tags. Crafters of any age and ability level can produce beautiful handmade creations in a single crafting session. Paper Quilting is one of the best ways of introducing simple sewing and is a wonderful craft to share with children. My patterns are for your own personal use only. Each can be used repeatedly just by taking a copy of the working template. The same pattern design can be created in so many different ways just by changing the papers and embellishments you use to create it. Use all the latest paper designs alone or combined with wrapping paper or plain coloured card stock. Recycle magazines, old greeting cards, catalogues, calendars, maps, postage stamps, damaged books and music scores and wallpaper into your work to create a truly unique piece of craft art. Add beautiful embellishments, stickers, stamping, craft punched or die cut elements, embossing and mixed media techniques. This is a craft which brings new life to every other craft product you already own. There are different techniques within Paper Quilting. Just Squares, Traditional Block, Crazy, Scrap, Layered Squares, Puzzler and Padded Top Stitch can be used to change the Paper Quilts pattern further. Most of the patterns I design use the Just Squares technique working template but these can be used with the other techniques very easily. “When I give to you what I make with my hands, I share with you my heart” Happy Paper Quilting

Title: A Gentle Freak-Out Size: 10x8" Themes: mental illness, mental health, depression, anxiety, stress, personality disorder My best-selling print. From my series of therapeutic self-portrait photographs entitled 'Out of My Mind', documenting my own personal journey through mental illness. The series is also a commentary on the state of the mental health services in the UK, USA and beyond. This highly-charged emotional image, signifying confusion, frustration and despair represents both a deliberate and somewhat controlled 'freak-out' and the final explosive outcome of constantly suppressing all the negative emotions. Am I tearing my hair out, or shaking loose and even ripping off the metaphorical mask I am forced to wear each day? Probably both. ♥ Printed to professional standards on high quality, matt, archive-safe paper with fade-proof inks. The matt/matte/mat texture not only adds to the look and feel of the image, but also reduces reflections, making it perfect to hang anywhere - even under tricky lighting conditions! Full bleed (i.e; no white border) Framed example shown for reference only. ♥ Signed, titled and dated on the reverse, upon purchase. Worldwide shipping! I post within 3-5 business days (1st Class UK/RoI or International Airmail) Combined shipping FREE! You only pay for one, no matter how many prints you buy! Thank you, Emma ♥
I thought I was going to celebrate a red letter day--my Stitching Society 180 wool hexagons were all finished! Hallelujah!! The Bell Pine Branch I don't think I've shown these yet-- Dresden Plate Endless Chain Winding Ways When I got to these last two pattern pages, I was feeling pretty lazy and was so ready to be finished with my hexagons. The last two designs #179 and #180I just couldn't face doing all those tiny bike parts or musical notes--I am stitched out! So, being super lazy, I came up with two very simple designs of my own: Stork Embroidery Scissor I laid my scissor on the wool and traced it--one piece of wool. Sad Iron I just kind of eyeballed this from a Google image--that's why it looks weird! But only 4 pieces--yay!! 180 designs DONE!! Wrong. I counted and recounted and could only come up with 179 wool hexagons---whaaaaat???? It took a while--a long while--for me to figure out where I went wrong. I had never duplicated the hexagon I used in this pillow--rats! So, you know what my Slow Sunday Stitching will be--the last hexagon!!! Linking up with Kathy at Slow Sunday Stitching HERE and WIP's Be Gone HERE
Take black sparkle felt (or foam or reg felt) and cut out two bat wings and 2 little ears. I made a template out of regular paper before I cut into the felt. Glue wings so sparkle side is facing front.
Photo Source: pinterest.com | Chasidy Manis Hulett Halloween is right around the corner! Spice up your hallway decor with this simple and fun Frankenstein design! We found various versions of this door display floating around Pinterest. The design above comes from Chasidy Manis Hulett. Halloween Frankenstein Door Display Start by covering the entire door with green bulletin board paper. Next, use black background paper to create Frankenstein's “hair” - cover the top third of the door, using scissors to cut a “shaggy” hairline. From black construction paper, cut two medium-sized circles and mount them onto larger circles, cut from white construction paper to create eyes. Add these to the center of the door. Cut "bolts" from gray construction paper and attach these to the door frame - about two-thirds of the way from the top of the door. Add the rest of the detailing with black craft paint - the stitches on Frankenstein's forehead, a nose {a simple "U" shape}, and mouth. [NOTE: There are several alternatives for the mouth. The original designer created a thick black line, adding several teeth, but you might also opt for a straight "stitched" line or even a "stitched" smile...] To create a little more visual interest, you might also consider adding spider "webs" around the door and a spider cutout on the web or Frankenstein's face {see photo below}... Here's another pincushion! Voici une autre pelote à épingles! Make or buy or use an hexagon template. Its side shouldn't be smaller than 3,5 cm. Mark the fabric, and cut about 1cm larger. Cut 10 different hexagons. Add a small ribbon and sew two hexagons together, on five sides. Turn the hexagone over and cut a piece of felt the same size. Place the felt piece and the double hexagone on the center of an hexagon. Place it exactly with the help of pins. Cover with another hexagon. Pin them exactly over one another, and sew the longer side. Always start and finish with a few back stitches. Sew only on the pencil mark. Add six hexagons to the center. Then sew the sides, by sewing two hexagons together on two sides. You get a bowl. Add the bottom hexagon last. Leave one or two sides open. Turn the pincushion over. Fill it with batting. Add a button. Ajoutez 6 hexagones au centre. Ensuite cousez les côtés, en cousant deux hexagones ensemble sur deux côtés. Vous obtenez un bol. Ajoutez la base de la pelote en dernier. Laissez un ou deux côtés ouverts. Retournez. Remplissez avec de la ouatine. Ajoutez un bouton. Five pointed star pincushion Would make great pincushions as well: http://maryandpatch.blogspot.ch/2013/09/biscornu.html http://maryandpatch.blogspot.ch/2013/11/decoration.html

Over the past several days, I have been splitting my time between two big projects: quilting my arithmetic quilt and ripping down a wall paper border in my daughters room. Fun times! Both are hard on the arms, so it was wise to split up the tasks over several days. This is my arithmetic quilt. (You can see a full photo of the quilt top here.) It's a twin size, so I'm pleased that I was able to quilt it (off and on) over a 5 day stretch. That's a pretty moderate pace! I went with a simple loop de loop all over for the quilting. Nothing fancy, just something to keep the layers together and add some lovely texture. It's kind of fun that the quilting shows up a lot more on some of the blocks and a lot less on the other blocks. I used Aurifil thread in the color 2600. It's a beautiful light gray thread that blends with almost everything. Here's the wall paper that got it's eviction notice...finally! I'm guessing that it's from the 90's? It totally overstayed it's welcome. I'm so glad it's gone, gone, GONE. This project also took several days. I am mildly disturbed that I actually ENJOYED ripping it down. (How sick it that?) I am glad that it was just a border, though. That was plenty! Now it's time to move on to binding (yay!) and painting. Progress is good! Before I sign off for today, that you SO MUCH for all of your kind comments on Abby's Sunset quilt top. I appreciate each one! I hope you are having a fabulous week! xo
I have the most wonderful small group of quilting friends that I get together with every two weeks to stitch and quilt with. We always treat each other really special on each person's birthday and when I saw this free project by Cheryl Goss from Willowberry Designs, I knew exactly who I was making it for. It took me a little longer than expected but I finally finished it and gave it to her...sorry Amanda that is was so late :) Amanda has lovely country decor in her home and I went with a tea-dyed heavy muslin for the background and country colors for the flower. I used perle cotton from DMC to do the Blanket Stitching around the outer edge. One layer of batting inside. On the back, I used a warm golden homespun that came in a huge lovely box of scraps I won from Kim a few months ago. It's a good thing it was in the box because I don't have homespuns and this was the perfect backing for Amanda's style! You know spring is almost here in the Maritimes when while driving on a 10 mile trip you travel through a rain storm, a hail storm, a snow storm and then sunshine! Around here, we always say the weather forecast is whatever you see when you look out the window lol! I am anxious for some green grass! My sister's 40th birthday was yesterday and two years ago on her birthday it was hot enough that we celebrated on her porch with a large BBQ wearing our shorts and sunglasses. Not so lucky yesterday. Happy Stitching and God Bless!
“Miracles” is a high-quality print of Scooter's original painting of two wine glasses toasting. All prints are professionally printed, packaged, and shipped. Choose from multiple sizes and mediums. The story behind this painting has to do with wine and miracles! The very first miracle Jesus did was turn water into wine and I love that! To me one of the most exciting things to see is God do a miracle in someone’s life. He does them all the time and I’ve seen hundreds of them! One of my favorite miracles I’ve seen happened when I went to buy wine for an Italian dinner. I was at Total Beverage looking for a nice bottle of red. One of the employees there was stocking the shelves with a brace on his leg and using crutches to get around. He asked if I needed any help and was happy to help me find the bottle I was looking for. I asked him what happened to his leg and he told me he broke it playing ice hockey. I asked him if it still hurt and he said it did, especially when he put any weight on it. I told him I’ve seen God heal peoples’ legs before and asked if I could pray for his leg. He looked at me like- “who is this crazy guy?” but said “sure.” I said a super quick prayer and asked him how he felt. He said the pain actually just left. I asked if he wanted to try putting weight on it. He put a little weight on it, and no pain. Then he put his full weight on it, with no pain. Then he took his brace off, handed me his crutches and started quickly walking up and down the Merlot isle 100% pain free. God totally healed his leg! He had the biggest smile! When you look at this painting (or print), I hope your heart is filled with hope and it reminds you that God still does miracles today. I also hope if you are in need of a miracle, you get it right now! Our Deluxe Prints are printed on Luster Fine Art paper and some sizes come Double Matted.
