Hello my crafty friends and welcome to my blog. Well, it's Monday again! How did that happen? How was your weekend? Still in lockdown here, so as usual, it was quiet, but we all got out for a short walk yesterday before lunch then we zoomed with my family for Father's Day. We got to see and speak with my niece's, brother and sister-in-law too. The Beautifully Penned DSP pack is a FREE product from the Sale-A-Bration brochure with any $90 order placed. It coordinates with the Hand-Penned Suite. The DSP pack is black and white, so you can colour it whatever colour you like, or leave it as I have done. I added a splash of colour with Polished Pink card stock and ink. This is only 1 sheet of the DSP pack - I used both sides. The scallop die is from the Penned Flower Dies and cut out with Polished Pink card stock. I also cut a small strip to go under the sentiment which is from the Forever Fern stamp set. With the basic black layer under the sentiment, I used the Banners Pick A Punch on one end (as I usually do) and raised it using dimensionals. I love this little trio for the sentiment layers. Lastly, I added some silver trim from the Simply Elegant Trim pack and adhered it with a mini glue dot.Of course I added some basic rhinestones because it wouldn't be complete without some bling! LOL This is the last month of Sale-A-Bration. It ends 30th September. If you haven't had a chance to look at the brochure, you can do that HERE. Scroll down to the Promotions section to read more about Sale-A-Bration and how you can earn FREE products. Hello! I am participating in a blog hop organised by Kylie and Bruno Bertucci as part of their Demonstrator Training Program. We are a group of Demonstrators from around the world who are taking part in training that is helping us with our Stampin' Up!® business. So, whether you are a regular visitor or if you have hopped in from another blog, I am delighted to welcome you here to my blog! We are sharing ideas for Thank You cards to send to our customers during August. If you place an order with me during August you will receive one of these cards as a thank you for your purchase. I hope that my customers like the Hand-Penned and Beautifully Penned (Sale-a-Bration item) papers as much as I do because I have totally focused on these pretty pattered papers for my Thank You cards this month. The layout of the cards is exactly the same for each one but the pattern on the paper dictated the colour of the base, layers and embellishments producing a fabulous assortment of cards. The Hand-Penned DSP from the Annual catalogue features a hand-penned water coloured look with a white pattern over a soft wash of pastel on the reverse. The Beautifully Penned papers, that are part of the Sale-A-Bration offering, have similar designs but are more dramatic in a black and white colourway. For each card, the layer of pattered paper is framed with a layer of card edged using one of the dies in the Penned Flower dies. It sits just above the pretty stitched, scalloped edge allowing the Designer Series Paper to really shine. I stamped Thanks from the Hand-Penned set on to a tag cut using the Tailor Made Tag die set, tied a small bow with twine and added it to the card over a delicate floral die cut and some ribbon. Small accents were all that was needed to finish the cards. It was fun mixing and matching to suit the card - I used Matte Black Dots, Pearls and Genial Gems. Thank you so much for visiting today, I hope you have been inspired! As mentioned at the beginning, this is a blog hop so make sure you hop ar0und to see the other amazing projects on the hop! Hi everyone! Today, I have for you 10 cards 1 sketch using the Hand Penned Petals stamp set and DSP from Stampin’ Up. I am also collaborating with my friends Alma and Gie. I am part of a grou…
I used the Stampin’ Up! Hand-Penned Petals stamp set bundle from the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalog (that starts tomorrow!!!) to create a thank you card to share with you today.
Hi Stampers, Today’s post will be dedicated to a type of die I don’t use often. I call them the INTRICATE DETAIL dies. I have no clue what they are officially called, but to me intricate detail describes them perfectly. The type of die I am talking about is like this one from the PENNED FLOWERS DIES: It is very pretty, and when I use it to die cut the image from cardstock, I like the result, but rarely do I actually do something with the die cut. They tend to be difficult to adhere (there are solutions for this problem), and I sometimes just am at a loss when it comes to incorporating them in a card design. So, today I decided it is time for me to overcome these challenges. I am sharing my results and a few tips. First let’s take a look at the entire set of the PENNED FLOWERS DIES and the coordinating stamp set, HANDED- PENNED PETALS. These items are featured as a bundle and as part of a suite in the STAMPIN’ UP! 2021-2022 ANNUAL CATALOG which goes live one week from today (4 May 2021). PENNED FLOWERS DIES & HAND-PENNED PETALS (HAND-PENNED PETALS BUNDLE) Here are the items I used from this bundle to create today’s cards. (The floral bouquet stamp image, the outline die, and the intricate detail die.) Here are the cards. For this card I used the outline die and the intricate detail die to create pieces for the card’s focal point. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - HAND-PENNED DSP (Blushing Bride) Other Cardstock - Blushing Bride and Basic White Ink - Versa Mark and White Embossing Powder Other Dies - Layering Circle Dies and Stitched So Sweetly Dies Adhesives - Dimensionals and Multi-purpose Glue * The Happy Birthday greeting is from the PANSY PATCH stamp set. Use the Versa Mark to stamp the greeting on Blushing Bride cardstock. Sprinkle the white I die cut the intricate detail image from Basic White cardstock, and used the multipurpose glue to adhere it to the Blushing Bride piece I cut with the outline die. When using multipurpose glue to adhere the intricate detail dies I look for the largest spaces on the die cut and apply the glue in those areas in a very thin line. To avoid too much using too much glue, I squeeze a bit of glue out on my silicone craft sheet or on a scrap of paper. Once the glue has started it is easier to control the amount that comes out as you apply it to the die cut. Die cut a Basic White circle using the largest of the Layering Circle Dies, and from a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock cut a scalloped circle using the largest scalloped die. Adhere the two circle die cuts together. Now adhere the floral piece to the circles. Adhere the DSP to the card base.Use dimensionals to attach the focal point and greeting to the card. This card is similar to the card above, except it does not have the solid die cut image. The intricate detail die is adhered directly to the panel? I used the multipurpose glue for this die cut too. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Garden Green 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - HAND-PENNED DSP (Garden Green) Other Cardstock - Basic White 5 1/4” x 4”, Garden Green and Basic White for the focal point Ink - Versa Mark and white embossing powder Other Dies - Stitched So Sweetly Adhesives - multipurpose glue, dimensionals *The greeting is from the SWEET STRAWBERRY stamp set. For the next card I stamped the floral image with Memento Tuxedo Black on Basic White cardstock, colored the image with Stampin’ Blends. I used the intricate detail die cut in Basic Black as an overlay for the floral image. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” DSP - Pattern Party - black& white check Other Cardstock - Basic Black 5 1/2” x 3” plus a piece for the die cut & Basic White for the floral image Ink - Memento Tuxedo Black, Stampin’ Blends of your choice for the flower image Other - white crinkled seam binding ribbon -12-14 inches. Adhesives - multipurpose glue and dimensionals * The greeting is from HAND-PENNED PETALS Stamp the greeting with the Tuxedo Black ink toward the lower right corner of the card base. Stamp the floral image on Basic White. Use Stampin’ Blends to color the image. Die cut the image and die cut the intricate detail image. Adhere the Basic Black overlay to the floral image. Adhere the checked DSP to the Basic Black mat. Tie the crinkled seam binding ribbon around the piece on the left side, and tie a bow. Trim the ends. Adhere the piece to the card base along the top of the card. Adhere the floral piece to the card with dimensionals. This card was easy to make. It is just a Basic White intricate detail die cut colored with Stampin’ Blends. SUPPLIES: Card Base - Basic White (thick) 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” and a piece for the die cut Ink - Soft Succulent and Stampin’ Blends (or Stampin’ Write Markers). Other: In Color Open Weave Ribbon in Soft Succulent - about 18” and Champagne Rhinestones Adhesive: multipurpose glue * The greeting is from the TIMELESS TULIPS stamp set Stamp the greeting toward the bottom center of the card. Adhere the die cut to the card. Place the rhinestones in the centers of the flowers. Tie the ribbon around the card and make a bow. Trim the ends. The card is complete! TIPS FOR ADHERING THE INTRICATE DETAIL DIES 1. Use the method I described above with the multipurpose glue. 2. Multipurpose glue and a sponge. Place the die cut face down on a silicone craft sheet (or a piece of wax paper or parchment paper). Put a dab of the glue on the craft sheet. Dip a wedge of a craft sponge in the glue. Pounce the sponge gentle over the back side of the die cut. * Stampin’ Up! discontinued the Stampin’ Sponges. A sponge dauber can be substituted. After use wash out as much of the glue as possible and let dry. I am not sure how many uses you will get from the sponge dauber. I have used the same dauber twice, and it appears I will get at least one more use from it. 3. Fine Tip Glue Pen - The tip on this glue is made for the intricate dies. The tip can become clogged if the little pin inside the lid is not inserted into the tip of the bottle correctly when putting on the lid. I use it from time to time. 4. Mini Glue Dots - Some of the intricate detail dies have areas where the mini glue dots will fit. Sometimes I cut the glue dots in half, or use the paper piercing tip of the Take Your Pick Tool to roll the glue dot over on itself (sort of fold it in half), and place the glue dot on the die cut. 5. Adhesive Sheets - peel the backing off one side of a section of an adhesive sheet. Place a piece of cardstock the same size as the adhesive sheet over the exposed adhesive. Place the die on top of the cardstock and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (or other die cut machine). Peel the adhesive off the back dice of the die cut, and place it on the mat, card base, etc. There are several other die sets in the new catalog that contain the intricate detail dies. One side has soft watercoloured flowers and the reverse side has a white pattern printed over a light wash of colour. One of the free items available during Sale-A-Bration coordinates with the Hand-Penned Suite - the Beautifully Penned papers have the same gorgeous patterns but in a dramatic, black and white palette rather than coloured. To give you even more inspiration each of us has created another project using the Hand-Penned products. Here is my project for today. For my project today I have gone for a quick and simple card - the kind you need when you want to be creative, but you are in a hurry. I have used the Memories and More cards that coordinate with this suite - same floaty, floral images with a mixture of coloured and black/white artwork. I'm often guilty of saving the M&M cards for memory keeping, and ultimately forgetting to use them, so I am really pleased that I've focused on the More part of the name today and incorporated them onto my card. The flowers on this particular card have a very calm and relaxing feel about them so I have kept the decoration for the card very simple. I used the scalloped die to edge the foot of the card, stamped thanks, added a few metallic pearls and a soft, floppy bow with white seam binding ribbon. I am thoroughly enjoying creating with these products - the mix and match coordination of the suite, SAB papers and M&M cards makes them so versatile. Such a joy to create with them. Let me know what you think in the comments below. If you want to be inspired with more ideas using this suite you can purchase the tutorial bundle (along with previous tutorials) HERE. Happy Tuesday! I'm sharing another Hand-Penned Petals swap card today. This pretty card was made by Laurie Reaume, and is so lovely to look at. Laurie's card features the same stamp that was on Maria's card yesterday. You can find it in the Hand-Penned Petals Bundle. This one was stamped in Pale Papaya and Soft
Happy Friday, peeps! I am running a wee bit late today; we had a busy day yesterday and I was just too exhausted to make up my post! Anyway, I have a very simple card today, it's not even fulfilling any challenge, just something I put together for a special friend's birthday! It uses one of my favorite sets from the current catalog, Hand-Penned Petals, along with the coordinating DSP. It's monochromatic, so that makes it even easier and simpler: I stamped the floral image in Blushing Bride and mounted it with dimensionals on a panel diecut with the Scalloped Contour dies. The sentiment is from Best Year. Then it went on another panel, this time the Hand-Penned DSP, diecut with another die from the same die set. I added some pearls for embellishment! Simple and easy! I love how the sentiment fit perfectly in the space at the bottom! Thanks for visiting today! Yesterday, we took Cassidy on a canoe trip down the Brandywine Creek. I must say, it was a delightful trip and after a slow start (we got there a wee bit early and had to WAIT....boring in the heat!) we all really enjoyed ourselves. I didn't get any pictures of us actually on the creek, as I was afraid my phone would get wet, but the water was cold and refreshing, we saw turtles and green herons, and we stopped a couple times along the way to actually go swimming! The current was strong enough that we could float along on our back, and still return to our canoe. We started at Northbrook Canoe, where we boarded a bus that followed the truck that hauled our canoes upstream. They put them in the water for us and we canoed back down and got back out at Northbrook. The facility been there for quite a while and definitely has a vintage feel to it! It is right next to an old train line: And after our long journey, where Cassidy did an awesome job of paddling, we went to Hood's Barbecue for lunch. It's a very cool little restaurant, recently updated, and my nephew Timmy did all the remodeling and construction work. The wood is all from the local Chester County area, except for the pig trough, which I believe came from the next county over. It's made into a huge "chandelier": We indulged her with a vanilla milkshake to go along with her barbecue: And the sign of a truly good day spent having fun: Enjoy your day and be blessed! These cards are made with Stampin' Up!'s Hand-Penned Paper, but you can make similar cards with any paper following these instructions!
I stamped and diecut a bunch of these flowers and was playing with it and decided to use two with a banner inbetween and what a sweet card it made. Basecard is thick white ( I abhor flimsy base so I am exclusively using thick cardstock for the base with a layer of fresh freesia. then a layer of scallops contour diecut in white. Two flowers cut and colored with mango, freesia, balmy blue and granny apple green - popped with dimensional. The sentiment is from Art Gallery pulled a little to fit in the banner from the Floral Heart diecut and pearls to add some sparkle. Easy peasy but SO Pretty!
Today's card features Stampin' Up! Hand-Penned Designer Series Paper, Layering Circles Dies and the stamp set, In Symmetry.
